Don't get me wrong, I like the style, but I don't know why anyone would need a blogger how to show them to put those items together? Unless the blogger is putting the shirt over the cardigan and wearing the jeans as a hat. Then yeah, I could see the need for some instruction.

Well last year they did teach us a new way to wear a fanny pack!

I'm ambassador, so I'm not in for a couple more days, but my goal is to live through others and only order my beauty, athletic, and undergarment staples and not order all the sweaters that I don't need or can't wear for four more months. I was looking back through last years thread and was reminded that at the end of August everyone was getting hot and wanting price adjustments because it was all cheaper than during the sale. So I'm going to do my best to wait, and if I miss out on something then I just miss it. Although I'm 100% sure everyone's pictures and reviews of fit, quality, and cuteness are going to break my resolve!

I'm definitely going to limit my spending too. I've out together a list and keep narrowing it down as I see additional pics. I want to buy a few Staples but not go crazy. I feel like bloggers make you feel as if you need to buy it all and grossly overspend. I don't need 5 cream sweaters in various shapes! And like you said, all of these items will go on sale again and sometimes they are even cheaper. It's easy to get caught up in all the hype and buy things you don't need.

I have one coat I'm look at, a pair of boots and a few sweaters, maybe a beauty item or two.

You guys are spot on that it's the same stuff every year. I guess there's only so much you can offer for Fall/Winter: jeans, booties, boots, coats, totes. Last year it may have been me who pointed out that the Bagley Mischka coats were unlined, which was a shame because the lavender one was interesting. I'm noticing that a lot of the blazers, even the high end ones in the $300+ range, are a blend of polyester/acrylic and other fibers. I had some jeans on my list but took them off because as flattering as they look on the model in the stock photo, some of them have modal/lyocell in addition to polyester which bags out into diaper butt for me after a few hours' wear. I'm avoiding Frame denim because last year's trouser jean smelled and fit funny, and I saw them in every size at NR several months later for significantly less than the NAS price. I no longer buy denim sight unseen because more and more designers are using cheap fabrics and dyes that SMELL and it never washes out.

I need to see/feel everything first if possible, but here's my tentative list:
1) Rebecca Taylor tweed blazer
2) Frye Carly boot
3) Birkenstock Buckley mule

Definites:
1) Lancome Genefique serum set (for mom's bday gift)
2) Slip pillowcase set

Stalking for post-NAS price drop:
1) Veronica Beard plaid blazer
2) Longchamp cuir tote in emerald (only if it's a darker shade of green)

Still hoping that there will be some surprise DVF or James Perse included in the sale. I'm trying to stay positive but also reminding myself not to get caught up in the hype! 30% off is nice but just the beginning.

Yes I agree I am trying to recall which brands went 40% 6-8 weeks after the sale. I always have a few items that do this. I am going to try to use shoptagar this year.

I had a Vince cable sweater that was reduced to 40% off in late June or early August. Unfortunately it was outside of the price match window so I had to return and re-order. The risk is that certain things sell out and don't come back in stock, or get cancelled if they can't fulfill it. I would predict that the Longchamp totes will sell out but some of the house brands will make it to NR.

I definitely remember pieces going on crazy sale a month after the NAS ended!

I didn't want to offend anyone with my blogger comment and I hope I didn't. I just personally have never seen a blogger who covered the NAS in such a way that made me go "wow!" I also think it's ridiculous that these bloggers get all these advantages/free clothes and don't have to spend a dime in return while so many of us on this forum play the waiting game, struggle to find a decent SA, or have to jump through hoops to get a price or point adjustment honored, though that's just really a symptom of blogger/influencer culture as a whole and not a NAS problem.

....

Is the smell similar to moth balls? I've noticed a few recent pairs where I cannot get this smell out no matter how much detergent and scent beads I use or how many times I wash them.

I wonder if the whole blogger/influencer thing is worth it for Nordstrom. I was going through the #nsale on Instagram and one blogger was talking about how she has to cover the sale because it's a big money maker for her. She didn't clarify if that was affiliate links or free stuff from Nordstrom or what, but I thought it was interesting.

I also saw another talk about the brands "she usually works with" that sent her their anniversary stuff to her house beforehand.

Thank you so much for the intel on the green Longchamp Cuir! I think I was the lone weirdo who wanted a bold emerald. Now I know to redirect my funds elsewhere!

We also wanted a bold bright green, but my daughter is a total green fanatic, so she was excited for the forest too. She has a mid green PS1 from a few years back but uses her Longchamps the most, because they are so good in any weather, even the leather ones.

I don’t like how some bloggers get everything for free, or get all of this stuff instead of shopping the sale like a real person. Dressing room try ins are one thing, but when you get a whole new wardrobe every two months basically just to take pictures in once, it’s a little much. I’d much rather see people spending their own money and adding a few pieces to their existing wardrobe, than people getting $15k worth of stuff they’ll never wear and just end up returning or selling.
