Want to hear something hysterical?!?! Like pee your pants funny? When I first discovered Hermes scarves, I thought I was going to just have a "capsule" collection. I actually thought I would be content with just 3 scarves. My first was a pink/coral/red Geometrie Cretoise (which was not right for me so got rehomed eventually), a blue/gray/teal Echec au Roi (still have this one and love it), and just one more. A B&W one. I thought with all 3 of these choices and my color families pretty well covered, I would be done! And wouldn't need anymore.:lolots:
:lolots:
So I went to the boutique in search of my B&W scarf one day to "complete" my collection. I marched up to the scarf counter and asked to see only B&W scarves. The SA helping me said they only have one at the moment. It's A Cheval Sur Mon Carre. OK, I thought. Let's have a look. So I'm not really a horse person (I'll put that out there right up front) although I think they are beautiful and appreciate them as animals. I just don't ride (except on easy trails while on vacation) and have never owned a horse before. So when a horse scarf is unfurled in front of me, I usually feel a bit meh about it. But this one fit the bill! B&W and I thought it was clever how all the scarves in the design formed the horse. It was modernish and so I said, great, I'll take it.
Now, looking backwards, I now know I was a bit bonkers for thinking I only needed 3 scarves but I still "kind of " stand by my thinking. I do believe everyone needs a B&W scarf in their collection. It's a great go-to scarf if you don't know what to wear that day or don't have anything in your scarf collection that matches your outfit. Got a weird green color top that goes with nothing else in your scarf drawer? Pull out the B&W scarf. A strange mustard color top? Pull on a pair of black pants and reach for that B&W scarf in your collection. So this is what I used this scarf for in the early days of collecting. When I didn't have 50-ish scarves :sweat drop:, I used this one kind of as a "filler" and still do. I must admit, back then my scarf taste was not as refined as it is now and I don't love this scarf design as much as I do many others, but I'm unwilling to release it because it was the special Philadelphia edition and I keep it as a momento of the time I lived there. Plus, it still comes in handy. Last year for Halloween, I was a cowgirl and used this scarf as my bandanna for my costume. Sorry - no humiliating pictures were taken so I cannot share with you guys.
So I took some pics this morning of this scarf and some H bracelets (clic H and illusion) I own as well as a new non-H bracelet in my collection. A balenciaga le dix bracelet with marble details in the leather as well as two-toned hardware. It's so useful and I fell in love with it immediately. I got it at Barneys and also saw a white/grayish one that looked like carrera marble. I ADORE carrera marble but when I tried it on, the lighter color carrera did not love me back so I nabbed this black one with white veining.
I hope you all don't mind I also photographed my fendi clutch with the whole scarf. I don't own a black Hermes clutch yet.:grouch: but am working very hard to rectify that problem.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I laughed so much reading about the 3 scarves collection because I can so totally identify with it! When I got into H that was my first thought... Get a couple of their shawls for variety and then get out. Oh little did I know what I was getting into the first day I walked into the H store...I believe in my head I never really came out of that store again [emoji23][emoji23]...
I agree that every collection needs a B&W scarf in it. For me that void is filled by my B&W Tyger Tyger. That happens to be my most versatile shawl that I can throw on with anything and everything! You nailed it with your astute observations about these B&W scarves dear MYH! Tyger Tyger reminds me of another thing that I would never do before and that was ever wear shawls/scarves with a animals on them! I used to find it unthinkable and couldn't imagine how people found it amazing! Another lesson learnt! The first time I tried the TT shawl in the store ( I have to admit with a lot of convincing from my SA) I loved how it tied and how you couldn't even see the tiger in it! And now I am a convert and a follower of animal designs on H scarves to the extent that the Marwari with the horse in it is my HG [emoji3][emoji3]!!! One thing I have learnt with H is 'never say never'...but that's what makes it so exciting not knowing what is the next thing you will love from them[emoji6]... I love your B&W choice and I think it looks just phenomenal tied! ... Love the match with the fendi clutch and can't wait to see which H black clutch you get in the future [emoji4]... Once again your collection of matching bracelets are beyond par [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]... Love your thread dear MYH[emoji173]️
And don't forget your exquisite Panthera!
Haha! Forgot about that beauty didn't I? Totally in awe of the panthera [emoji173]️[emoji173]️... Thank you my dear Pirula [emoji8][emoji8]
It is awe inspiring my dear! The detail is unreal. I readily admit to sometimes pulling it out of its box just to look and admire it. [emoji4]
