I've never price matched before, only price-adjusted, but I don't get it. If they'll only price match if the same item is available in the same colour and size on either Neiman Marcus or Saks, one might as well buy it from NM or Saks, right? It's not like Nordstrom offers codes like Bloomingdales and Saks, so that even after price matching, using the codes will result in an even lower price. Or am I missing something here?

They told me that they only price match if the company has a physical store. they wouldn't price match mine because it was an online only retailer.

Totally agree! But I just like having the convenience of being able to return at Nordstrom if I change my mind once it gets delivered or rack up my points. And Nordstrom does have better service overall.

Same they only price match if the store has a physical store but no one ever told me only Saks, Neimans etc .. I have gotten them to price match many online boutiques ( mostly shoes ) but they also had a physical store.
I like to shop at Nordstrom because its easier to return, if it falls apart they replace it, some stores are final sale which is a no buy for me unless I have seen it in person and know exactly what I am getting! Especially if I havent tried on the item before and I get points for using the Nordstrom card. Free ship to from as well!

Was it a "designer" item? I've found Nordstrom to be very strict on price matching for designer items, but not so much on other non-designer items.

Yes, it was. I guess that makes sense now. The last few times I've tried to match their "designer" items and haven't been successful. Hopefully I won't run into trouble with other non-designer items.

I believe that refers to promos like, spend $200 get $25 off. They do price match for same size/color/style and usually to F&F as well.
I live chatted with them and once they agreed to the deal, I had the Rep order it for me on the spot. So happy!In my experience it really depends on the way you go about the price match. I always have better luck in the store caues the SAs know me, and want the sale. Online they are SO strict. I don't even try anymore.
Does anyone know whether Nordstroms will price match an item that is the exact same price but available from an out of state retailer? Basically, I want Nordies to waive CA sales tax for an $$$ purchase. I did a quick search but didn't find the answer to my question. Thanks guys!
