**NORDSTROM Price Match Discussion Thread**

Nat- did nordys price match you and get through to the buying office? Because I have a bowler on hold but my SA needs to confirm with another SA to see if they got it approved. Could you PM me and let me know? Thanks! =)
 
unfortunately i just got back from nordstrom and had the worst experience! i'm not a nordstrom regular so i dont really know who to turn to. anyway, i went today after work with my confirmation that i had printed out. a SA approached me and asked if i needed help so i said yes, since the other SA was busy with customer (there were only 2). i ask her about the price match and she said yes we do that and then i showed her my paper and she said well we have the lrg bowler but in patent leather and the price is $1075 and she said that the sale at bloomys was just a one day thing and it ended friday. and i said well can you locate the bag for me? and she said no b/c she needed the SKU#. and then i tried to explain to her that a lady i know got this exact bag price match yesterday and had to speak to the buying office! and she still insist she couldnt do anything about it and that the sale ended and she can't give me the bag for $699. and i said actually it's 476! and she said oh no, no way, this is a $1000 bag. Oh and she said that my confirmation paper was expired!!!:cursing: she pointed to my order date ok?! WTF? so i was totally confused as what she was trying to say.:confused1: i told her i bought the bag but waiting to it to deliver but have to wait till oct.! and i was to try to get it earlier here. for some reason i thought this lady didn't believe my confirmation was real. i mean, she didn't even really look at it! like she was trying to brush me off :sad:
the thing that upset me most was before i left, she said something in filipino that i didn't understand so i said oh i'm not filipino. then we left and my friend said, you know what she jsut asked you? she said you look so young how do you have so much to be buying these bags??:mad::rant: what!?! that's non of her business! this lady was so rude! i dunno if it was b/c i had my paddy on and buying another bag or what. but i couldn't believe it, i'm totallly bumbed out. first i couldn't get across getting the bag when i had tried so hard and second, someone trying to put me down like a was a little kid! it was just ridiculous! i'm f***king 21! i official hate the nordstrom i went to today and never going back there ever again :mad:
 
Oh, I'm sorry you had a bad experience at Nordies. You shouldn't have left. You should have spoken with a manager. Never take the SA's word for final call. I would have told the manager how she spoke with you and mention that you found this info on the PF. Tell her of the thread and maybe she would have gone online and looked herself.

Nordies is a great store. Maybe you should try calling up some other stores that will be more helpful. A lot of us have SAs that work magic.
 
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Nordy's! In order to price match, the items must be identical--same size, color, etc.

I know that some managers and SA's can be a bit difficult about price-matching. Some stores will automatically honor friends & family discounts on merchandise that's at other stores and some won't on the basis that it's a "coupon"... It always helps to ask for a manager and to explain the situation. I would also emphasize that Nordstrom specifically states that it will NOT be undersold.
 
I was also told that to price match, the item must be exactly the same (i.e., same style AND color). I read on a different thread that a lucky PFer was able to get a different color but the Nordies I went to would not price match a different color of the MJ bowler. :shrugs:

This is correct, I personally don't think it's fair to expect them to match another style/color that's not on sale. Most stores (that offer lowest-price guarantee such as nordstrom.com, zappos.com, etc) even require that the item be in stock at the competitor's store as well.

OMG! Which one did you go to? I thought they had a 14 day price match policy or something like that. Go to the Glendale Nordies, I already spoke to them and they pricematched the wallet for me.

Perhaps you can try at another location and at the same location but with a different SA?

Regardless, on the positive side of things, at least you know you have the bag coming in a few months! :yes:
 
On the bloomies 40% thread it says Nordstoms matched the price with antoher color as well as the black..Has anyone else had that happen...or can share anything about that?? maggie
 
muzmars - i went to nordies in glendale, CA yesterday and the SA and manager i spoke to and Yeah! they said you can replace it with another color that's the same leather (no patent). they asked if i wanted the bronze instead but i just wanted to black.
