Omg unicorn prancing in the stockroom alright! Totally cool and rare with gold hardware which I normally don't like, but only on this puppy picotin MYH! Congrats! What a fab pico!
Thanks lanit. It's so hard to pass up unicorns at H. Well...you know.

Love your story and didn't know so much behind it !!! Your family of Picos is darling. The indigo looks almost black and is very versatile. Thanks for shopping the twilly for me as well as trying a new way of tying it with only one tail. Thank you !!
Yes, it changes from black to dark blue. I love it's versatility. Thanks you for the nice compliments about my trio of Picos.

Pico family is beautiful! Sounds like you really had a blast in Vegas. Congrats!!!😄
We did. You must join us next time!

This is such a fun thread to read through, thank you MYH and PbP for sharing your experiences!! I loved seeing all of your purchases and reading your stories. I am now inspired to take out my Petit H silk cords and scarf rings to try and make something of them...! 😊
Oh yes! please get those silk cords out. Happy you are enjoying this thread.

Your Pico is so gorgeous! I love it. It was such a great opportunity to be able to see it at the meetup. What incredible luck to find that rare gem! You sure did the right thing to grab it. Congratulations!
I love your bicolor Pico too darling! Your color combo is perfect for you.

That must've been a super fun weekend!!! I am tempted to join you ladies in the Vegas meetup next time [emoji4][emoji4]
Please come next time! I would love to meet you.

Always so inspired by your thread. I had not thought about a pico before until I saw yours. It's drop dead gorgeous. I will be on the hunt for one now. And to report back h.com canceled my order for the de la mer au ciel and took it off right after. So I'm scouring evilbay or hope it will show up at the H sale this summer.
Oh I'm so sorry your de la mer au cel was cancelled. Was it the same cw I have? Thank you for letting me know you are enjoying my thread.

Love all your stories MYH! It was awesome meeting you in Vegas and thanks for sharing how to tie all those different scarves. Too bad we didn't have more time. Congrats on your amazing score!
You're so very welcome! I'm happy you enjoyed the scarf demo. I wish I would have had more time to chat with you in Vegas. :hugs:

I'm so happy for you! All your picos are gorgeous!!!
Thanks Sappho! Loved meeting you in Vegas too.

Such a pretty Picotin.
Thank you dear. I'm a sucker for Picotins.

All righty! Shall we keep the scarf partybus going? Ok at this point, I don't even remember which scarves I have covered and which ones I haven't. So if I repeat myself, I'm sorry!

Today I wanted to play with my black kellycut that I found in Paris at FSH so a natural match for this clutch is my Colliers de Chiens scarf.

I really do have mixed feelings about this scarf and waiver back and forth on it constantly. Here's why.

I originally bought this scarf because I wanted an "evening" scarf. I definitely categorize scarves based on design and cw into dressy evening, daytime casual, bright and fun, etc. and when I bought this scarf, I was lacking in the dressy evening category.

One of the reasons I bought this scarf was for the design. For some reason, I just cannot make the CDC bracelets work for me. I think I type too much throughout the day and the spikes just interfere with that. Also, although I love how this bracelet looks and think it is beautiful on others, it just doesn't seem to coordinate with my existing wardrobe. So instead of forcing it, I'm at peace with CDCs not loving me back. The plus side is my wallet thanks me for this reprieve. So when I heard H was going to make a scarf in this pattern, I was all over it! I could finally join in the CDC party in a way that works for me!

I think this literally was the first one to arrive in KOP in July of 2013. I didn't even wait to see the other cws (very unlike me) but I think I might have been at my peak of scarf obsession back then. Throwing caution to the wind! :lolots:

I loved how the yellow in it was like gold jewelry. I loved the touches of Colvert blue in it too. Resistance was futile so it came home with me. What I didn't realize was how much yellow was in the border. And tied in a cowboy knot, a lot of yellow shows. Grrr...so my solution was to tie a biased fold necklace with it most of the time to hide the border. And I do like it that way but it doesn't have as much versatility as I would like.

