This is for the connaisseurs......I've been to several designer warehouse sales and "alot" of woman hold on to stuff for a very long time until they decide if they're buying or not. It's really fustrating, in the sense that you don't have a chance to get a closer look until they let go of the stuff. Does this go on during these sales??

Yes it does, but I've just come to accept it. Sometimes I do find myself sort of "stalking" the person until they either purchase it or finally let it go. Usually they wind up buying it. :crybaby:

Did anyone go to the sale last year. Did they have any wallets or other leather goods. That is all I am really looking for. I got invited to the private sale but I don't know if I can go yet. My hubby is going on a business trip that day and will be coming back late. I don't have a babysitter for the kids yet. My hubbie doesn't believe in these. He thinks I should buy the things I really want full price but to be selective. I'm the opposite. I'm a bargain shopper and I love sales. Although with Hermes this is rarely possible. I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know what types of stuff they have.

^Plenty on small leather items at the last sale i August 2007.

On a side note, I got so excited when I saw a letter from Hermes in my mailbox yesterday, until I opened it and found a TIE CATALOG!!! Not the vip pass I was hoping for. I guess I should be content with being a B-List vip.

I didn't get the invite either - just the tie and scarf catalogs.....

I assume this will be at a smaller discount than the Met Pavillon sale, but the Wall Street store is having a sale at the store 3/13-3/15 on Men's and Women's RTW, shoes, hats and gloves. Probably more pleasant shopping experience and better selection, albeit higher prices

I got an invitation but can't make it that day. Is the selection just as good on the other days??? Or should I try to change my schedule for the private sale?

Unless, you're looking for clothing you shouldn't worry about missing out on too much.....the 19th will consist of mostly accessories(belts, lots of scarves, etc...). Again, I've never been to one of these sales, and my SA told me as much as she knew.:police:

I have been receiving invitations for Hermes private sales all this time, but I never been to one...I always thought selection might not be good or something.. Do you guys think it's worth to go? Any wallets or leather items? I heard there is usually very limited selections of leather goods though..

I've been going to these sales since 2000. The selection lately hasn't been all that great. The sale they had in August was horrible --- it was the same selection of scarves from the previous 2 or 3 sales. And the same tired selection of GP bags. If you're looking for current merch, you'll only find it in terms of RTW and shoes. Scarves and ties are a different story. If you've never been to one and keep your expectations low, you probably won't be disappointed.
