Thx for the info! I hesitated on the black one on FOS and it sold out. Some of the retail department stores have them, but they aren't on sale. I'll wait. [emoji3]

Great that you picked up some holiday goodies. One thing to check off the list.
The FOS may have more in stock for this week's sale... you never know! They seem to play games with their inventory numbers sometimes, so "sold out" items occasionally reappear
I hope you find one at a good price! Like I said, the leather isn't really a huge issue, I was just curious - maybe the extra dyeing process softens it up? I probably wouldn't notice if I wasn't comparing to the super-soft oxblood (and my vintage black one that has 20+ years of wear, lol).

Hi there! I'm late to the party on this, but I recently stopped by an outlet to do an FOS return, and couldn't decide between these - so I grabbed both, obviously! I still have my old Patricia bag (black/brass) from the early 90s, so this was a good throwback for me with the different lining/hardware/topstitching

My question for you, since you have the same ones I do, is whether you think the black is a "rougher" leather than the oxblood? All of the black ones at the store were very rough-feeling, where my oxblood one is super soft. Especially the strap... the oxblood strap just kind of flops, but the black strap feels really stiff. I know with use/conditioning the leather will soften up, but it just seems interesting that only the black seems to have this issue. I also felt a few of the others (tan/blue/coral), and they all felt more soft/smooth than the black.
Just curious... I already decided I'm for sure keeping the oxblood, but since I already have a vintage black one, do I need another? The different hardware and lining/topstitch keeps calling to me, lol.

Hmm.. That's a good question! I haven't used both yet, only the black one (and I adore it). I'd have to give them both a good feel to see if there's a difference. I do get the feeling of the black one needing to be "worn in" a bit. Definitely stiffer than the classic bags that I have (Willis and Court), but I personally don't mind it.

The black one hasn't reappeared on FOS yet.

Oh nooo... And I didn't see any black ones at my outlet store yesterday when I went to exchange my Pacman stuff. Do you have an outlet store nearby that you can call/go to, just to see if they have any left?
Meanwhile, I'm now torn on keeping my black Patricia! I still have a few weeks to decide before the 60 day return policy is up, but I'm just trying to make up my mind.... I actually brought it with me last night but couldn't bring myself to return it yet, lol. I think it's the hardware, I'm just not used to the black-on-black thing (compared to my vintage one with the shiny brass hardware). But the black hardware does look good with a lot of bag charms, like the Pacman ones I grabbed!!

Decisions, decisions!!

My outlets are a bit of a trek so not very convenient. I keep saying I need to take a drive out one day lol.

So not sure if keeping? I love the gunmetal hardware on it. Like you said it looks good with a lot of the new charms (esp the hangtags) and it has the ring on the side to hang one from, which is perfect. [emoji3] Good luck with your decision lol.

Oh wait - is it black or gunmetal hardware?

It's technically "Dark Antique Nickel" but it gives off the effect of gunmetal. It just basically matches the bag, so if you're used to the hardware standing out like it does on the vintage version, it takes some getting used to! I love the contrast stitching and interior lining, which is definitely a difference from the old version.... and I did get to use the tiered coupon from a couple weeks ago, so I feel like I got a good deal!
Right now I am about 75-80% sure I'm keeping it, haha. I had bought the black Crosby too, and if I kept that one I would probably have let this one go (all the black bags!), but since that one was MFF/false advertising, I feel better with my 2 Patricias :)

Oh I gotcha about the hardware. I agree I totally love the contrast stitching and lining. I get tired of so many of the black bags having black interior. I do love black bags though. You can never have too many! Haha. [emoji3]

The mineral one I bought from the outlet sale was suppose to be ship yesterday but so far nothing.
I ordered the mineral too during the first sale and called to confirm if it was still going to ship and the rep told me it would ship on the 12th. On the last FOS they had them and the ship date was November 7th. I canceled my order. Waiting two months I lost the feeling of "needing" it in my collection.

Thanks for the update! I guess I'm too patient!

The oxblood and saddle colors of these are available on FOS right now - if you order over $200 you get an extra 20% off your purchase, it's a pretty amazing deal! I already have my oxblood, otherwise I'd order one!
