From the looks of it, "The Counselor" appears to be Oscar worthy for Michael. When I first heard about the role, I just knew it was a perfect fit for him. I couldn't imagine him playing Noah (he's too bad ***) or Robo Cop (he has too much depth as an actor). I'm so glad he didn't get them. As for the villain, someone like Colin Farrell or Bradley Cooper. Maybe Jeremy Renner could pull it off. Looks like he will be filming back to back again. At least, his role in "12 Years a Slave" is only supporting so hopefully he won't have to memorize too much for the script. Does anyone know anymore specifics of Brad and Michael's role in 12 Years? I think James Badge Dale (boss in Shame) is in too.

A a dope cos I can't find the link to the script just the review, but thanks for that.
Yep, super interesting.:smile1::smile1::smile1: things gonna end BADLY!

Not really McCarthy super fan, male dystopia 101.
Now MF needs to play Austen's Darcy or something to keep up the chameleon ticketx
Oh yes, he would play an amazing Darcy but I doubt there will be any remakes any time soon. Too similar to Rochester. Fassy probably won't be doing any classics but new work based on his comments from the Berlin Festival.

What I like about this interview is, as they put the camera just onto his face, you can even feel his breath:laugh: I'm not a fan of his blond hair but you have the chance of seeing every inch of his face and also legs.

Is Fassy being naughty again in the end?:drinks: Enjoy it in HD (720p) if you have fast connection.

This is great yet is it just me or do others kinda wish it was going to be made by Coen brothers? Michael Fassbender and Coens could be a good match. Look forward to seeing Prometheus and hope Scott is really good as a director at the moment.

Absolutely. The Coens' NCfOM was really solid (dare I say that it actually enhances the prosaic source material :smile1:). But am looking forward to Prometheus too! Surprised that its marketing has been relatively quiet, though it's not a complaint.

I'd be a lot more excited about The Counselor if they were shooting it six months-one year from now instead of just 3 months. Apparently the script is in absolute trainwreck form right now because McCarthy didn't follow any of the rules. I'm really wary of how fast this is going into production.

It also sounds like all the Oscar-bait material goes to the two villains instead of his character. I'm curious how they'll cast this. I don't want MF to be completely overshadowed. ;)

Ridley's notorious for tweaking scripts. There might not be time for a page 1 rewrite, but they may not need a complete overhaul either (after all, it's all subjective opinion being exchanged on the script blog). Ridley and Michael both have a good eye for picking unusual but interesting material, and maybe recognized a diamond in the rough?

The only way to know would be to read the script! And even then, changes are bound to occur. Trust Michael too, to memorize a dialogue with no punctuation, to his own melodic pace (it's a great strength of his :biguns:) . How Fassy-like to choose a challenging project; the thrill of an unguaranteed success is even greater!

Hope its an interesting experiment and hope nobody wants to go in with oscareyes or 'meaningful movie' weight because Ridley Scott seems to have lost his way, trying to make recent big films that are good, if a bit overblown and desperate? (American Ganster/Kingdm of Heavn). Thank god he's not as bad as his brother though :-s
MF did audition for Pearl Harbour too so its not all good choices even if he was in the lean years :giggles: But the language should be rich and risky behaviour of McCarthy is v.v.good. Definitely the villians are the plotlines of McCarthy so thats where it'll may be great.

Thanks for that!
Oh Ho, and that end line and bout "mutant sex" and Fassbender adding on the quip "is that a tail there...?" So naughty, dirty Irish manchild humour.
Definitely McAvoy and Fassbender could be brilliant f*buddies/threesomers... ya just know they be competitive!
Yeah, sorry, I went there :smile1:

What is up with the Fasbender IMDB board? Seriously, what a hot mess that place is.

Sorry, Just looked on there briefly but my attention span is not long enough to be able to cope with anything on imdb at times. Its like trying to find something interesting to watch stuck in rush hour traffic:p
What do you mean, whats up with the boards? Has it gone beyond an actors framework? as they usually do!
