New 2024 Le City - What do we think?

I almost bought the XL silver LC at Bal Kuala Lumpur but hesitated because while I love how lightweight the bag is despite of the size, it feels too plasticky to touch and I hate the fact that the strap doesn't have shoulder pad like the old city. For those of you who bought the silver ones, does the leather get softer over time? And does it fade easily?
I have it in black with silver hardware in the medium size. Honestly I love the bag if I am carrying it on my arm and the way it looks but it can get quite heavy if there’s too much stuff in it. The bag tends to tilt either front or back if I use the shoulder strap, I’m guessing it’s because the strap doesn’t support much on weight distribution - so that can be somewhat annoying. Also do note that the strap isn’t adjustable for the medium size bags that were launched in the silver hardware but I believe if you are buying the newer colours with the brass hardware. That being said, I am extremely tempted to get the mini size as it would be a great bag to use for travelling imo
No regrets here! I have the medium in green. It softens a bit with use. I like the longer strap and leather whipstitched handles. My one complaint is the hardware feels cheap compared to my vintage ones.
@lovepoppy Thanks so much for your reply and review. I was thinking of the small but now I think I should consider the mini as well. I hadn’t decided between silver or brass but either way, I’ll check the strap - thanks for the heads-up!
I would purchase one of these just to have from this whole re-edition bag trend that houses are doing. I like the newness and the colors. The search for the originals is fun, but for me, I’ve found it can take a long time verifying authenticity, cleanliness, condition of the originals, and I become short on time for these fun things the older I get 🤣
For what it’s worth, I appreciate the current sizing too. The “medium” is the size of a classic city. The “mini” is a tad smaller than the mini city that’s been out for a while. The “small” is somewhere in between, like a town almost. I’d be willing to purchase the small size in a classic color just to have as part of my collection and for the just-right sizing. I’ve always wished for a tad smaller city but larger than the mini in a cool color. And the “small” city that was out isn’t available in many colors. I always just find black. Would love to get this bag in the different neutralsthey have - latte, camel, the army green. For these reasons, I’ll surely be sharing a purchase here in the near future 🤣 Unsure about the leather quality and hoping others can share their opinion as more purchases are made!

I was speaking to some SAs and apparently they're moving away from the silver hardware and will only be producing the bag in brass hardware - which is why all of the newer colours all come in only brass hardware. however, they said that the black in silver hardware will be a mainstay in the line but unsure about the other colours. also, the leather for the silver hardware releases have a waxy, glossy finish, whereas the ones that are in the brass hardware do not - hence those leathers appear to be more natural (I forgot the exact word the SA mentioned). anw @prof ash if you're looking at specific colours that are always OOS at your local boutiques, just ask your SA and they will should be able to find it for you!

I think it's brilliant that they are re-doing the motorcycle bags. I love them. I missed them. There were so many colors, and styles I bought and sold, so overtime I'm only left with the OG black First.

I have bought and sold many - emerald part time , turquoise town , rouille first , even traded a rare Rose first and Vert City for a 25 cm Birkin!

Keeping my Ink 06 First as it was my first Bal , selling out the Lilac 06 and rethinking the Vermillon City. I think Anthracite messenger and City are must haves for travel and no brain carry outs. Just found 2 brand new cities and my Black rose gold envelopes in the cupboard in my home country .. I was away during Covid in another country and forgot about my pristine Glycine City and Mauve City !
Wondering which I should send off if I need wardrobe space …
