I'm curious, to our friends here who are not fans of the City, what about them doesn't work for you? @muchstuff?

I remember when I first started collecting, I preferred Days and Works because I could fit my laptop in them. I loved the-more-leather-the-better Work, but didn't love the hand or arm carrying. Over the years, laptops became more and more compact and could fit in the City. The City has taken over the Work for me because of this detail and the preferred shoulder strap.
Agree with @earswithfeet - the fortune cookie shape when using the strap and with @ghoulish about banging into everything when hand held. I do use other handle bags but I can't recall any of them bumping into things more than the City.
The Day is my favorite style and the most comfy for me

OK, everyone's opinion are very interesting, because City is still my favourite (have yet to try a Day or Work).

I know you said not fans, BUT...

I like that a City fits a ton, has a longer strap, and can be close to your body (while having a zip unlike a Hobo or Besace)... I regularly hold my City at the O-ring when I wear it so it doesn't bang around.

IMO a First, while I love mine, is a little more awkward because the strap is a pinch too short for my body (5'5.75") and it doesn't fit a ton.

TBH I don't notice any creasing on mine - unsure if it's because it's black or not...

The fortune cookie fold is exactly why I have never tried a city!

I love twiggys but I feel like they’re so hard to find!

But I don’t ever shoulder carry (except very rare occasions where it’s on my shoulder for a few minutes at most)

Soooooo maybe I can get on board with a preowned city that doesn’t have the dip yet 😬😬😬

I managed to wait for 20% TRR and got a suede beauty, I am crazy about suede especially grey or camel. I hope this one is not dirty but suede just being suede with variations.

I regret to this day selling my Mulberry Bays in grey suede - suede was bluish grey not yellowish like this one, I just didn’t use it because of croc embossed pattern. But the color was what I love the best in grey - with blue undertones

I agonized over this and decided to be fiscally responsible, which turned out to be a total joke.

Soooo…:graucho::graucho::graucho:
Lol, super relatable! I had it in my cart off and on for about 45 min, but my resolve was easily broken down due to CATS(!). You can put a cat on almost anything and I'll probably buy it, it's a minor miracle I haven't splurged on one of those kitten camera bags yet.

I’m lusting for an LV catogram!!! But those are truly out of my reach. 😭

This arrived super fast. My first ever Monk. Multizip first. The leather is completely unique, but the closest thing it comes to in my mind is nubuck. Oh. Did I mention I’m crazy madly in love with nubuck leather? So it’s insta-love for Monk. The body is pretty solid but the strap is super soft. The color almost looks like an espresso, but the black zipper says otherwise. You can see the shade difference next to a black first.

SO fast - you literally just posted it in the other thread like 15 minutes ago.

Do you think it feels like "softest ever soft sandpaper" feeling or what?...

I'm gonna laugh at this forever.
But no, not the softest sandpaper in the world :lol::lol::lol:. It feels like a voluptuous nubuck to me. I've had very smooth nubuck and lumpy nubuck. This is similar to the lumpy/textured variety. Reminds me of a somewhat glazed version of this (Coach nubuck Chelsea).
