Men carrying a purse or handbag

While he doesn't have a problem with other men carrying them, my DH would never, ever carry a purse. Around Christmas time we saw some male tourists in the Coach outlet carrying man purses that were very masculine-looking. When I pointed them out to DH, he shook his head no and said, "No way, absolutely not." :nogood:

Old thread, but I have to say NO WAY> I don't think there is anything worng with it. Some men rerally rock bags. However if you new my DH you would know he would NEVER carry a man bag. I can't even get him to get a LV wallet. He likes black leather Prada wallets, and that is it.

My BF doesn't carry a purse, naturally, but he does put a lot of his belongings in this tattered-ass old canvas backpack that he has. It's fraying, it's out of shape, one of the straps is about to come off. LOL. You know, he keeps stuff in it like his wallet, checkbook, Visine, Excedrin, etc. It makes perfect sense to me, although when we go someplace he mainly keeps it in the car and doesn't take it out and about with him. I always wondered other how guys who DON'T carry things like that survive when they go someplace. Don't they have stuff they need to take with them?

That's why they have a woman. First a mom then a girlfriend then a wife so she can carry his crap in her bag! :p

No and if he every does I think I would just pass out... He very old fashion about that.. He has his Briefcase and he wallet and he is happy with that...

"It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one."

Hangover humor. I just had say it.

Although, I think it's cool when guys carry bags, it's different......

I wish. If there's one thing that I care about in fashion, it's many, many more guys carrying purses, not sporty backpacks or messenger bags or traditional briefcases and such- but fashion-oriented things hanging off their shoulders or hands. I'd love to talk about and browse bags with my bf. Sadly, that just doesn't happen. I think we had our brief moments when I asked him about his opinion of some of my bags, but the convos would very quickly die.

I wish he would - he's always handing me stuff to carry for him! He has a couple but only uses them for a few days at a time and then goes back to stuffing his pockets and handing me the excess.

My son bought a Kenneth Cole Mens' messenger bag. It's beautiful brown leather. He used it mostly for carrying books. Fast forward 2 years. Now he uses it to carry all of the stuff that won't fit in his pockets. He said he didn't give a you know what about what other people might or might not think. He said he'd be glad to carry some of the purses I've shown him on this forum, and thinks that you all have great taste. Frankly, I bet a lot of guys could rock a bag as well as we can. And it's not even about sexuality!

My DH has 2 "man purses" (this cracks our sons up!). Both are messenger bag styles-a brown LV (forget the type of leather--not monogram) and a Bottega Veneta (nero). He carries his Ipad in them and files in them.

I love that he shares "bag passion;" however, I would much rather spend the money on my OWN bags :)

A black leather messenger bag for work (which he actually picked out & I bought him for Christmas - spent more than on most of mine! :amazed:...) otherwise it's the pockets!
Oh plus a backpack on holiday - I've got enough of my own junk to lug around without his as well!