So this scarf went from a rating of "Love" to "Neutral" after I figured out the yellow in the border didn't love me back.:rolleyes::rolleyes: And to make matters worse, the only handbag I had to match it was my black lambskin Chanel flap which I no longer really used or liked after discovering Hermes bags. So I didn't have an evening bag to use with this scarf until now! :yahoo:

With a black kelly cut in my collection, I think this scarf is going to make a comeback! Now I have the right accessories and bags to coordinate with this scarf. And I have an en desordre twilly that perfectly matches all of it. It was my first time tying a twilly onto my kelly cut and I really like it! I hope you can see it because it blends in with the scarf background. I threw in my grand loop necklace and some VCA for fun into the photo.

It's really interesting how a scarf can go in and out of favor with me based solely on having the right handbag/clutch to coordinate with it. So that's an interesting lesson for me...I must make sure I have an existing handbag in my collection to go with a scarf before I buy it. And having the right accessories helps a bunch too!

Here's some photos of my CDC scarf.

Hello darlings! What is it now? Wednesday. OMG. :sweatdrop:

This past TPF meet in Vegas was a whirlwind of activities, fun, food, and new friends. H bags galore (big, small, bright, neutral, classy, fun) and silks every which way I looked. I also loved seeing how people personalize their bags with twillies, charms, rodeos, and more. It's really great fun to see how all our personalities come out in the bags we choose.

I have only now finished unpacking and putting my scarves back in their drawers. And of course, after the clean-up, comes the fun! Taking photos of new purchases. I was really trying to "be good" on this trip, especially since it was on the heels of Paris. I felt I had done enough damage there already lol. But then something fell into my lap...and well....I couldn't say no.

Here's what happened. (I apologize if my stories are yawn inducing. If you're short on time, don't feel bad about skipping ahead to the photos) I arrived in Vegas on Thursday to meet up with my sis and her BF. I also had some "business" to take care of at Hermes. I needed to find a group gift for dear Chkpfbeliever as a thank you for organizing the Vegas National Meet. Prior to the meet, many of us had contributed money to buy her an Hermes cake and another small H gift. I already had something but needed to exchange it and I knew what I was looking for. I was on a mission to find a twilly to match her turquoise K28.

Sis and I went to Bellagio first and luckily found the twilly I had in mind. Success! Here's a photo of her lovely kelly and her group gift Millefleurs twilly. Chkpfbeliever- I hope it's ok I put your bag in the spotlight here on this thread! Perfection!

I was also slightly distracted by an etain MM Picotin on display and after playing with it for a bit, I decided it was very pretty and would be super useful but alas....it did not make my heart go pitter patter.

So I think I should back up here a bit and tell you about my obsession with Picotins. I'm not sure how it started TBH. I think it was right at the beginning of my H journey. The first bag I ever purchased was a Pico. At first I bought it because it's price was palatable to me (a newbie) and I thought it was cute. I thought I may eventually grow tired of it and move onto other bags but that didn't happen at all! I did move onto Kellys and Evelynes, but my fondness for the Picotin has never subsided. To me the pros with a Pico are you can get a fun color (because it's rather small and a bright color doesn't overwhelm), it's under the radar unlike a Birkin, it still has the utility of a small tote (just reach your hand inside without fiddling with flaps and locks), the handles are so so comfortable in the crook of your arm, and the price is not too eye-watering. I've never been able to commit to a Birkin so the Picotin is the best solution for me and my life-style. But of course, I have to make life difficult for myself because I only like one size. The MM size. Which unfortunately, is the hardest one to find.

So out of habit, I ask for them whenever I go to a H boutique. Just to see what they might have. :grouch: Most of the time I just get a head shake from the SA - no - nothing in MM. And a reminder from the SA that it's the scarcest size. Yeah - yeah - I know.

So while we were in a H shopping mood, we decided to take the tram from Bellagio to Crystals to see what else they might have. Sis was looking for a colvert calvi, I wanted more malachite accessories or another color baby pavane, and of course I'm always interested in 140cm silks too.

My Crystals SA was not there but another super nice SA greeted us at the door and said she would be happy to fill in. We looked in the Calvi drawer - no Colvert. Only in a Bastia. Shoot. No baby pavane bracelets...discontinued. No accessories in malachite. We were striking out left and right. So as is my habit, I asked about a Picotin MM. Instead of the normal head shake no, she lights up and says they have a prunoir one! Well, now we're talking...let's have a looksee!

