that statistic about the "academy" is not surprising at all. look at how many black films have been overlooked and dismissed over the years. the color purple was nominated for 11 awards and didn't take home one!
The academy is hypocrite then, no problem with the female nudity.

Question people:
Who will be watching the Oscars on Sunday and which of the nominated films are you supporting (for a lack of a better choice)?
War Horse
The Artist
Midnight in Paris
Moneyball
The Descendants
The Tree of Life
The Help
Hugo
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
I've read an article about how The Artist went from the underdog to the Rottweiler of the award season. I think that the aggressive award campaign has diminished some of the charm of this cute little film, but I'm still gonna go with The Artist or Midnight in Paris. I haven't seen Hugo yet and I wasn't impressed with the other films on the list. I won't be watching it though. I'm boycotting that ishhh!
War Horse ( Ben! )
The Artist
Midnight in Paris

I thought that Benedict and Tom were pretty excellent in that film. Just a shame that their parts were so small. Nice picks!

Bloody hell! Never knew that. That film is a classic. I suggest that they rejuvenate the academy ASAP. They need to either get more young members or kick out some of the old farts.
Of course not, those conservative pensioners would rather watch a film with lots of boobies than one with male nudity. Fassbender was c0ck blocked by jealous viagra-popping pensioners!
