Violet / Grape RH City Owners! Lamb or Goat Leather?

I just recently purchased a Violet RH City bag from Aloha Rag and the tag it came with indicated that the bag was made from "agneau" or lamb leather instead of "chevre" or goat leather. My other Balenciagas are made from goat leather. Do you know why this is? Can any other violet/grape owners...

I remember Corey telling me that 07 was the transition year from chèvre to agneau but then we had several members who had 08 bags that were chevre. It's a mystery to me.

Hmmm.. I know the pocket-less mirror appeared at the same time agneau began, but have not considered that the changeover would be so cut and dried. I’m going to watch for the few chevre 08s and check the mirrors from now on.

And the leather, to my eye does not look like Agneau. Especially the early ones seemed to have taken the dye more solidly on the surface. For agneau, this would be an outlier.

I’m thinking most likely the tag is just incorrect.

I dunno, I had an 08 marine that I would have sworn was chevre was well. I think the tag said agneau, I'll try to find a photo.

I can get behind the fact that there was agneau in 07 as Corey has said so, but not that the mirrors on agneau bags had pockets. If they did my whole Bal world has shifted.

Of course you’re right. And there is plenty of evidence, untill we come across an outlier. :coolio:

Too bad there’s not a Jeopardy game for Balenciaga trivia, I’d put money on you and Muchstuff. :happydance:
