Yes, this^ @iseebearbears , ask this ^

What you are asking really belongs in H relationship thread, but in the context of (NY) offers, this is my opinion/experience only. NY always orders a lot of noir PHW bc this color/hw is the number 1 combination sold. Just have a conversation as to the likelihood of your top choice B25 this year (is she likely to be authorized/ are you likely to be qualified) ; whether you should pick the danse up now; and why you can’t have a second QB or what would it take to get to your second specific ask. Since you’ve been offered a B25 Fauve Barenia earlier this month? And three Kelly danse bags, I’m sure that you are top of mind.

In NY, it is very possible for a non VIP to get two offers a year. I don’t have more to add; perhaps H relationships would glean more responses for you. If the price increase is a real concern, I don’t know what to tell you. When I was offered a touch lizard vert Rousseau B25 ant FSH this year it was under 13K EU. So, perhaps 30% more in the US, IDK. Unfortunately, many of us cannot control when we get an offer.

ETA: exotics, including touch, are considered a bit easier bc of the higher price point, but your SA has considerations unrelated to your circumstances like the totality of her other sale metrics and the other clients who have not yet gotten their first QBs etc. (I don’t mean to imply these are the only ones; they are simply top of mind right now)
Thank you for the input. IMHO, I do not agree that this belongs in the H relationship thread because it's a matter of choosing one of my top 2 choices. The B25 touch I want is croc, not lizard. So the price is significantly higher. My SA told me that this year. there is a change and that most people are only getting one bag. I've already gotten multiple really good B25 offers this year that I declined, so eligibility isn't the issue. It's just that my wishlist is very specific and I do not want to settle for something less than perfect.

SA communication even within the same city or boutique can, of course, vary greatly. I know some lucky VVIPs who are eligible for more than two QB annually (I am not one of them lol)

I wish you the best of luck in securing your dream bag

They can know what's been ordered. I don't think its as simple as "a list" of incoming bags, and I think some SMs are more secretive than others, but if they research it, they should be able to find the info. Then sometimes things don't come, and they won't have any indication whatsoever of when it will come (literally could be years or never sometimes if H stops producing a spec), but yes, they should be able to find out what is still outstanding from Podium orders.
I believe my SA can see what is coming in the next shipment, because sometimes they offer me a bag or asks if I would like a specific one, but it is not available for a week or two.

Yes, this is true. I was referring to being able to see everything outstanding from the previous podium orders.
So my SA ordered (his words not mine) a bag for me today based on my request after looking at the bags that were coming in…does that mean it’s mine when it comes in? He also said he cannot see what BKCs are coming in (only managers can).

"Order" is an SA word for "reserve" or "wishlist". Basically he put your name on the list of store clients who want the bag. Its generally a first ask first served list. They may be getting 2 of that spec in and have 5 people on the list, for example (which they would see when they "order" it. You would be listed as 5/2, meaning there are 5 "reservations" for 2 items. I've requested a twilly before and when my SA pulled up the screen, it already said 30/8 so we didn't even bother adding my name.) When the first one comes in, it will be scanned into inventory and a screen will pop up with the name and SA name of the first person on the order list. Assuming no hiccups, the popup box will be "accepted" and then a label will print with that client's info on it and put into the SA's pile. The next time the SA is in, they will go through the pile and call people with stickered items. If the person ends up refusing the item for whatever reason, it would be scanned again and the info of the second person on the list will print etc.

And yes, as I said, some managers are more secretive than others, but for a specific bag, they can definitely ping the manager to ask if any are on order or if the client would be wasting their time refusing all other offers waiting for a bag that will never come.

This is really helpful to know! Thank you so much as always!!
Makes sense now why stickers with my names were on a few items when I went in today!

So is the manager the one who “sends” the accept box to the sa? I am assuming they look over the list of what clients are waiting for the bag? Or does it just go to the first sa who requested it?

This isn't for coveted bags generally. But more "website lingering" type bags and all other normal store merchandise. For these items it is generally first requested first served. Coveted bags are handled differently as they arrive and yes, with SM direction and approval.

My sense is that there’s an attempt being made to regularize the process of accommodating requests for merchandise from clients given lack of total clarity from Paris about when things may/may not appear.

So for example, when the new season’s silks and cashmere designs become available on the iPad, clients can indicate their interest, the SA can look up what was ordered by the SM on a different device (that also shows what’s available at other boutiques) and put the clients name on the list to reserve the item (this is the process discussed above). I also understand this can be done with items from other metiers.

I’m pretty sure bags are on that device somewhere but not visible to clients, and depending on how the SM runs the fief, perhaps not visible to all of the SA’s. It does help the SA better serve their clients to some extent, especially for non-BKC bags. I also think this process also reflects Hermes commitment to the in-person boutique client; much of this has been made possible by the relatively new adoption of modern technology— those iPads haven’t been around for very long. But the process of obtaining a bag in your desired specs is still informed by the volumes of posts on this and other threads and stickies on ‘how to get a bag’. :flowers:

My SA will be on vacation the next time I’m in town and able to visit the store. He has told me that the GM of the store is expecting me and can help me with whatever I may need (communicated via text and ended with a wink 😉 emoji which I’m trying not to read into too much!)

Question: have any of you ever been offered a QB by the store manager instead of your SA?

I have been offered more QBs by the CdC than by my first SA (FSH). Mainly bc my first SA was out on maternity leave for over a year, and did not return.

Good luck! Let us know if you get anything amazing!
