Private sale is at 123 Weat 18th Street. 2-6pm. They are VERY strict about invitations. It's weird, but I think since they open to the public on Wednesday, they like to keep the private sale a little smaller. Trust me, there will be plenty to get if you cannot go to the private sale. I cannot get there until 3pm myself...but I'm not worried. There will be plenty of scarves and ties...and home wares... Don't fret, go to the public sale, but be forewarned, it can be a little hairy...but not like a zoo. Some of those sample sale things are nutty...Hermes is a little more civilized...but I stress the word...a "little".

Thanks hermesmonkey, I've not been to the private sale, and have been told IDs are checked. I hope this is true since I finally got an ID with a decent picture, so i dun mind showing it. :p

Any reports? What are on sale anything good? Are they all RTW? How about scarves? ties? small leather goods? REPORTS please...anyone...thinking of going but not sure if it's worth taking the day off...TIA!!

They had scarves ($220), ties, belts (a few crocodile), small leather goods, tons of canvas bags (now there is a 2 per person limit), shoes, rtw (lots for women, but not as much for men), bathrobes, Saint Louis, Puiforcat. IMO the sales used to be better and the best things were Saint Louis so that is what I bought. Also, they let Soon Yi Previn in @ 1:30!

There were the usual scarves, some plisses, tons of ties and a lot of RTW, but nothing that you just had to have. I think the best thing they had there were these lovely wool blankets...no, not the ones with H on them, but a chevron in nice colors, bright green, pink, blue. ~$470 vs. normal $760 ish. Shoes were ok, lots of wedges, some wooden sandals. Tons of canvas bags. The small leather goods were ok..if you went early enough there were a few pairs of gloves too.

I'm going to the public sale tomorrow morning early. If any of you are there and want to get together or go for coffee after text or call me @ 917.673.2925.

It will be worth the walk just to see the selection. Maybe we'll all find something we've been craving....

they never have leather garden parties right? i so desperately want a gold or graphite one in clemence. i think they only have the smaller black or brown ones or the toile ones right? also- what belts? i'm sure by the time i get there tomorrow they'll be sold out but i am looking for an etrivier belt.... thanks!

sorry, no leather garden parties. but they have lots of belts sized 65-75... just as i was thinking how could anyone fit that, someone with an enviable figure in front of me bought at least 5 of them!
