I’m new to the brand, and after casually purchasing a pair of shoes last year, my store manager paired me with an SA he thought I would like. I visited him this weekend, and we really hit it off. He chose all of my items for me, 2 pairs of shoes and a beautiful triangle scarf. I had a great time and am so impressed by how well the SA understood my likes and style.

I’m looking forward to the experience. I’m not in a rush, and I’d like to take my time finding things I’ll enjoy and get use from before buying more.

This is a wonderful read! I’m so glad you had and will have a wonderful shopping experience with an SA that will know (and seems to already know your style). It makes all the difference when shopping at Hermes or any other luxury brand. I do not visit my local store as often as I would like, but when I do, I always find something special that either I had not noticed online or didn’t think I liked until I saw/tried it on. I also enjoy just browsing when I go in though the different depts. best of shopping to you.

SA's not only have different ways of interacting with their clients, but also that boutiques are led from the top down. In a small boutique the SM's direction/vibe and bag allocation rules could have a much bigger impact on client interactions than in a larger Maison for example.

I totally agree with this! I have shopped in smaller boutiques where the SM was NEVER on the floor and was like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain... and in other boutiques where the SM was frequently on the floor, greeting and helping customers along with SAs. So I agree that the vibe of the store can depend heavily on the SM's working style... or as they say, the fish stinks from the head down!

Needless to say the boutique where the SM is on the floor and helping out the team has a warmer, friendlier atmosphere and vibe.

I have been wondering about our H journey moving forward. Currently we live in a state where we have an H boutique, but we established a relationship at a boutique in a state where we USED TO spend more time in but still travel to occasionally. I hear that H is becoming more and more preferring and possibly prioritizing clients who can shop face to face in a boutique and discouraging remote shopping and clients. Both my DH and I have a profile with our current SA at this out of state boutique, and our prespend since the last QB in May is very high. We are waiting for the second QB but we also have future spending already planned with this SA at this boutique. I am wondering if it’s advisable to continue to shop at this boutique or consider eventually changing our home boutique to the one in the state we spend the most time in now. I know there are many remote clients here in this community. What are your thoughts? We are happy with our SA, but we are pretty laidback in our relationship with her. Because we are easy customers (both hit high prespend by purchasing only a few items i.g. furniture, FJ, watches), we are afraid we can also be forgettable when we are remote clients and not dropping by the boutique every month. This combined with H’s effort to discourage remote clients/shopping, I am a bit concerned.

Nothing to be concerned about. Stay with your SA.

Are you willing to travel to this boutique to pick up QBs? If so, I would continue with your current boutique. I find that shopping out of area becomes an issue if you are unwilling/unable to travel to pick up items that are currently unable to be shippied.

I have a feeling they won’t forget easy going furniture clientele ☺️

Hoping some of you can’t chime in on my next pathway forward. I am waiting on a kelly from my local boutique and have been shopping here since May of 2019. Since then, i got 2 birkins, 1 kelly and a constance. My pre-spend for those have been 1.5 to 2 ish on qbs and 1.2 on constance. Last time I received a quota bag was in 2023 May, and have not gotten a single offer since then. Since then, my pre-spend is at 30k and this time, my purchase has been more spread out than ever. Only area I didnt shop is mens rtw and equestrian stuff. However, it seems like my SA forgets about my existence and when I bring up a qb, she goes “i believe universe will work itself out. Right now, you want it too much and that’s not how universe works”. Whatever that means, it sounds like she wont give me a bag because when I asked for k28, she said that size doesn’t come in. So when I said I am open to 25, it’s crickets now. In my case, should I just give up and stop going into the store? I have couple of big ticket items I’d like to get such as coats and fine jewelry but don’t want to drop a significant amount until I get a Kelly.

…… it’s just a bag….. she doesn’t need to make it all existential…..

You’ve been shopping with her for a while. Is she the type that just surprises you randomly? 30k is pretty decent spend already esp if you want a k28. And it’s been over a year…..

How often do you go in? Maybe try doing the opposite of that to change it up? Personally I don’t like spending to chase bags bc it doesn’t seem to work that way for me. But if I see smth I like I’ll get it.

I go in every month, or sometimes every other month. I am a scarf lover, so tend to go in to get at least a carre or carre leads to something else. She never surprises me and gets upset if I bring up the subject, but if I don’t ask, then she never mentions. I thought she’d appreciate my loyalty but nowadays, I just feel like a bother that maybe its best that I change stores?

While I’m too new to give any advice, I’d like you to know that I feel you and I applaud you for your patience. Hang in there.
