My Love bracelet broke!!!

I am terrified to wear my bracelet. I am!
I also feel Cartier needs to look into this issue and to suggest glue or any chemical as a solution , this does not represent a luxury jewelry house.
I was going to get a diamond one, I will look for old screws or just get a Perlee from Van Cleef.

If it makes anyone feel better, I have the new Love and it has only loosened once since I bought it, and that was at the very beginning. I check my screws pretty infrequently and I recently went for a long swim in rocky waters and snorkeled for an hour with it and the screws are still fine. Don't give up on your Love!

I have to agree with the comment above. I have the love bracelet in the new screw system. You just have to make sure the screws are tightened really well. Do this for the first week. I had mine on for 10 months now and so far so good. I had it steamed by the boutique recently because soap does collect around the back of the screw . (Ewwww I know)

With the old screw system, a screw can still drop off if it's not tightened properly. You're suppose to check this the first week as well. With this new system, if one screw is loose, you do end up loosening up the other screw....then that's when halves of the bracelet drop to the ground. It is a poor design to compensate for that old design with the screw sticking up on the surface (in the new design, they made the screw blend in with the screw motifs).

I wish Cartier gave refunds too!

I'm keeping a close eye on my love. It's been 2 weeks so far....

What I do is, I look at the 2 screws and remember its position. Just look at the "\" line on the screws. If ever that \ line shifts or goes counter clockwise, you know its loosened.

Wow this upsetting to read! I just bought my love 3 weeks ago and the sa told me the new system was much better. He assured me that people preferred this one. He did tell me to stop in or have my husband tighten it within the first week. I did stop in and he did tighten it quite a bit. He then told me it would be good for 10 years. He said not to get it polished just wear it. I wanted to get the rg but now i'm nervous.Do you have yours insured? This is awful because the whole point is that you never take it off!

This is really concerning I want my love when I get one to be on forever I thought they couldn't possibly fall off
I don't mind tightening screws once in a while but wouldn't this eventually cause wear to the screw head stopping you from being able to turn it ?

yep. i suggest buying an old style when you do get your love.

i have two.. i have been wearing since 2008. never had to tighten a screw in my life.

So you think we should look for the old screw system? Buying on ebay or used makes me nervous. Did you buy yours new or used? I am going to wear this new one and see how it goes. I wonder how big the problem is because a couple of people i know have had no issues yet. Although i am not confident about the new screws after reading this.

hi all, I usually browse these threads just to admire everyone's lovely jewelry but felt inclined to post on this thread after my love bracelet fell off after just 24 hours. I purchased it at the flagship store in paris, and then it fell off just 24 hours later while I was on the plane. A few hours after getting off the plane, I went to my local store in the States to exchange the bracelet for a new one and was told that Cartier cannot do exchanges for international purchases. The SA told me she understood I was sold a defective bracelet, but "sorry" she can't do anything about it because they don't do international exchanges.

has anyone ever made an international exchange at a US Cartier store? Which country did you purchase from and what papers or documents did they require you to produce for the exchange. I would appreciate any helpful information- thanks very much in advance!!
