I have a spot on my large rosa rosa that has worn through the coating already. At first I thought maybe it was color transfer but it's actually worn. I have only carried the bag for about 2 weeks and not all that much. Kinda disappointed. Think I should reach out to the company for help? I expected some wear on the corners but not on one of the folds/creases in the middle of the bag. This is on the back of the bag where it touches my hip.

Have you used any protectant on it? Bumping this as i would like to know as well!

Dye transfer from wearing black jeans, and some scratches from some silver knob thingy on my jeans (not sure what to call it lol). I remember reading a few pages ago from a tPFer that make up remover would help remove it, and wallah! Bag is very beat up from 2 days walking 'found SF, but I'm planning on using some Colonil leather conditioner when I get back home to smooth and clean it up. Any other suggestions welcome :)

I am a PurseForum newbie. Have just purchased an MG bucket in Black/Ballerina - swoon. Reading about how easily the bags mark/scratch/stain. Is it the same for the black as for the pale coloured bags? Think I'm going to polish with Collonil and then spray to waterproof - although my husband is recommending Rennaisance Wax. Any feedback would be very welcome and appreciated.

That sounds like a good plan. Not familiar with rennaisance wax.

Hi guys, I'm in love with the bucket in creme/cammello but I'm concerned about it getting grubby fairly quickly. Not sure how I would clean it without damaging the leather parts. Can anyone who has this colour shed some light on how it wears?

Gosh i conditioned my camello/dolly bucket and it got stained with room mist. The camello turn dark; the only lucky thing was its on the left hand bottom of the bag! its so obvious! and i can't get rid of it! anyone had the same problem before?

I have refrained from the Creme/Cammello for this reason. I have so many (non- MG) Canvas tote bags that have gotten dirty so quickly.

Still, I would think a stain-proofing spray would be best for the canvas. You could use a low-tack tape to keep it from changing the leather. Then, once the canvas dries, I would use a conditioning cream on the leather.

Can you post a pic?

here is it.. since i suspect its an oil stain, i have left powder/corn starch on it. seemingly (or rather) it seems to have lighten... but i dun tink its going to go away... i went to check on the bag spa but none seems very convince that they are able to clean naked leather.. i think i will just have to let the pattina grow and hope it will cover it up.... its about my life aint it!:graucho:

Room sprays often have oils in them, so that may be why it stained. I think the corn starch is a good idea and should help it fade. Once you get the area as light as possible, you may want to condition the whole bag again to blend the darker area a bit. Sorry this happened. At least it is on the bottom – and yes over time the darker area should fade as the bag patinas.

gah yes! i reckon so at least its at the bottom thats the only consolation! and..thanks for the advice!

I think its always good to condition and spray the bags with waterproof spray before use. I use Collonil Waterstop and its amazing!!

I have this calf leather bag which had nail polish remover spill on its bottom corner (the bottle fell on its side and had a crack in it which spilled the content) of course, I wasn't aware of this and found out a few days later. I freaked out after realising what was happening but there was NO damage to the calf leather at all when I checked the bag! Was super suprised btw, I thought it would've darkened or made the leather rough but it looks completely fine. So any leather bag I have from now on, I spray with the waterstop.
