New York Sale -- back on?

I agree with you. Yesterday, there was a young lady I asked to excuse me, she was taking photos of each glass display case containing the enamel bracelets; more than likely to send via text to a friend.

I thought photos were not allowed in the store. I heard the security stopping a girl when she just raised her cell phone yesterday (Thursday).

or to post on PF;) ?

seriously H style or not, they need to change line management next time. Ticketing system is the way to go. otherwise you get a mad experience with lots of angry customers. I think this is so much far from exclusivity this brand used to evoke. and in all honesty, from what i see the selection of silks was really much worse than at sales years back, no? mainly dark and less in demand colors... but then again, demand for H has grown....

I thought ticketing system would help the line management when I was in line, but when I was given the "line-holder" business card, I started to wonder if that would work. I can totally see some "professionals" taking a lot of tickets and selling them..

That's so weird because on first day they took away people's bags and phones. You could only bring a wallet in.

I thought phones were not allowed in the store, overheard someone being told, but after I checked in my bag and phone, I saw a lot of people holding their phones in their hands... Quite confusing.

Ah~~~~ I'm still kicking myself for putting back that bangle in the middle. I was getting so frustrated with the pushing and noise and couldn't get my head straight!

Great Choice!

Thanks. I was so woozy around that counter there was a 4th bracelet I wanted. I had to put it back. [emoji31] I wish I had the 5 limit because there was really 5 I wanted. [emoji37][emoji31][emoji22]

Literally got back half an hr ago from the sale, it was less than half an hr wait. Really slim pickings at this point. The smaller size bracelets (65 cm) didn't have much variety esp. if you were looking for thinner style bangles. The 70 cm had the most variety.

Tons of clothes still there, lots of dress shirts for men and sweaters/knits for women. Not a lot of ties left for guys.

I ended up just getting one tie for my father because it matched my school colors.
Seeing the white boxes with no scarves made me so sad :(

New Yorkers are accustomed to waiting in lines for the most asinine things...pretty much did this standing on my head. I am glad that I went, don't think I would do it again though. We'll see.

You made it laugh so hard :laugh::laugh: !! I guess the discount is just too good to pass on. If I ever went to a sale like this, it would be hard to go back to full price at the store.

I don't think anyone was expecting tour groups to attend a sample sale, I mean really? The shopping tour buses usually head upstate to Woodbury Commons. I did a little digging and found a Korean shopping website, geared towards 'things to do in the city' featuring the sale. The influx of shoppers was certainly unexpected, by Hermes and S.H. Hopefully it will prove to be a lesson learned.

Oddly enough cell phones were permitted, which they stated several times yesterday, but my baseball cap, that WASN'T permitted. I looked like a hot mess under there, especially considering how early I needed to rise and jump on the subway to get there by 6:30am I had to run into the ladies room and work major magic. They were terribly clear, either remove the hat or leave the line. Needless to say I removed the hat, I figured I'd never see most of those people ever again. :p

Maybe I just misheard the cellphone part. By the time I got in I was beyond exhausted. On top of that, I went alone and didn't eat or drink the whole day, so my brain was not quite functioning...

I've never been willing to stand in any line for more than an hour, I guess I used up the quota of my lifetime and showed my patriotism for that orange nation yesterday. :D:D:D

The bangle counter causes confusion because of the shoppers :
You have to wait to be served, which is common practice. However you aren't in "H" with "H" customers. Its a flea market. You don't want to be aggressive, but ... if you stand there several people will reach over you and talk to the SA. The staff was very professional and at one point a woman, reached around me, picked up a bracelet I was looking at - as in it was on the black plush tray- and the SA asked her to please put that back. I didn't say a word to her, clearly she was too far gone:p Then... you think you can get 5, but you can't! Only 3 today, so now you have to choose 3 and its not easy.
