Jaime mon carre and circus. Not sure about the 3rd one!Sorry dolls! The lighting here today is terrible. I was going to feature another scarf but decided to hold off until tmrw.
But I did want to say my obsession with neutral scarves intensifies in the winter time. Here's a photo of my 3 fav neutrals. Can you guess all 3?

Ding! Ding! Ding! Pirula got em all correct.
MYH I managed to take some better photos of my new Sous l'Egide de Mars 90cm
As you know it was one I'd decided to get if I found a good deal , being a lot more ornate and glamorous than I usually like to wear especially in the colour way I chose .
Very happy to say it's a great addition and I'd encourage anyone to go for it , it ties so well I think .
Raise your hand if you bought a maxi twilly and don't wear it as often as you should. I must confess, my hand is in the air.
When these MTs first launched, I was at the peak of my silk obsession. I was venturing into all different sizes and could not get enough of Hermes silks. I still think having many different formats in a collection is a great thing. Even in the same material, a different size gives the scarf a different vibe. Having this versatility when choosing a scarf from your drawer is priceless! So when my SA and purse forum started buzzing about the new maxi twillies, I could not wait to see them. It didn't matter that they didn't have a rolled hem or were not screened in the same way the regular 90cms are. I liked the idea of a long rectangle scarf with diagonal cut tails. How glamorous! How elegant!
So the first day they launched, I flew to the H boutique to claim my 2 MTs (yes, when they launched, each customer was limited to 2 per season). I bought the burgundy and black calvacadour. I didn't buy any Brazils because I was not crazy about the feathers.
I could not wait to go home and play with my new treasures! There really is alot you can do with a maxi twilly. It can go around your neck once, twice, three times, even four if you are frou frou or bunny cat. Sadly, I did not like the look of the MT around my waist. It's not as um...trim...as it once was and I don't really like drawing too much attention to that area of my body. But I have seen some fab pics of women wearing them this way.
I was hoping it could be worn casually during the summer because of the rectangular shape having less material but here's where I get confused. No matter which way I tie it, I just don't feel it has a casual vibe. It's more of a going out for dinner accessory. And it's a great one because it's not voluminous and you don't have to worry about dribbling or splashing food all over it. It lays pretty flat against the body and that's a big pro to the MT.
As for providing warmth - unless you triple loop it around your neck, I don't feel like it's great on a cold day. I'd rather wear a CSGM or 140giant silk when I need warmth.
I do love it with a mors ring though because it is not bulky when you slip it through the ring. In my pic I folded the maxi twilly so the width is only one quarter of its regular width. I just threaded both tails through the smaller loop and let them hang. The whole thing stays put! The volume of the MT is just right for a mors ring.
It is a slippery sucker and if you want to wear it looped once around your neck with the tails hanging down, using a knot in the back of your neck or a scarf ring will do the trick. All the little tricks I mentioned in the 140cm tutorials applies here as well with the MT. If you missed the 140 tutorial, scroll back to Post #315 Page 21.
As you can see, I do really like the MT and I think it is very versatile. I just need to remember to reach for it when I'm getting dressed. And it has the added bonus of matching my burgundy chanel clutch which I love. I took a pic with some accessories. My capucine illusion bracelet and a blue izmir bracelet. For some reason, I do love the burgundy and capucine colors together especially since there is a capucine ribbon in the scarf. But I know...they don't match at all but I call it power clashing!

