I would bring it up the next time you see her face to face. I don't believe they are allowed to say much/anything about B/K/C over email. I've emailed my SA my B and C wishlists but only after being instructed to do so because they wanted a written list to refer to as shipments came in. However, those emails were responded to by phone calls, not in a written form, and only when needed.
They could mention B/K/C in an email if the bag offer has already happened over the phone. But they cannot promise anything in email regarding future possibilities.
I have been asked to send my B/K/C wish list over the email. But even my sweet enabling SA doesn't reply to my wish list emails directly. But she does remember what I want and she did mention she enjoys getting my wish lists. I think there might be a policy regarding responding to wish list and promising.

Policy or not, this is consistent with my experience too. I exchange a ton of emails with SA over the years but the only email we had that even mentioned a quota bag was my wish list email to her in late December. No response on that one but obvi the SA must’ve remembered it because the next time I went into the store a few weeks later one of the wishlist items magically appeared.

I know that it can take a few months or even over a year to get a bag which is why I wanted to let my SA know sooner than later. Other members on here said that SAs aren’t mind readers and it doesn’t hurt to let them know (as many on here have done so early on their relationships). I didn’t think that by mentioning it I would get one right away or anytime soon. I just wanted to put it out there and hopefully be able to get one this year.
My message that started this conversation was to ask what to make of her not responding to that specific email. As I’ve stated, some people on this site told me that it’s okay to ask on email if that is our primary method of communicating. So I did that. Which is why I posted to ask what could have went wrong.
I always send a wishlist through email and my SA always responds “I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for you” when she receives my wishlist email. Even the initial talks of a Special Order, which was initiated by my SA, was through email.

But keep in mind: Different SAs, different communication styles, different relationship.

Hi! I hope this is the right place to ask this - I've searched for an answer but couldn't find one.
There's an item I'd like to buy, but my Hermes branch doesn't stock it.
But my SA says I can order it from the Hermes website "through the store". Is this the same as if I just order it online myself?
I don't really want to do that - I don't much like ordering things online, plus I'd rather my lovely SA gets the commission. I'd also quite like it to go on my purchase history at the store.
Thanks for any help you can give!

There is a process through which a store SA can order the item from the online store and then you go in and buy it as though it were normal stock. However, my SA tried to do this for me but was denied by the store manager. I got the feeling that corporate frowns on it so they only approve it in special circumstances. However, if your SA was offering to do it, and if you actually want the item, then I would have her do so. (I believe the underlying issue is that the store manager's goal is to sell things from their inventory. If they grab something from online, they are temporarily increasing their inventory, which is bad on paper. Then worst case for them, you don't actually buy it and they are stuck with it and best case scenario you do buy it but it doesn't help the store's bottom line anyway. Though I suspect your SA would get the commission. For normal situations where items get transferred between boutiques, it is normally done as a trade of inventory, i.e. Store A sends a size small bracelet to store B in exchange for a size medium in the same bracelet.) I would ask your SA "okay so I would go on the website and order it or you would?" If she says you then I don't think it's what you want. Hope this helped!

I believe this is true. However re the items my store ordered for me online, and didn’t work out for me, I thought the store had to send back to the warehouse to return them.

I also asked my SA that if she ordered something for me online (an item that the store had not received so I could only order online via my store) if it “would be good for the store” or “help the store.” She seemed to say it was good for her and the store, so I took this to mean the store/my SA would get commission. (My SA offered this to me as a service and seemed to prefer I order online items through her so I think it must benefit them.) I think it really benefits everyone.

But please note that I think your SA must order from the store online. I think if you just order yourself and ship to the store, it’s not the same. My SA suggested it’s better to have her order the items for me online. They use their handheld devices to do it.

Thank you both so so much for such detailed answers! That's so helpful. I'll try and find out exactly what is meant.

Just one more question - if I need to explain what I mean to my SA, do you think it's OK if I say "I'd like you to get the commission after all the help you've given me"? Or is it not a good idea to mention commission?

I'd use the term "credit for the sale" rather than 'commission'.

I can now conclude there are absolutely no rules or method to getting a K/B/C. I have been working with a SA for less than a year, and about three months into working with her I asked her about getting a Kelly (gold) at the boutique. She was honest and said they can't keep up with the requests and therefore if I can find one somewhere else, go ahead and purchase it. Fast forward 7 months later, I have purchased mainly non quota bags from her and only two scarves. I emailed her the other day and requested a shawl and she replied back saying she will order the shawl for me - and then, in the same email, she mentions a Kelly!! Tells me to be patient as she is waiting for my kelly to arrive!! What?? I nearly fell off my chair. I have no idea what is being delivered as I didn't mention specs again to her and I purchased a gold Kelly resale, so I am really not sure what she has in mind for me. I thanked her by email and mentioned a few colours I would like. I certainly hope she doesn't offer me a gold Kelly. My store gets very few Kellys so I have a feeling I will be offered whatever they receive, which is the impression I got. Nonetheless it is pleasant to know I turned a corner with her. I want to mention, as I started shopping at Hermes more often, my knowledge has increased, my taste has evolved, and my love of the brand is truly sincere ( I am lucky to have a mother that appreciated H scarves and has a gorgeous collection - she would never own a B or K however  ). I have grown up around Hermes items, I personally could not really invest in items until recently. I am very specific about what I want now and I think my SA truly noticed that I have a sincere interest in the brand.
Wanted to share this story as it appears to be so different from what I have read here.

My SA told me about this : she can order anything on H.com and I have to go to the store to have it. I have to pay before they order and if I don't like the item, I'll exchange it or have a store credit.
Why would I do this : I can order online, it comes directly to my house and, if I don't like the object, I send it back and have my money back ?
