Hi! I am eying the metallic grey one but darker than yours. I don’t have a store selling Balenciaga nearby and was wondering how the leather is : as it is metallic, isn’t it too stiff and if so do you think it will soften with time? Thank you!

You should know I'm no expert on Bal bags. I only have one other and it's stiff as a board (also silver) and I love that one too. I bought it primarily for style and secondly for practical reasons. Compared with so many other bags I had, it's a fashion bag, I don't want to worry about it, it looks good with anything, I can use it for work or weekends and it's good in the rain. I have many other bags I bought just for the leather.

I see the dark grey online, they seem to be the same leather/finish just different colours, so yes comparable. The dark grey is really nice too.

I don't know how to describe. I actually find it quite soft already. Not undulating nor puddling soft, but just relaxed soft. The 'cracked' lamination gives it a texture. Not only does it look shiny but it feels shiny too. I don't think it will ever feel like a limp, light 'pool' of soft organic leather because of the lamination. If you're hoping for a uniformly soft 'wave' of leather I don't think it will be one of the metallics, you may want to pick a different colour.

The city has never been a crossbody bag. What you've posted shows the longest the strap has ever been, except for some special cities that had the longer strap and even those weren't long enough to wear cross body.
I've used the planet key ring to make my city crossbody before when in NYC etc. I don't wear it this was regularly, but when in congested areas it's worked well.

I am going to Balenciaga tomorrow to get my very first Bal bag. I will get the Le City In Medium but I am thorn between Beige and Blue. What would you pick?

TIA!!
I love the blue and going back and forth on it. I don’t want to pay the full price as these 9 months ago were being sold on the pre loved for around $900. 3k is a big jump but I have everything back the pop of color is what I want. I love switching up my goyard color bags. For anyone that bought it in any color is the quality worth now 3k?

Has anyone bought the new large le city bag. It’s crossbody and fits over shoulder. I’m just struggling to spend over $3k. The medium is always on the pre loved not the large. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts. Should I buy it or hold off and hope to get it used later on.

Is the medium too small for your needs?

I touched a few different Le City bags at Nordstrom, and I found the leather quality to be different on each bag. I do not know if it is color-dependent; there was a hot pink one that was the best leather. The white bag and black bag I touched felt like plastic. They did not have blue or beige.

I’m thinking of getting the bag in either a small or mini for travelling as a crossbody. I like that the bag comes with a zip so I can feel secure storing my valuables 😁 keen to find out opinions about which size works better as some of the colours for the new le city bag don’t come in the mini size. And on an unrelated note, do you think balenciaga will release MORE colours for this bag?

You can always get a classic city (size of a medium) with long straps. Like this one for a fraction of the price. The large is so large that it's not really an every day bag, unless you need to haul a ton of documents and equipment or need a fancy diaper bag.

It’s big but I like oversized bags especially when I can wear them different way. I’m tall so it looks ok. Or I think it does. lol
