congrats and amazing you got the b25! However, reading your post and some of the others has kind of put me off Hermes again. I live in a city with exactly the same spending quota thing and was at first was fine as like everyone here I admire the brand very much and was going to buy those items anyway ;p Yet, there are times that have left me so frustrated that I compare the experience with my other go to brand-LV. My local Lv store has an apartment which is their version of VIP rooms and every time I go I am treated like royalty! From lunches to private events. Admittedly I know Hermes price points are higher than this of LV so I spend around $30000-40000 with each brand and some times more if they have rare pieces, therefore I might not get the same treatment in Hermes. However, is still not a small amount of money and I sometimes feel quite embarrassed of myself for almost kissing the SAs' shoes to get a B/K/C. And over the last year I actually purchased one C and B from a reseller as I felt kind of tired wasting all my effort with my local H store just to get a bag. ( I live in a Hub city so there are plenty of Vips and high spenders on RTW and homeware). Sometimes the whole situation has caused me to really rethink should I really spend my $$$ with a brand who play this kind of tricks with people like me who actually just want to get one of their bags because of the heritage and the craftsmanship. But at the end of the day I myself works in banking and knows Hermes is a business and needs to make a profit and they know there many people like me who would do a lot for one of their bags.... xD p.s still looking for a b 25 in any shade pink for like a million of years.....

Thanks! My SA has previously told me that my country does not do SO bags (not sure whether this is true or not) - but hoping something makes its way to me eventually

UPDATE: Well, my SA pretty much blew my mind today. She actually sent me an email saying a bag is available to me. I pretty much dropped everything I was doing to run down there as fast as I could! She offered me a B25 in rose pourpre with an alternative of B25 etain. I really really love the RP but recently bought a B25 in rose azalea second hand since I was really desperate for that colour. So I thought the smartest choice was to take etain. She also mentioned that she needs to get me more bags next year and straight up said what colours were possible - literally the most honest she has been without me having to bring anything up! I am honestly so surprised and relieved because for once I felt appreciated by her. And ladies, she actually followed through on this promise! I am blown away.

Congrats!! Finally! I was feeling so upset for you. It is great that finally we have some wonderful news! Enjoy your new bag!!

agreed with @kathydep - purchase history does not reset, but quota does. any SA (in the U.S.) can see my purchase history going back several years, even with different addresses (someone messed up and instead of changing my address when I moved house, they started a new account for me, and now i have two accounts!).

there is a lot of considerations that go into an offer of a bag, and it may not be consistent from store to store (or from SA to SA, even). the process is never transparent (at least to me) but if you like the brand and the products, and you buy what you like, not just trying to meet a certain 'threshold', hopefully it doesn't feel like a chore IMHO. Of course this is just my take because I'd hate to end up with tens of thousands of "stuff" that I don't even like just so I get my HG bag. Others may feel differently.

Purchase history starts with your first purchase and goes from there; it doesn't renew annually. The most important component is establishing a mutually respectful and satisfying relationship with an SA - Sales Associate. Purchasing what you want, when you want, rather than feeling driven to buy in order to meet an ephemeral quota will only lead to frustration. I second looking for mutually respectful relationships and it unfortunately must be said that kindness goes a very long way especially if you're walking into a boutique around the holidays. I know there are some that think at these prices one should be treated like royalty but from my experience you don't have to spend a lot but being kind and understanding with the store staff will get you the royal treatment much more than throwing around money, clout or making demands. My friends and I have witnessed quite a few demanding scenes and you can practically see the person's name being moved down the bag priority list.

Also, as we've seen on the last few pages-timing is very important. It's not just if they have a bag you want but if your SA is allocated to sell it to their clients, your profile in the store as well as if the store has made internal goals in other categories.

One more tip, I didn't ever ask for a bag. I got to know my SA and the SM and they asked me for my bag wishlist after 6-7 months of regular but not large purchases. It was a very nice feeling actually, I think that's the magic/irony of H. And because they knew me well and liked me a few more months later I was offered a SO bag in my specs that the client passed on.

I was thinking that the youtuber was wrong on this. Regarding purchases, I agree, one should only buy what he/she likes. I am pretty particular so that's not an issue for me and I am = patient. I have a list of things that I've been wanting but just haven't had a chance to stop by the store. Unfortunately, the closest one to me is a bit out of the ways. I have been tempted on several occasions to just purchase an item online! Thank you for the responses.
