I am curious how others get their QB. Do you ask along the way - and/or do you ever ask for a QB? I am lucky that I do like the merchandise in every catagory so I spend - then my SA asks me what is on my wishlist and then I usually get what is on it. I pretty much do 1 bag at a time and pretty conservative asks. I personally don't ask for a QB. How does the SA know when they should ask me - is my account reviewed by the manager? Last question - is a client entitled to 2 QB's a year regardless if they spend (I know this is a dumb and annoying question) but I thought of it today.
I’m not 100% sure what you are asking - if you are asking “will my SA at some point just know I want a qb and get it for me without me asking?” The answer is no. That is very unlikely (and all the people who tell you that’s how it worked for them - well - it seems like you don’t have a qb so that’s not how it’s going to work for you). I also kind of thought that’s how it would work - and it didn’t - and when I FINALLY asked I got a kelly25 in 3 months.

Are you asking for “wishlist” bags that are not qb? If you want a qb and you’ve been shopping for 6 months with this SA you need to say “I’d like to talk about getting a birkin 30 (or kelly25, or whatever it is you want). I haven’t asked until now because I wanted to really get to know the brand and figure out what I really wanted.

Thank you for replying @Letter I truly enjoy your posts. My wishlist bags are all QB. And I think you answered my question - if I am reading it correctly - basically ask and/or keep the dialog going...I usually wait for her to ask me and then she fulfills...
So you have a bunch of qb’s already? Then I feel like your system is working, or you feel like there’s too much time between offers? (Sorry - am I just being very dense here??)

@JLO1 , some of us, probably a small minority, don’t really ask. We count on our SAs to keep an eye out for us if and when something they know we will like comes up. I don’t have a wishlist, and I have a hard time visualizing bags unless they are right in front of me. I know @haute okole slso doesn’t have a wish list and doesn’t ask. ETA: she gets many more limited edition offers (they suit her wonderfully).

Having said that, I started with a new SA post covid, and when he offered me a 30B etoupe that I accepted, he said that had he known, I could have gotten it sooner. But, I didn’t know I wanted/needed an etoupe b30, until it was right in front of me. I also shop at FSH, and I don’t really ask there either (except for my rainbow bolide which I asked for and didn’t expect to get). But, all my SAs know that I’m a neutral color, classic, usually phw person, who loves toile, and who doesn’t really spend a ton on bags (not likely to do exotics). It’s a longer process, but if you aren’t in a rush, it can be very enjoyable.

ETA : however, I am mainly a RTW person and I do have a number of bags already. If you don’t have a wishlist, you have to find another way to communicate what your style and your likes and dislikes are. My SAs know what I already own and what I like.

I think it just depends on your S.A. and the relationship. The first two times I asked my sa what I wanted. The last time she asked me what I wanted. I think if you’ve been with your sa for a while you’ll develop a rhythm that works for you both.

No, clients are not entitled to 2 a year. It depends on demand/store competition , available stock and spend. Low spend doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get two but it probably depends more on luck than anything. If you have very healthy spend then more than likely you will get two unless your wish is very particular.

I have a relaxed to and fro with my SA on this. I don't ask about specific bags a lot, and I don't pester her wanting constant updates which I know she appreciates. My first QB offer this year was initiated by her and was not a bag that I had requested (but I jumped at the offer). My second one was more of a two way conversation. We'd been discussing my interest in a Gris Misty Birkin, and even though we know one is on the way to the boutique at some point (time unquantified of course lol), when she saw a Gris Mouette B30 come into the boutique last week she managed to mark it for me. Again, I hadn't requested this particular shade of grey but when I saw it I knew I would be taking it home with me. She knew it was a surprise option I would be interested in because we have lots of relaxed conversations through which she has built a good understanding of my taste. I think allowing the relationship to develop at its natural pace is the best way of taking the stress out of how to initiate these conversations.

I echo @880 and @Veritybelle , my SA knows my preferences and reaches out if there's a bag she thinks I would like. She always asks me to update my list. I don't really ask for bags, not really my m.o. Sounds like your system is working for you.

I don't bring up QBs or wishlist and when, I assume I hit the magical pre spend #, my SA will ask what I want. In general though, she knows I want to be offered QBs.

My SA is on maternity leave until the end of the year/beginning of next year. She introduced me to another SA via text when she notified me of her leave. I have texted this SA a few times but haven’t heard back. I am losing motivation - spend so far is pretty low, only ~$8k - spent almost an equivalent amount via the website and with other random SAs, which I know doesn’t count. Before my current SA, I didn’t click with anyone and took an 8 month break bc of it. Started again this June. Now with her gone, feeling “lost” if that makes sense. My store is highly competitive, so I understand why the new SA wouldn’t reply bc she has her own clientele to take care of. Why would she when she knows I’ll just go back to my SA when she returns lol. Bc of this, I prefer to wait for my SA to come back, but would another 6-7 month break hurt my profile? I would like a QB eventually but not in a rush - I don’t mind waiting a year+ from today for it, I just want my SA back  TIA!
A while back, my SA was on leave for several months- and as I wasn’t in a rush or in need of anything I didn’t visit the store during the period. When my SA returned, she texted me with pics and that she was back- and we picked up where we left off. Business as usual and offers as well.

Question: With regard to the 2 quota bags per year, how is that year measured? From January through December or from date of purchase?

Example: I received my first Kelly in October 2023 and then my first Birin in June 2024. Would I be eligible for another quota bag in November 2024 or before that date? I have received one quota bag in 2024 but have received 2 within the last 365 days.

Thank you in advance :)
