This is so pretty...but its set so high, I would catch it on everything!!!

right now I have a princess cut {about 1.25] w/ baguettes lined down the sides. I posted a picture almost identical to my ring. It's a little to sharp and contemporary for me now.
We want it to be bigger, probably between 2.5-3 carats for the center stone.
It will be a platinum setting and a round brilliant.
I wear all my jewelry all the time pretty much.
I can go either way, w/ or w/o a band to accompany it.

I tried on a ring today I really liked. It's similar to a 3-stone ring, but w/ a little more detail underneath.
The 2nd photo is similar to the one I liked today, the 1st is my current bauble.

okay, here's a few photos of the ring on my hand today. . . . this has taught me that looking at photos is hard, this ring shows SO much more beautifully IRL.
Be afraid of my nails, I've been scooping and carving pumpkins the last 2 days! LOL!

How fun! I love the claw settings of Harry Winston. Leon Merge has some beautiful rings, but I prefer that style for a right hand ring.

I also love my current setting, a classic Tiffany knife edged solitaire and the Tiffany round brilliant with is surrounded by chanel-set square cut diamonds, very art deco. The knife edged solitaire really highlights the ring and with a 2 ct. it would be very "wow!" So I guess I prefer things with almost an angular or simple/almost masculine look in a way, nothing to precious or feminine.

I'll post some of my favourite settings....(these are from a jewelry board, i hope it's ok to post them here, if not feel free to tell me so, so i can delete them)....

I absolutely LOVE three-stones and split shanks...yummy:love:...

swank--have you been to www.pricescope.com? they have a forum called show me the ring that has literally thousands of different rings/cuts/settings etc. it's total diamond porn.

i personally have a fetish for emerald cuts....there's a whole folder on my computer full of them. my dream ring is 1.5-2 carat emerald cut in a halo/antique style setting (or a winston style with baguettes on the side....it's not like i have to decide anytime soon)

i digress.....anyway, i dont' have any suggestions for an RB setting b/c i personally don't care for that cut for myself (fun to look at though!)......but have fun looking!!

sunshine you're so right! this shows how inexperienced i am with diamond solitaires-that hadn't even occurred to me, and it should have since i am always smashing my jewelry into things.
