So how does this work: items that are to be marked down are moved from the local Hermes boutiques and sent to this alternate location ? ?

what are typical mark-downs ?

In August, I think the mark-down was typically 40%. Scarves were $195 (at the time they retailed for $325). China was marked-down even more. HTH

I am planning a trip to NY in March and was thinking of this weekend ... can people who have been to this sale before tell me if it's worth targeting this date so that I could go, and will it be super picked over after the private sale is done? I am looking for a wallet and small leather goods. Thanks!

Sorry...I meant private shopping. I called corporate offices in NY this morning and they told me all the invites have been sent out...no more, gone,finished.
