My dear, of course we are friends. But you too are well...1/4 way across the country and I include you with my tpf silky friends although a very very special one. And you are my fashion and scarf guru. So you are in a league of your own of special friends. [emoji8]

Not a bad start at making amends my dear. [emoji8]

Ha! See? A little tpf DRAH-MA!

You two are just too cute! :winkiss:

Thank you so much for your sage advice and input pirula and froufrou, I am very sorry MYH, I did exchange my CI for the Zenobie scarf. After thinking about it and trying on Zenobie again today, it just feels more like "me". I also think it accomplishes the b and w look that MYH achieves with her CSMC. I won't bother you guys again with my back and forth, but thank you all again for so much support, you get it!:hbeat:

I love this one so much better on you and in general for a b&w scarf! Congrats!

Lovely lovely post MYH I could read your words all day , you have all of life in there ! I can feel your angst and then your joy .
No wonder, it's a fabulous scarf and my favourite pattern too . Funnily enough the navy border doesn't impact on its beauty for me , in fact I feel that there's a perfect symmetry and balance with the interior .
Imagine it with a contrast hem and no border , it would look awful, no?
[ In fact now that H have heard our cries for to the edge design, no border and a contrast hem, for me it's started to pall . Perversely I've started liking borders now …]
Something about the central medallion and the flowers against that maze-like trellis
in this colour way gives it a slightly geometric vibe which I love .
So happy to be your twin on this one , completely different to the red I've had for ages .
Your post made me belly laugh! Be careful what we wish for right? I think I still prefer designs all the way to the edge but it's true, now if I see a scarf with a big border, I kind of know right away that it's "vintage". They do seem a bit more special now in a way. I agree.

And I too love the orange trellis/maze design in the middle. And your red cw would be my next choice if I were to acquire another one.

Honey - don't worry! You should buy what you love. Ya don't need to please me! I like both on you but the CI just a little better. I hope it's ok to say that. I stand by my original choice! :p But really, you couldn't go wrong with either.

Gosh you got yourself another beauty my dear MYH[emoji173]️[emoji173]️... I love the beautiful story behind the design but what I truly enjoy more than even that is the way you tell your story behind each of these treasures that you have collected.... I can relate to it all too well [emoji3][emoji3].. Many congrats on your new shawl. Which design do you choose? Can't wait to see you post mod shots of it[emoji173]️[emoji8]...its been 7 months of shawl collecting for me and some of it is already a blur for me[emoji23][emoji51]... The frenzy, the excitement and the euphoria are all too real [emoji4][emoji4]...thank you for this amazing thread [emoji173]️[emoji173]️
I'm not telling....I'm not telling...until I get it Monday. Only 7 mos for you dear? I feel like you have been a regular fixture here on the scarf threads for ages! See, it is a blur to me and I am getting older...

I totally understand. My best memories of that store are going to pick out new scarves for my grandmother and we had laser like focus. In fact Richard Simmons walked by (he picked out several silks for himself) and I barely recognized him. At that time he wore spandex into Hermes! Anyway I am going to put that 10 motif on my wish list for DH and hope to see it later in the year.
Excuse me...Richard Simmons shopped in KOP? How did I miss this? In spandex? Man, I must really have my blinders on when I'm at the boutique. Can't wait to see your 10 motif!

Hello my dear! Not this one but I have a confession to make. I did buy another 70 that now makes me twin with myh - rose de compas! My Minuit order got canceled [emoji45] and I went online to reorder it but it had sold out (probably the reason why they canceled it) and I saw the green RDC. I remember seeing it when it first came out and liking that cw a lot but I had just so many others on my list. I hadn't seen the RDC online in a while so when it popped up I thought WTH and grabbed it. That said, I will probably still hunt for Minuit in the boutiques at some point.

And of course MetM,which both Myh and MaiTai have. I actually got it from a Japanese reseller and it came in perfect condition for a very fair price. The funny thing is, their website was primarily in Japanese (which I know nothing of) and I just guessed when entering my info and submitted my order with fingers crossed. It miraculously arrived a few days later. Crazy.
Ah! another twin. I'm so pleased you got the Rose de Compass. It's really a nifty little scarf. And you got MetM too! Wonderful. That one is a classic and is perfect with brown, neutral or black outfits.

Ahem. First of all, I take exception to PbP's statement that NONE of her girlfriends share her H obsession. What am I? Chopped liver? We've met! We've broken bread! We're girlfriends! Humph! You may begin making it up to me now. [emoji18]

Also, I am so very lucky to have my BFF thegriswolds share my H love. But even so, it just wouldn't be the same without my lovely, passionate forum friends too. [emoji179]

And PbP is back pedaling. See her legs go so fast in the reverse direction they are a blur! :roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao: PbP - you are in big trouble with Pirula!!!!

Please ladies...no drama on this thread. Only silk decision making drama allowed.

Pirula - ok give her a pass this one time. Next time, she owes you a scarf (your choice ) from her drawer for forgetting you are her friend.

Ohhh MY! Yes!!!!! And she knows just what it would be!!!!

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. But that is between us! Lovingly between us.

Yep, this is excellent!

Thank you for your kind words expatwife!

