Just out of curiosity, I have a question: Do SAs, and/or the Hermes Corporate in general, lurk what we discussed here? [I think some may have asked this question before, but I can't find any resources...]

Context 1: I texted my SA that we should not stick only with the Box leather and am flexible with any other leather types since the Box leather is only available via push offers and I don't want to wait indefinitely. [Of course, I did not say this exactly.] My SA then noted. She was also wondering how I got such info (e.g., a concept of "push offer", etc.)...

Context 2: I am also getting scared a bit (in terms of jeopardizing for not getting any QB this year) since I can be easily identifiable (via my posts) by Madison Maison... If that's the case, I will need to stop posting more on here...

Thank you!

I don't think all SAs read tpf but I have a friend whose SA has gone on the forum, so I'm sure some SAs read it, probably just for fun.

I think you can explain to your SA that you have a friend who works for Hermes and he explained the term to you!

I agree with you that people who post overwhelming details here and cross post identical stories on IG/Facebook/reddit easily out themselves to SAs and nefarious competitive clients. I'm always shocked by how open many people are on such a public Internet forum.

So, I never use other means of social media (e.g., IG/FB/Reddit), and only use this Forum for Hermes-related discussions... Should I be worried? (omg, I am scared already. haha)

My SA has been promoted, and we requested an appointment on the day that they are not working. They have said they can introduce us to a new SA..just wondering, could the following scenarios I have made up in my head be true?

1) We are not frequent clients so my current SA is trying to offload us to another colleague, who works on the days that we can visit the store?
2) Should I take the meeting to meet the new SA they are trying to connect me with, or should we just try and vibe with a new SA?
Agree with @texas87 that your old SA is simply recommending someone to you. I don’t see why you wouldn’t take the meeting assuming you like your former SAs taste. A men’s manager told me that when she was promoted, she tried to hang onto a few clients, but she didn’t have the time for appts etc. My new SA is a recommendation. My old SA still hangs out when possible; answers texts; and checks in. It’s all good.
Your SA asked you to show them your receipt from the QB that you purchased from them? I don't get it... wouldn't that already be in the system?

One of the more unprofessional questions would not expect an SA to ask from Hermes
Agree with @Bdbunny and @Love Of My Life that this is an unprofessional and bizarre request. Your SA should be able to pull up any pertinent info. Plus, some of us aren’t organized about receipts.

H Singapore SAs famously do. Others, who knows. My SA has a toddler and a busy life, and he barely has time to read his text messages, much less waste on TPF. He knows I’m on TPF for entertainment, but warns me not to get sucked in by the crazies. However, Hermes does have ways of monitoring on line activity and other ways of finding info. . .there have been anecdotes of SAs taking kick backs in the form of fancy vacations etc who have been outed by their instagram. And, other tales

I agree with this. I would assume that if you post on line, especially with pics, you undertake some risk. Not sure why anyone would assume a public forum isn’t, well open to the public. But, for those of us whose only form of social media is TPF, not sure we care lol. I would however, not divulge any private information from my SA or SM on TPF unless said info was relatively widely known. And, I would also never share any SAs contact info without explicit permission on a case by case basis. Bottom line, if you are writing something that you would not want your SA to find out, then perhaps don’t post.

ETA: SAs and SMs do sometimes bring up clients in weekly meetings. So, if your behavior is outside of the average norm, it may be noted even if Hermes staff and management don’t have the H subforum bookmarked.

Thank you, @acrowcounted and @880! I just realized that I am too much exposed now. I will try to be more careful and stay silent when possible. Your insights have been very helpful and I want to thank both of you.

Whether SA's or Hermes Corporate have a look see here or other social media sources, at the end of the day it is always better to be discreet especially if one feels that they are easily identifiable, JMO
We all have options as to what & where we share, SA's usually don't make judgements I have found
& maybe that has to do with the relationship, again JMO

As far as I understand, if you bought a QB from the store (aka not from a reseller) then that bag is “assigned” to you in the system at check out, so if you ever take it in to another store for spa, once they put the serial number of the bag into the system your profile will come up. So I don’t know why your SA would need to see your receipt, unless they forgot to put that bag under your profile?