Gosh - the week has flown by and I have not contributed as much to the forum as I have wanted. But today, I have found some time and wanted to showcase another scarf.
I was cutting some feather charms yesterday and was reminded of a shawl I love with feathers in it. The story of this 140cm CSGM shawl is rather funny. After reading Unos thread for that season, I did not have any intention of trying it on at the boutique. I had even seen some pictures of this design purchased by others laid out on a bed or floor. The design and name of the shawl just didn't appeal to me and I didn't think it I would like it. Sous L'egide de Mars? A scarf about the armor worn by princes? Hmmm...I was not swooning. I don't know about you but when I see these exhibits at museums, I typically breeze through this section. I appreciate the work that goes into the armor of yesteryear and marvel at how heavy and hot the poor guys wearing them must have been, but that's about the height of my appreciation.
So one afternoon, I saunter into the boutique and my SA runs over and says they just received a beautiful new shawl design and she has set aside a cw she thought I might like. So I'm all excited and then she says it's the shawl about armor called Sous L'egide de Mars. Thud! My heart sank. Not that one! I'm not interested in that one. So I ask if she has anything else new (at this point, I was going to the boutique like twice a week, I know...seriously...I had it bad) and she said no. So since I didn't want to waste a trip down to the boutique, I agreed to try it on just for fun. She brought it out and opened it up in its entirety and held it out flat to show me. Hmmm...still not thrilled. But hey, I had already committed to trying it on and I didn't want to disappoint her. So she folded it for me and I flung it around my neck and then looked in the mirror. Instant LOVE!What the heck just happened? I thought I was going to hate it? I didn't even like it when she held it up for me. I've thought about this many times and decided it's Hermes magic. There is simply no other explanation.
But logically, here's my explanation. The scale of the design gets lost when you look at this scarf several feet away. The delicate feather details and the funny people in the little circles just kind of blend together. But then, when it's worn and the design is close to your face, the scarf transforms because you are now looking at it much more close up and all these little details that blended before, now pop out! Wonderful! My favorite part of this scarfare the blue and gray feathers at the top. I love those corners to death. I'm sure they are pure fuzz by now because I almost always wear this shawl in cowboy with those corners showing. But I can't help it. Those feathers make me so happy.
So I'm not sure if you passed this one up but maybe take another look at it? I see it on eBay from time to time and I'm often tempted to buy a back-up shawl in the exact same colorway to use when this one wears out. And it's often for a good price because it does not photograph well. Seriously, when you take an aerial view of this scarf, I think it is one of the most unphotogenic Hermes scarves/shawls I have ever seen. But worn and appreciated close-up, it's so gorgeous.

MYHHere's a way I wear my only Maxitwilly for a casual day out locally , I'll probably go out like this later when I'm planning a trip to H to see the new scarves.
I wanted to show I'm wearing Stan Smiths but I can't get a good long view . Sometimes it'll be a pair of ankle boots , but anyway this my usual look about town .
I'm mixing navy striped jacket with a black T and red and black Zebra Pegasus MT , I like a mixing navy and black and mismatching seems more modern sometimes.
If I put the black jacket and trousers it looks smarter but then I'd tone it down with Stan Smiths .

Yes! I don't use my MT enough. Thanks for reminding me.
One pic, I was deciding if I should keep or not (I ended up keeping.). The other is how it fits well with my daily life. I also have a Brazil MT.
They are really easy for me to wear
I am raising my hand MYH. I bought several first issue MTs including a silver and periwinkle Calvacador ( since rehomed), a pink Brazil and DH gifted an orange Brazil. I only wear the Orange these days. I agree with you, something about the flatness of the silk lacks volume, but it looks great with my jean jacket and occasionally my big white shirts in the summer time. I tried every colorway of the zebra pegasus and just could not fall in love with those pesky hooves on my chest lol. I'd rather just use the funds for my crazy obsession with mousselines. But I will post my Brazil's just for you soon as I can muster a photo or two. Here is one that was posted during autumn colors week on SOTD. Think I love this one the most because it is from DH and goes so well with my Barenia cdc, picotin and my Alezan H boots.

MYH.. I LUV my Maxi-Twillies. I've been acquiring them since it debut a couple of years ago, starting with Brazil MT. They are truly versatile in the most Chic-est way and can be worn so many different ways.. from Belts, Simple and Triple Knots to Basic Loop.
Here's one worn with MaiTai Fox Fur Collar in Gris Argent in my Kachina Maxi-Twilly looped thru the Fox Fur Collar and double looped around the neck to shorten. One of many, many possible ways to wear MT.
Forever handsome and stylish! It's perfect for these collars

Don't let go of that one, I can see you wearing it just as described
It was such a dance getting the right cw of ZP MT for me. I have to admit to loving the way the design is on the scarf and the unusual colours even though I haven't worn it yet.
Well done for making your own too, LillyHermes is responsible for a lot of us utilising existing fur collars, fascinating reading:
