Really, Bottega Veneta? I know they're expensive, but they are sooooo gorgeous and beautifully (and often intricately) made.

Also, they are all suede lined - so they're almost like a bag within a bag! :love:

I'd actually call Chloe overrated (and overpriced), before I would BV! :smile1:

I can't get into the Prada nylon. ick! But their leather bags are very nice. I don't' think any bag is overrated. If there are people out there willing to buy them at the price they are offered, then they are in demand.
I actually feel sorry for the people over at LV and Burberry. They make, lovely, lovely things that may not be to everyone's liking, but MOST people find them beautiful (hence their enormous success). Then, they get copied over and over, tarnishing their image and making them seem overexposed. Sad really.

BV bags are nice, but I found that they didn't hold up better than any other brand, and the company is constantly raising prices for the heck of it. Chloe does that too, and yeah, they're overrated. The Paddington I bought and returned wasn't worth $1,000 let alone $1,500.

I know others feel differently, but IMO the copies don't tarnish the image. Unless you care what others think, and I don't, you know you have the real thing, and those that are familiar with the line will as well. It would be nice if the fakes weren't out there so much, but that's life. I was standing there looking at a Fendi Spy the other day, and there's a woman with a horrible Speedy fake. Yuck.

I agree. That's why I picked Hermes. None of their bags have much "youthful" appeal to them. Not saying that they are supposed to but thats the reason why their bags never appealed to me.

^^ Coach has gotten ridiculous lately. Their classic leather bags were wonderful, but they went crazy with the signature mongram stuff. Why everyone, their sister and the kitchen sink has those bags leaves me scratching my head.

i really love prada....even thoe i've drifted off to other brands (lv, chanel, gucci,b bags, hermes) at the end of the day my one and only love has always been prada......but i think the bag that is most overated is Hermes and Cartier (never really bought anything from them but everytime i see it I still think they should of stayed a jewelery company)

I've never understood the allure of Prada bags. When I was in undergrad at Spelman, it seemed that every other student just had to have a Prada bag. Its like one of the essential bags for BAPS.

And I must add...and I will probably get hate mail for this one...Kate Spade.

I just don't really see what the big deal is with those bags.

haha- I thought about putting Coach and Dooney & Bourke on the poll but what fun is it if both of them win a combined total of 90% of the votes?

I still like SOME Dooney and Bourke bags, but Coach is just...:cry:


Especially since I'm seeing more Goach bags than anything

(For those who don't know Goach is the fake Coach with those atrocious G's all over the place.)
