Scarves MYH's Scarf Showcase - and philosophical ramblings about how I built my collection

I'm back! And I realized, I misspoke when I said I came home with just one scarf. I think I must have the worst memory. I actually came home with 2 scarves. A 140cm giant silk and a 90cm silk. I'll show both today flat with my bags and show some knots tomorrow. I just didn't have enough time today before the sun went down to take photos. I think you have already heard my story about the 140cm. A quick recap - I was wearing a blue sweater and black pants and thought a malachite kelly wouldn't be very useful because I don't have much green in my wardrobe. My quick thinking SA went over to the giant silk drawer an pulled out this A La Plume which has blue, green, and black in it. Well, it tied my whole outfit together (pun intended!) and I was sold on the malachite kelly. In my photo, it looks humongous with my malachite kelly 28 and colvert pico mm. LOL. Also, sorry for all the wrinkles! It's hard to get a 140cm to lay smoothly on the floor! But as I've discussed before, it's my favorite size and I don't mind taming the beast! A drapey scarf necklace always does the trick.

So after the 140cm A La Plume scarf, I was satisfied for like 30min. before I realized I would also need a 90cm. I mentally went through my scarf drawer and knew I didn't really have any emerald green scarves to match my new kelly. I had a 70cm (Rose de Compass) but not a 90cm. So the next day we went back to Bellagio and I looked through all the 90cms but could not find one. I was thinking in the back of my head that I would get a Sieste au Paradis because one of them was bound to have a ton of green in it from the trees. And I had been eyeing this scarf design for the longest time this season. I even tried on the new 140cm CSGMs that were in store the day before but felt the size and design detail was too overwhelming on me. I love it on others but not on me, so I knew I would pass on the CSGM for SS2016. Which practically gives me permission to get the 90cm because I "need" at least one scarf in this design. So I went back to my SA at Bellagio and looked for one but none of the designs seem to match my Kelly well enough. So patient DH and my sis (she met us there) rode the tram with me to Crystals to look for a 90cm there. They had more cws than Bellagio and when this one unfurled, my sis and I both gasped. It was the one! I think I'm twins with ABQ2ATL and a few others. When the scarf is folded on the diagonal, alot of the green trees show so it's a pretty good match with Malachite K. And I don't have anything in this color palette represented in my current scarf collex so I felt it had to be mine. It really is breathtaking scarf.

I'll be back tomorrow with some knots!

MYH...:wonderinganxiously awaiting your knots on your to.die.for Sieste au Paradis:girlsigh:

I am so so sorry for being MIA! I picked up a new project recently and it has sucked all my time. So I kept thinking about all you silkies and feeling so guilty for not posting mod shots of Sieste au Paradis and A La Plume.

It's calmed down a bit for me today so I got some time to play with my two new scarves and make good on my thread promises! ;) Better late than never right?

First up, A La Plume. This scarf is going to allow me to wear one of my favorite purple silk shirts and carry my new Malachite Kelly at the same time. I never would have thought in a million years I could pair purple and green together but this scarf ties it all together! The magic of a Hermes scarf right? I'm also on the hunt now for more blue silk tops too.

Then Sieste au Paradis. This scarf is just  in my book. I tied it on two different biases so you could see what shows. One bias shows more green trees while the other one the blue water and bright orange tree trunk.

Also, the sun was going down so my apologies for the somewhat dark fuzzy pics. The colors did show up pretty true to real life though.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new scarf to showcase.

Sigh... The A la plume ties so beautifully. It's soft and flowy.

And the Sieste au Paradis...I've been dying to see more modeling shots. Thanks for posting! I agonized over this color way vs. the red/pink one. I find this color combination so moody and mysterious. Those green trees really make it for me. Believe it or not, I am tepid on the borders of Sieste (while everyone generally swoons over Aline honore's borders) I'm just meh on those shells. On Sieste, I think the center is spectacular and your first 2 knots really show that! Those greyish lavender cliffs are really different.

( I have both color ways though I planned on only one..now what should I do?!)

I agree! I love the center, but that shell border leaves me flat. It just doesn't do it for me - but the center and those cliffs are beautiful.

I agree with both of you about the border. Now the border on Tous Les Bateaux is another story and I find that one breathtaking. But the shells are the weakest part of Sieste au Paradis actually and I almost didn't buy it because of the border. But I love to wear the necklace knot and knew I could show alot of the middle of the scarf so I bought it. The cliffs and green trees with electric coral trunks are everything!

Thanks for stopping by and for the sweet compliments!

These are beautiful and you are a beautiful model for them![emoji106][emoji324][emoji106][emoji324][emoji106][emoji324]
Hope your project turned out well!!

Lovely and lovely MYH!!! [emoji173]️

I completely disagree on the shell border of Sieste; I think it's divine and in my cw (and omg the new CSGMs!) I adore it. That's why H invented variety! Amiright??

Several of you have said that you prefer the center of Sieste au P, and don't care for the shell border.
Actually, I am just the opposite! I Love the shell border more than the center!
Vive la difference!

Vive la difference....Absolutely! Revisiting MYH's pictures, the one showing the border..hmm, it could be a completely different scarf - the border version is so energetic, while the center version, sublime. So 2 scarves in one! Even better! :D

Are we allowed to post our pics on your thread MYH? cuz I'd love to see more of this divine carre;)

Yes, by all means, post away! I'd love to see everyone else's cws here on this thread. I think most of us fell for this design this past season.

LOL on everyone's differing opinions about the middle vs. the border. That's why H scarves are so popular. We all find different aspects to love.

In my humble opinion, we all need a scarf in our drawer that's just a riot of colors. When you're not sure which way you want to lean in terms of your outfit color scheme for the day or you're feeling a bit indecisive, these scarves are lifesavers.

I wanted this scarf ever since I saw it on a tres chic gal on instagram and saw it a few more times on others here. But I jumped on the scarf collecting bandwagon way after this one was released so had to wait it out patiently on evilbay. I'm not sure if it's a grail for others, but it sure was for me.

I almost always take this scarf with me when I travel because I can wear all black and match a handbag to it and I have an instant "outfit". Perfect! And even if I'm wearing a colorful top, it always seems to work. Almost every accessory I own matches this scarf because it has so many colors in it, but for some reason, all those colors work together.

I'm also lucky to have a tosca evelyne and a colvert picotin match this scarf (not to mention all the neutral bags that go with it too) so am usually carrying a handbag that coordinates as well. In my book, I could not survive without Coupons Indiens. In fact, it's chronically wrinkled because I wear it so much so I apologize in advance for the wrinkly scarf pics.

I've posted my Coupons Indiens scarf a couple times throughout the years here on tpf, but here it is, properly showcased.
