Question people:

Who will be watching the Oscars on Sunday and which of the nominated films are you supporting (for a lack of a better choice)?

“War Horse”
“The Artist”
“Midnight in Paris”
“Moneyball”
“The Descendants”
“The Tree of Life”
“The Help”
“Hugo”
“Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”

I've read an article about how The Artist went from the underdog to the Rottweiler of the award season. I think that the aggressive award campaign has diminished some of the charm of this cute little film, but I'm still gonna go with The Artist or Midnight in Paris. I haven't seen Hugo yet and I wasn't impressed with the other films on the list. I won't be watching it though. I'm boycotting that ishhh!

The choices for Best Picture 2011 are so ... uninspiring, for lack of a better word. Some were lovely, but most on the list don't have that Oscar-worthiness of yesteryear. I'm kind of already rooting for Oscar 2013 (the showdown between Day-Lewis, John Hawkes and Philip Seymour Hoffman!) ;)

Hehe, the folks at Top Gear should be lucky that the Fass didn't crash the Cee'd. Our Irish lad seems prone to crash the cars he drives! :D

Since McCarthy himself wrote the script, we get his own muscular prose directly, with its sexual obsessions. It’s a masculine world into which, unusually, two women intrude to play leading roles. McCarthy’s wit and humor in the dialogue make the nightmare even scarier.

I'd bet major dollars that the competition for those female roles is going to be knock-down-drag-out.

Hehe and it features a roster of such talented people: Fass + Shannon, Malkovitch, Brolin ... how could it go so wrong? :couch:

For Counselor, Michael's got 2 months to perfect his southern drawl. I'm quite looking forward to hear the end product! :)

Good lord, this man is hot right now. Is there anyone who doesn't want to work with him?

And notice that these directors want to keep hiring him over and over, McQueen and now Ridley Scott. :D Fassy must be supremely easy to work with.

Nice to see so many new faces in this thread. :D Welcome newbies!

Michael was so cute on Top Gear. That's one of the things I really like about him - he's always in good mood and enjoying the ride. I hope he stays that way.

I saw previous report and was hoping for confirmation. Congrats to Michael for scoring such a good role!

Yep, Top Gear was hot and sweaty...and that's just the interview

1. The Counselor - a script by McCarthy - still scarred from reading the Road - author as screen writer, exciting!
2. Ridley Scott - not exciting:-s
3. Fassbender signs on - good sign, thank god he's not some picked some lame actioneer (Centurian) or even worse romcom (Butlerish).:push:
4. Yah, possible co-star action...whoevershebe!:sneaky:
