I think what happens, is the leftovers get deeper discounts after the NAS and finally go to rack if any are left. The problem is, for some people, every NAS item they buy is leftover, so they feel duped by the hype of the sale.I've noticed several items on the Nordstrom web site that I've had my eye on for a while are now deeply discounted compared to their prices during their sale. And one item I bought during the sale is now 40 percent cheaper. So....what was that sale about?
For me, almost nothing was more deeply discounted anywhere. I bought spanx leggings, ecco shoes, Longchamp handbags and Zella, most of which sold out in the sale. My pink Longchamp bag went down another 10% and I rebought that.
The Nordstrom brands (1901, Caslon, Chelsea28 etc)- seem like the things that go down further.
As long as Nordstrom allows liberal returns, further discounting doesn't really bother me- but if that ever changes, different story.
