Dear TPF'ers,

I am considering the 24/24 bag is size 29. Now that some of you have been wearing it a while, what are the pros and cons? I like it because it has a casual vibe, and is large enough to carry the necessities, without being overwhelming. But is it heavy, hard to get in and out of, looks sloppy, hard to wear over the shoulder . . . ? I would love to hear all your thoughts.

Thanks for taking the time

I love this bag and would highly recommend it. It's very functional and just the right size--not to mention, there's a pocket in the back for easy access to your phone. I would describe it as the offspring of the Birkin and the Kelly. Pros and Cons from the Birkin & Kelly are remedied through the design of the 24/24 imho. It's not heavy and very easy to get in and out of. It's my go to bag for everything. It definitely doesn't look sloppy. I know some people are bothered by how the strap is fastened to the back of the bag and how it hangs, but it does not bother me at all because it's meant to be a shoulder bag and falls just right under the crook of my arm. I'm 5'7" for reference. I can see how it may be annoying if you're trying to wear it crossbody. I have this bag in black with gold hardware and just love it to pieces. It was an unplanned purchase but a very happy surprise. I have been wearing this bag more so than my Birkins and Kelly.

I've just joined the 24/24 club and want to chip in and say how functional this bag is as well. I love the back pocket! I know some have reservations about where the strap rings are and the shortness of the strap but I find it works well given where the bag sits when carried. It also allows me to swivel the bag towards my back and gives me more space to maneuver my arms when needed. That said I will still look for the right crossbody strap for when I need to free up both my arms.

I'm really glad I got the 24/24. I had been toying with the idea of another Kelly 28 in a classic H neutral as a workhorse bag but it just didn't feel right. I think the 24/24 provides the functionality without compromising on the H look.

The only thing is the clasp can be a little bit fiddly but honestly I don't know how they can make it less fiddly while trying to keep the spirit of the Birkin and Kelly.

I had been thinking about getting the mini before I got the 29. Now that I have the 29, I'm really glad I got this size - it really looks smaller than it is despite its depth. Attaching a comparison pic with my Kelly 28 for reference.

Thank you @Sourisbrune! The black 24/24 is a great classic. Hope you get yours soon!!!
How you like your 29, so far? I was leaning towards the 21, but just found out I have to carry two cell phones (instead of one), and I’m going to be accompanying my daughter on sets- I’ll be sitting around for long days. I need to bring something to do (my iPad). The 29 would fit my activities nicely.
Is the turn lock still a slight bother?

Hi, I am loving the size 29. The more I look at it the more I like the proportions - however I've always thought the presence of H designs are reflected better in medium to large sizes (by today's mini bag standards!) so I might not be the most objective. The size would be perfect for a full day out. I also like that the handle has enough room for me to slip it over my wrist though I don't carry it for long periods that way.

The turn lock is getting better with practice. I have figured out a way to close the bag with one hand while wearing it by grabbing the turn lock and using the bottom hard flap as leverage until it slips into place. The back pocket also helps a lot - I'm able to keep both phones there so don't really need to access the main compartment when I'm not sitting down or where there isn't a surface available for leverage.

I would recommend a thicker strap though as the thin strap can get uncomfortable after a while, but that is easily remedied and another source of fun!

I’m happy that you like your bag.
I agree- thin straps can be a little painful. I plan on wearing it crossbody with a long, wider strap, if it looks okay.
Thank you for the update.:flowers:
