New Carryall in Monogram Empreinte

So I'm super picky with a bag purchase at this price point, so my perspective may differ from others. Here are my issues with the bag:

1. The microfiber lining looks gorgeous but makes the bag needlessly heavy, and the 2 I tried on in store already had a ton of lint inside. The name "Carryall" implies this should be an everyday bag, really wish it was more lightweight. This is my issue with the empreinte Neverfull as well.
2. While I appreciate the strap can be adjusted to shoulder or crossbody--the crossbody length is slightly too short for me, and that is how I would wear this bag a majority of the time.
3. I didn't like the way the bag folded in and creased when I put my things inside, when worn crossbody. It may not be an issue when worn on the shoulder.
4. Not so much a functionality issue but a quality issue--the 2 bags I tried on in store both had luggage tags with the gold LV super off-center. It just left a bad taste in my mouth to see such poor attention to detail, on something that is a central design feature of the bag.

May I ask how tall you are? I wanted to order the bag, but I am 6 ft tall, so I think this bag is not for me.

Candace, not trying to make a Carryall believer out of you but I want to reply.

1. The microfiber lining does contribute to weight no doubt but what a wonderful luxurious feel when reaching in your bag! The PM weighs 1 lb 4 ounces and I don’t think that is heavy at all. The MM on the other hand I found inordinately heavy.

The name "Carryall" to me implied it could carry all… and for me the PM certainly carries my daily essentials. And the huge MM would certain carry all essentials and work stuff. The Neverfull MM in canvas could do the job lighter for sure.

2. Carrying crossbody works great on my 5’1” frame although I don’t see myself doing that very often. So if one wishes crossbody than another option might be a better choice.

3. I am not sure what folding in and creasing you experienced but I have not been able to recreate it.

4. Wow and I handled three Carryalls and all were flawless. I am surprised your boutique would have even had bags with such flaws on their sales floor.

Hi there! I'm about 5'2" (158cm), with a fairly long torso for my height. It was a bit too short crossbody--I didn't feel like I could access the zipper that comfortably when wearing it that way. At 6 feet tall, you'd have to be sure you like wearing crossbodies really high up.

Thanks to @Candace30 and @DesigningStyle for providing pros & cons. I haven’t been to the boutique to see one in person yet. It’s looks beautiful in pics, but it’s nice to get some feedback from those who’ve seen it in person.

Regarding micro fiber as interior textile, I know it’s being used on “premium” bags range, but it’s really irritating as it attracts lint / dirt / little balls of linen, much like a kitchen rag does.

I serious think a a more textile could be used instead, higher quality nylon? I don’t know. It feels like a kitchen rag in my bag when they use microfiber textile for bags.

I am 5' 1" and it would not be a comfortable crossbody fit if I were even .5" taller!

I have never had the issue with lint or fuzz inside my bags with microfiber lining. I remember when the empreinte line first came out (2010?) with the same striped canvas interior as the Neverfull. I was not a fan of the pairing and felt it was a real disconnect from the luxe leather.

Just received my carryall mm empriente. Blue microfiber lining is so luxurious. My laptop fits nicely . So far I don’t have see any issue and bag look perfect for work purposes.

I just received my carryall pm empriente and I think it's a beautiful bag! I'd like to wear it over the shoulder but when I put the straps on the shortest setting, the bottom of each strap hangs down below the bag and it looks very messy. Is anyone else having this issue? I'd like to try to make it work but not sure that I can live with the straps.

I put mine on the 3rd hole on both side and I feel the length is perfect that way. Also I got the mm size

Thanks! I'm fairly short (5'2") so I like a shorter strap and unfortunately, I can't seem to make it work. I agree that if I put it on the 3rd hole, the straps don't hang down too low, but then I don't like how the purse falls against my body. Bummer! I think it's going back. I'm glad it works for you and I hope you enjoy it!!!

Thanks so much! They had several Carry All PMs in stock but none looked like the gorgeous website photos. Also the style looked and felt more plain in person to me. You will probably laugh, but I have been admiring the black Speedy 20 off and on for awhile — just assumed it would be too small to be useful for me. Yesterday I was able to try one at the store and it easily held my daily items. So I’m going to give myself a few days to think it over, and watch a few more Speedy 20 YouTube videos….