She comes back with 2 boxes and looks disappointed. She had mis-spoke. No prunoir. But she did have an etain MM (just passed on this at Bellagio) so I said no and explained we just saw one at Bellagio and it wasn't for me. Then she says she has another one... a blue indigo/orange poppy eclat. Say what? Come again? I've seen them in PM but never MM. So I confirm that it's a MM before she breaks open the shrink wrap. She says yes, it's a MM and with gold hardware. I nearly fainted. She might as well have just told me she found a unicorn prancing around in the stockroom and was able to catch it and bring it to me. I was giddy. And to tell you the truth, before the trip to Vegas, I had been thinking in my head that I needed a casual bag in dark blue. I was thinking more along the lines of blue sapphire but hey, we all know we can't be picky when it comes to H!

She opened the box and I was a goner. I felt guilty for a millisecond...but then realized I would be CRAZY to leave that unicorn there. So here she is! I think she goes quite nicely with De La Mer Au Ciel. And because I'm not a stickler for exact color matching, I think my capucine illusion bracelet goes nicely with the orange poppy underneath the handles. I also like her with my en desordre twilly.

I love that indigo/ poppy picotin!! My boutique had it and if not for the fact that I already have an indigo birkin, I would have pounced. The GHW is especially beautiful with this color combination. Congrats on a gorgeous new find!!

I'm a little late to chime in, just saw your gorgeous indigo/orange poppy at the Annual tPF Meet tread and it's gorgeous [emoji170] Came here to feast on some more pics [emoji7] I have the little sister ( pm size) with same specs and I didn't know there is a MM too. Your pico collection is fabulous, hope to add another someday, love this bag! Congrats MYH for finding this unicorn [emoji1]

Yay, we are twins in this silk! Your comments mirror my sentiments about it so well. Though I succumbed eventually to a Brenda CDC, my first and likely only CDC that I will wear.i do love this silks coloration though, the deep blues, taupe, blackl and pops of yellow do make it work best with indigo and black. And now I have a black Halzan to pair it with as well as my indigo Evi. It looks terrific with white denim jacket in summer too dear. Glad it has made a comeback on your likes silk list.

I'm quite new to TPH and Hermes, so it's taken a while to "discover" all the really interesting threads. I'm so happy to have found MaiTai's threads, picturebook and now this funny and instructive thread.

Since beginning this journey, I too have traveled to Paris, experienced the agony of defeat after 1.5 hours in line at FSH and then the glorious moment when a beautiful Kelly was offered the next day. I just purchased a b/w Tyger, Tyger from my home store, so my journey is now taking me into the sumptuous arena of scarves. I have so much to learn and will thoroughly enjoy taking my time reading this entire thread.

I did find the start of your and PbP's Paris adventure and totally loved it!!! It looked like you had better weather than I did at the end of March. I think that my trips to FSH were a little unappreciated by me since it was only the second H store I've ever visited. I wish I could go back in time and savor every minute (of my second visit) again.

Thank you for sharing your joy with us. I love your conversational writing style. And thank you to PbP for her embellishments and details of your wonderful trip.

Thank you TGG! Your indigo B sounds divine! I really love the dark blue almost black color. Gives the bag a little extra oomph!

So happy I have your big sister! I also didn't know they made a MM size as I have never seen it and only heard about people trying to track one down and eventually giving up! So I felt I had found a unicorn and could not leave it behind. :roflmfao:

Twinsies! Thanks for the tip on a white denim jacket. I'm jealous you made one CDC work. I have yet to make any work. LOL. Thanks for stopping by Lanit. I always enjoy your photos and posts.

Hi there and welcome to TPF! there are so many great threads to read. Also look into Tango Tosca's scarf circus thread. It's also a wealth of information. Thanks for writing to me to say you are enjoying my thread. I kind of feel like I have a bunch of virtual GF's on TPF and it's my pleasure to share my experiences and lessons learned.

OK, I just flipped through this thread and realized I already covered my Colliers de Chiens scarf. Why didn't anyone tell me? oy! I'm that old lady who keeps repeating herself! How embarrassing!

It looked different , and better , second time round . That epitomises the beauty of Hermès that can get lost on the Forum . The beauty of a single scarf .
We're up to our gunnels in divine and to die for silk , bags and whatever; but look at just one scarf and how it is completely wonderful !

I'm a great one to expound the art of now. :roflmfao:
As soon a the next 2 scarves are delivered I promise to find my inner Zen H
