What is a fair price for a preloved like-new mini rectangle in black caviar (with black lining)?

If it is in pristine condition . . I’d say no more than $5000. But. . . I’m a little embaressed to say I paid $6500 for my 17 S so black that was never worn and still had protective stickers attached about two weeks ago
. Retail for the Lambskin version will soon be $4000 in the US so I suspect there will be a spike in the resell market soon as well. May I ask the color/hardware combination of the bag you are considering ?

In Zurich! They had the light yellow rectangular mini from 21c too as well as a rectangular black mini and a dark navy square mini (1 of each). This was back in December though.

I am ready to buy my first Chanel bag and am in love with a black rectangular mini. Went to two stores today in Sydney, Australia and of course none of them had it. Only options were tweed, blue or peach colour. I was put on the waitlist for it and supposedly am the first on that list for the SA. I am wondering how long it usually takes to get an item once on the waitlist?

My understanding was always that caviar is much more durable than lambskin. However, I was watching a review on You Tube and the girl said that her SA said that caviar will not last, at point it will peel. Maybe in about 10 years. Whereas the lambskin will last and you will be able to pass it on to your kids.
Does anyone know if that is true?

Depending on when the stock comes and if the SA remembers you. I would say keep calling the client services. That's what I did for my mini. If you're looking for SHW they're actually pretty easily available. I'm in Sydney too and I see them everytime I come into the boutique LOL. GHW is hard tho and you need to really look for it.

Try calling Chanel customer service first to see if there's any stock at any NY location. My guess is no, but if you're lucky and there is immediate stock, a store will call you back within 72 hours and you can go to the store to pay and pick it up (you'll have to go into the store if it is your first Chanel boutique purchase so they can help you create a profile). You might also be able to reserve one at the Chanel boutique if it is an item they are buying in for their next collection so try going into a store and ask. When you reserve an item at the boutique, they'll follow up once the item comes in, so you won't have to pay immediately. It's also a great way to start building a relationship with an SA for future points of contact I would also call all the other Chanels in the NY area (inside department stores, etc) as they have their own inventory and can actually put you on a waitlist. As far as I know, Nordstrom and Neimans can put you on a waitlist and reach out to you once one becomes available to purchase, but of course they may forget and never get back to you. Your best bet to guarantee you the bag would be actually to pre-order the item (pay for it first) at The Webster or Hiershliefers if one is available to preorder and they will let you know once the item is in for pickup. Again, I'd give them a call and check with them first.
There are several ways to go about it, but ultimately up to you and whatever you are comfortable with. Good luck!