No worries here MYH! I'm just glad you posted about owning a B and W scarf...now I have one that I truly love...thank you again for starting what has become my favorite thread!! :D

Yep, this is excellent!
Thank you momasaurus, I am happier with this one!

Thank you so much my friend momasaurus! Of course, being the over thinker that I am, I lost much sleep over this one last night...I'm afraid in looking it over at home and in the pictures, it is a bit harsh/severe, especially with my primarily black wardrobe...so I may make another long trek down to the store this morning and look again at Zenobie...and believe it or not, although the bright white border truly helps to balance all of the black in the scarf, when I put it on that is all I see! The border on Zenobie is a softer look. Argh....see, if you had been shopping with me I would have had a second valued opinion lol!!

Well, going to the boutique is always fun, isn't it? Even if it's for an exchange. Is your SA helpful on these matters, like if a scarf is really too severe/harsh for you?

But have you tried the CI with a brightly colored blouse? I know you favor black, but you have something royal blue, yes? Or you might NEED something royal blue?? :graucho: Good luck and let us know how it goes, dear Bova. Whatever the outcome, it will be silky beauty.

My dear Bova, you look fetching in both but I, too, prefer Zenobie for the better balance of black and white. Collections Imperiales is one of my favorite FW15 designs but the B&W does not do it justice...it is meant to be full of lovely colors. Zenobie is the perfect choice for you and you wear it well.

**On a side note [and I speak from experience], if the fabulous MomaS had been shopping with you then you would have bought both! HAHA. She has that effect. ;);)

Thanks so much bostonjetset...and I love your comment on Momasaurus! Thanks for the warning in case I get to NYC one of these days to visit H...;)

I'm back with a crowd pleaser today. Since Chinese New Year just passed and it's Opera season at the moment, I thought I would showcase Turandot. I'm sorry or not sorry, definitely one of those options, for the B&W scarf hunt I sent some of you on. But you will thank me in the end! But this one, ack!, is not so easy to find. My hunt was a nerve-wracking one that had a happy ending but I'm not sure if I would have done it all again.

I'm not sure where and when I became obsessed with this scarf. My scarf collecting has lasted a couple of years now and some of it is just a blur. I think I block some of it out because it's kind of crazy how many scarves I own. And to make a little confession....I broke down and just bought a CSGM from H.com that is being delivered Monday. Oy! I wasn't supposed to buy anymore CSGMs, but there you go. Anyway, back to the story, I knew I needed this one. So the online reseller search began in earnest several years back. One day, I see it pop up on evilbay for $425 BIN. Hmmm...was it real? Could I trust the seller? Seriously you guys, her other listings were for cheap toys and car parts (or something like that). No other Hermes items. Nothing in the price range of this scarf. No Hermes stuff in her selling history. And her story in the description was that is was a gift. We've all heard that one before right? The problem is I can never tell if it's true or not. So I watched it and checked on it over a couple of days and it was still sitting there. Was there a reason it was still available after a couple of days? I studied every inch of this scarf using the magnification feature on evilbay and it seemed to check out ok in my eyes. So I decided to take the plunge. I figured I could always open a case if it turned out to be fake. So I bought it and waited...and waited..and waited...she was in the U.S. and it should have taken a couple of days to arrive. I think I must have waited 2 weeks. By the beginning of week 2, I was convinced I had been scammed. Perhaps she never had the scarf. I figured she found some pics online, posted those, and just took my money and intended on sending me nothing! I contacted her and asked about it's whereabouts. She didn't have a tracking number. She told me she sent it and that I should be patient. It will arrive soon. Seriously?!?! No tracking number? Be patient? I was beside myself. And just when I was about to open a case....it arrived. I couldn't believe it. I opened up the package and it was magnificent. It was authentic and in mint (perhaps never used) condition. I was so relieved. I cried tears of joy (I think)! Now if I had to do this all over again, I'm not sure I would. I literally couldn't think about anything else for a whole week while I waited for this scarf to arrive. So I took a chance with a iffy listing and ended up scoring.

Now for the story of Turandot...this princess is really a character. I think TangoTosca probably went over the storyline before in her thread but in a nutshell (from Wikipedia), it is set in China and involves Prince Calaf, who falls in love with the cold Princess Turandot. To obtain permission to marry her, a suitor has to solve three riddles; any wrong answer results in death. Calaf passes the test, but Turandot still refuses to marry him. Poor guy...gotta feel sorry for him. Perhaps not the best story before Valentine's Day. :lolots:

I adore the details in this scarf. The little fish, the peonies. Peonies are my favorite flowers. The color is quite hard to capture but I tried my best. The tough thing about this scarf is the blue. It's tough to find a top that goes with the blues in this scarf. I should make a note to myself to go and buy some nice white T-shirts. I'm not sure why I don't have any? As much as I love this scarf, it does have a downside. The big navy border. I'm not a fan of big borders because much of the design in the middle doesn't show when tying a cowboy knot. But I'm willing to overlook this small flaw for this scarf.

So here she is, one of my most prized possessions....Turandot.

MYH bravo! You got guts to take chance like that in evilbay! Plus the seller told uno tracking! I would've flip out n curse out the seller n call PayPal n my CC all in one day! [emoji122]🏻[emoji122]🏻