As far spotting resellers, I think it is part of the SA’s job to “vet” clients to minimize resellers. My SA will casually ask me sometimes where is my XYZ bag if I didn’t wear it to the store, so I just make it a point to wear my H bags when I visit, just to show her I still have it and didn’t sell it.
My experience has not been where my SA has asked or commented about not seeing
a bag that I have purchased from Maison Madison. Just the opposite. In fact, when they
see me carrying a vintage bag that I've had from the 90's they are delighted to see how well
the bag has held up or if I'm carrying a bag that I purchased in Paris. No underlying sense of
curiosity that I've detected. The same thing applies to RTW.. usually I'm wearing something vintage,
new or from a previous collection & will see my SA smiling..
SA's are quite savvy in spite of us perhaps not always given them their due credit.

Here are my thoughts on the subject:
  • I assume personal technology is not allowed at the store and access to the web is blocked by IT so SAs are not standing around reading our posts having a good laugh
  • I know my SA could care less about what anyone posts on social media and even someone sent it to her, she would have forgotten by the next morning.
  • That does not mean that overzealous SMs or assistant SMs or other SAs are not doing it. Out of curiosity. To get a promotion: look, I outed a reseller. To get ahead of the colleague: look, her clients resell and talk bad about our store, do not allocate any more blue box offers to her clients but give them to mine.
  • For all we know some of the posters here could be SAs having fun with all of us. Could it be me? Just kidding. Of course not. But maybe.. Did I just say that out loud? ;)

Hi All, would love some input in this current situation I'm facing. My SA has been promoted, and we requested an appointment on the day that they are not working. They have said they can introduce us to a new SA..just wondering, could the following scenarios I have made up in my head be true?

Appreciate your thoughts.
Two of my SAs were recently promoted to non-sales positions. Completely legit - why would you think otherwise? Hermès is famous for promoting from within - one is unlikely to get a senior store role if one has never been on the floor.

In my case, I still work with one SA as kind of a unique case even though technically they don't sell, and the other referred me to an awesome new person, however, occasionally we still do have appointments, and we stay in touch personally.

I would 1000% take the referral, of course.

They absolutely do. Like any large company, there are folks at H monitoring all online chatter on a daily basis, and many many SAs and SMs are obviously socially active. Some are public (see influencer thread)...most are not, but many follow their clients. People have been busted as resellers this way.

I agree with you that people who post overwhelming details here and cross post identical stories on IG/Facebook/reddit easily out themselves to SAs and nefarious competitive clients. I'm always shocked by how open many people are on such a public Internet forum.
Agreed!

Access to the web during work hours is definitely not blocked in either the US or France. I use WeChat (often) and Facebook (occasionally) to talk to a couple of my SAs, and unlike text and WhatsApp these aren't company channels; I've also looked at general "web things" with SAs many times in the course of general chat (like "Oh, I love Sardinia, let me show you this hotel" "can you believe this Reddit thread" etc etc).

But then you probably know this, because, YOU know ;)

Personally, I think you’ve been pumped for information in another thread and you’ve given out a ton of info.

I might be a bit more circumspect about what questions I’m answering and why they are being asked. But that’s just me.

Thank you all for helpful suggestions. I admit that I have made mistakes (even if I did not do anything unethical, etc.).

The worst scenario would be these:
- My SA/SM in home store would find this out and I will never have any QBs offered this year and in the future.
- Paris may have also been upset with me and will never offer me any QBs.

Is this the reality that I am facing, right? And then, only the time will tell what will happen to me, right?

I know I should not worry too much, but just wanted to have a reality check. TIA!

Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t feel like you’ve said anything that you should worry about? So what if they know who you are?

My SA said some of his clients do their own research and know H and “the rules” (his words) better than he does. And he’s perfectly fine with it.
