Wow, interesting…how do you think they would they have tracked your items to fashionphile (and does that even count as reselling since it’s definitely at a loss). Glad you were able to resolve that situation in the end!

Well it is mostly assumption on my part as they would not disclose exactly what had triggered them. But I am a small fish in the scheme of Chanel spenders, there is nothing on my profile to suggest any type red flag. But the fact that I had just made a couple of sales to FP and the fact that right after I made a tread here FP stopped picturing the full hologram and I never heard of this happing again lead me to believe Chanel had been monitoring FP.

Seems like a sound assumption to me! I did notice that full holograms are no longer on FP…

It sounds really unbelievable that Chanel is doing this to obviously genuine clients who are not resellers. But really? Over just two pairs of earrings? I don’t understand why. Is everything at Chanel so popular that they have to be so hard handed? The earrings you had bought were costume jewellery I suppose? If it’s fine jewellery I would be even more flabbergasted.
Yes, they were costume jewelry. Trust me, I am more shocked than you are LOL

Hi im so sorry this has happened. Im just wondering if you have purchased more than the limit for the year? Or you may have purchased two or three of the same kind before? I know hermes monitors clients and sellers online. A friend of mine had a call because they traced her hermes bag being sold. But because she is a high spender of fine jewellery she was told that next time she didn’t like the bag she can return even pass the date no problem just not resell. If she was a regular client she would have been banned for sure. Chanel must be doing this now too. Id be so devastated being banned and not given a concrete reason or if I couldnt explain myself that im not reselling. I myself let go of items i have fallen out of love to consignment but mostly at a loss. The consignment is earning not me.

Don't be sorry! It's not your fault. The earrings were different styles and I still own all of my pieces, so I can't imagine how they could attribute someone selling their earrings to that being me, unless they made a gross mistake (which if that is the case, then they did). I did not even know there was a limit on costume jewelry and if there was, I'd hope my SA of over 5 years would tell me. I have not purchased tons of Chanel since Virginie took over anyway since her designs are not really my taste. When new collections would come out, my SA would send me pics of pieces and I'd pick up a couple pieces each season, so I wasn't buying truckloads of stuff to begin with. But, my SA left and I hadn't bought anything for a long time and then found out about this ban once I tried to buy an SLG in December. It's all very bizarre to me.

Hi! Does anyone know of a couple of “hybrid” boutiques where the limits don’t apply? Not looking to get a ton but I’m definitely eyeing a few from the upcoming collections and the new limit is really making it difficult to choose. Lists and reserves fill up so quick at stores. I don’t like the idea of buying from a reseller for bags that are available but can’t be purchased because of limits! Tia!

oh i see.. if you were not buying over the 12 bags and 12 slg’s a year, did they say why there was a ban on your account. At least an explanation and until when it is valid? I feel if your Sa was still working there, the could have fixed and explained your situation and that he/she knows you and a regular client. Do you mind me asking if you buy from other boutiques as well? Coz with the limits nowadays they surely look now where we buy whether a dept store and stand alone. From my knowledge, some dept store wouldnt be able to see the stand alone purchases but stand alone can view all.

That is very bizarre that they would ban a customer for buying 2 pairs of different earrings. Makes absolutely no sense and it doesn’t help that they were so rude.

Apparently I am completely banned now because I bought two pairs of earrings last May. I didn't even know there was a limit on jewelry. I would think that my SA would have told me there was a limit, but apparently my ban only went into effect in October, so I guess they are retroactively looking into people's profiles...
Wow that sucks to hear and it’s annoying that the SA who helped you with the transaction didn’t inform you that. I was lucky that my SA told me that I wasn’t allowed to buy 2 slgs last week. I couldn’t imagine that I bought two without knowing and then be accused as a reseller. I hope they would lift the ban on you soon!

Sorry for asking. May I ask if you have ever sold Chanel bags/items on FashionPhile or any consignment website? I’m trying to figure what could cause the ban as I think buying 2 earrings should not be a problem as I believe many people do this.

So I called chanel 1-800 and they did confirmed 1 bag per month and 1 slg per month per customer.

Can someone explain these resellers getting tons of stuff every week, let’s say they got their sis, bro, mom, dad on the chanel accounts still, it doesn't explain amount of stuff they buy per week or month even. It’s sucks cuz this will enable regular clients to go directly towards resellers to get their hands on stuff.

In my country, regular customers have limits of 12 bags per year but VICs have no purchasing limits whatsoever. Perhaps some of these resellers are/have direct contacts with VICs?

Totally not a fan of seeing current collection items on some of these sites.

Wait, I'm flabbergasted at the post about being banned over 2 earrings? :eek:I didn't even know there was a limit on fashion jewelry. And then handed a "special card" at the boutique, as if a crime was committed, so it's like 'dial this number' to find out your offense lol It's so ridiculous, it's hard to believe.
