No regrets. I have the med in silver and it's only my second Bal bag, and apart from both being silver, it's nothing like my first (Bowling).

I had nothing like a Le City, I was really late to the party (literally, leftover food, dishes to wash and everyone asleep on the couch or crashed on the floor). My least structured bags, my BV or Gucci hobos, are mostly rounded, so I was actively looking for a fancy tote, however I thought I wanted a Small, I'm glad I ended-up with a Med. It's a very easy bag, I've worn it every day this week, work, play, day and evening, even to the ballet. The silver laminated version is kinda casual and at the same time a bit edgy. Usually my bags are more formal. I feel it goes with so many outfits, but it makes them look a different way depending. Everyone I bump into loves it.

In terms of use, I find it very light in comparison to other bags from other brands (mostly Gucci and Hermes). It feels sturdy enough but I feel like I mustn't overload or mis-shape.

I've had my other Bal for over 14 years and still feel proud to use it, I'm hoping the same for this, I still think they are expensive. I think all the major luxury brands have lost the plot on price-points.

Interesting review @papertiger - thank you. I haven’t caved yet, looked again though and decided the small is the right size for me. Sorry now of course that I sold my previous version City Smalls years ago, and also my lovely Towns. Today’s prices are, I agree, pretty outrageous but they are what they are..

It looks like they are discontinuing the greyish/beige colour that comes in the silver hardware. I don’t see it listed on the website anymore but the other colours are still there. Anw, the leather does get softer over time but I wish they would sell shoulder straps with more support so I can swap them out with the one that comes with the bag

I went to Bal yesterday (tried to go to Chanel and was appalled that you need an appointment to get in..I mean get real! I was like ...even an Sat and sun with all the foot traffic on Rodeo?
I knew they started this obnoxious policy at Chrome Hearts..but Chanel? The guard said they might just let me in but I'm Black and I told him I highly doubt that with the usual heat I get at the average stores on Rodeo...he was to and agreed but said it was worth a shot if I had to get in, but I was just going to molest a jumbo..the quilting in the window was looking rather flat and I still dream of a puffy one one day)

Le.City is Le let down. Didn't feel or look remarkable unless there is something better that wasn't on floor

The Rodeo is really cool. So soft and I even dig the junbo! I detest the charms...except for the little silver bag that only comes on the special edition jumbo black.if I understood correctly. Too bad. $10 grand

But that bag would break in so lovely I 🤔 😍😍😍🤨 think! I really want one.

But that pre scratched faded version is silly...I thought is was a beat up floor model. Is anyone buying this with the sides all dusty looking and faded and the scratches? No offense meant if that's your thing...I was just shocked. And they did admit it's a bite on the twins's bag. Brilliant idea.

So soft 😢 🤧

Hi everyone! Happy new year! I have a question for you : I don't have a Balenciaga store nearby my place and would like to buy online the small City in black. I am hesitating between the one with brass hardware / Arena Storico leather and the one with shiny silver hardware / Arena leather. Do you guys know what the difference is between the 2 leathers : Arena and Arena Storico? Thank you!

Hi from what the SA told me previously, the one with shiny silver hardware has more of a glossy waxy look whereas the one with the brass hardware doesn’t have that treatment.

The SA in Milano told me Arena storico is the leather as per the old version, lamb is the new one, and he suggested that the lamb new version is better because it will age better. Indeed at the touch the Arena storico feels a little like paper, kind of a dry feeling also, while the lamb to me feels more supple. I got the lamb one in black and silver, small size

They are likely both lamb but with different treatments. I doubt they brought back the goatskin.

Can be that they are both lamb, in any case I think one is called Arena storico and the other Arena lamb and they feel different, in some case you find the same bag in both leathers, for example the black with silver hardware. On some website is even confusing because they look the same, and it seems they selle the same bag twice :) you understand the difference only by the detailed description and if someone tells you and make you notice the difference in shop.

I just checked and one is called Arena Storico lambskin and the other Arena lambskin.

You can't trust the photos or descriptions on other websites, and sometimes not even on Balenciaga's own website. I had to send back a Rodeo I bought on Saks.com because both the picture and the written description were wrong. I couldn't rely on either for accuracy. The wrong description was also repeated on Balenciaga's own website, though they have since corrected it.
