I'm all for taking that Birkin to Target or the dry cleaner or, wherever it would be safe and, well, not get dirty (like a baseball game or something.)
The bag is a reflection of YOU and what YOU love, not the places you go or the people you see. At least, that's how I feel about my bags.

In my neigborhood and the people I know, they wear their bikrins everywhere. If the go grocery shopping they wear their birkins. If they go out to eat they wear their brikins, when they go shopping the birkins come out. I think its a great bag and it shouldn't be held for the dressiest of occasions, unfortunatly we would need to treasure them more because these ladies i talk about have more one birkin actually more than 5 aswell.

I say GO FOR IT! If you can afford it and you love the Birkin- then you should treat yourself!!! It's worth the investment and you'll love every minute of carrying it! (By the way, so jealous- you better post pics!)
