This arrived super fast. My first ever Monk. Multizip first. The leather is completely unique, but the closest thing it comes to in my mind is nubuck. Oh. Did I mention I’m crazy madly in love with nubuck leather? So it’s insta-love for Monk.The body is pretty solid but the strap is super soft. The color almost looks like an espresso, but the black zipper says otherwise. You can see the shade difference next to a black first.

I'm gonna laugh at this forever.
But no, not the softest sandpaper in the world. It feels like a voluptuous nubuck to me. I've had very smooth nubuck and lumpy nubuck. This is similar to the lumpy/textured variety. Reminds me of a somewhat glazed version of this (Coach nubuck Chelsea).

Ooooooh, I have been literally obsessed with suede and nubuck since I was a kid. I try not to get too many suede items because they elate more difficult to maintain. But Inuse to have shoes and boots exclusively in suede, and I used to live in an area where we got lots of snow and rain, not like here.
I had once one like this same color similar style. Lining was soft ultra silky cream leather. I totally retrete selling itI'm gonna laugh at this forever.

Oh no, I meant I had a very similar one but Balenciaga. Exact same color and leather. It was kinda monk but

Me too ! Since I was a kid, the height of elegance for me were grey or beige or camel suede boots, shoes, bags…..And I could never wear it without extra effort because of the climate. Then I moved to this part of Canada. Here it can be so dry and cold few winter months, that nothing gets dirty, it is a crisp, clean, dry air, snow clean and white until it melts, so I wear my suede boots and suede bags and am happy 😊
This is the perfect reason to bust that baby out and try again! Looking forward to seeing your DV soon.
Ha! You’re describing me, almost. I used to have a pair of camel over-the-knee long boots that I loved sooo much. And when it wasn’t deep snow or lots of mud after rains and such, I was wearing only those. The over-the-knee part could come down to have a kind of a knee-high boot, looking almost like musketeers boots, just in camel. The suede was so soft and yummy. Unfortunately, I cannot fit in them after having my second child so I left them to my mom. All the suede pumps and other suede skirts and whatnot… they were all for my size before kids LOL. Now, I have to rebuild my suede wardrobe for the new size. 🥹
I am jealous on your weather there, and so is my daughter. We’ve had enough of heat, dry heat, drought, etc. We both would like to live in a weather similar to what you describe. So we could wear all our winter stuff, because here we cannot wear them unless we go to the mountains, and that probably only during December-January.
