The year I graduated, my first month at work, and my first salary. I immediately went to the LV store in my city. I had an amazing and very productive conversation with SA. Actually, it was a small purchase for LV, but because of my knowledge of the brand's history, I spent a long time with SA. Later, when she became the manager of the store, our relationship continued. She has now left her job, but we still message each other on special occasions through IG.

As I mentioned earlier, my hubby is French. For the French, there's usually the perspective of 'you never know whose money it is,' so they never evaluate their customers based on their current outfit or appearance. Therefore, an outfit that wouldn't even get a glance elsewhere might get significant attention in Paris.

However, the world is changing, and values have changed since those years. I still believe in building relationships through individual communication where language advantage exists. However, this gets a bit disrupted in tourist cities during shopping experiences.
In the country where I currently live as an expat, there's no H store. Even in my home country, the H store hardly gets any bags. Because my hubby is from there, Paris has always been a city easily accessible for me, but there I'm neither a tourist nor a local. LOL.

Next Friday we'll be in Paris, and during my one-month stay, I'll try to establish a relationship with an SA. Frankly, reading the forum and having a daily set of relationship techniques can sometimes fall out of service when I see someone else's post.

Planning a clear relationship strategy for H seems very difficult from what I understand.

Good luck to everyone.

Sometimes the best strategy is to have no strategy at all. I wish you a very good stay in Paris and a smooth purchase of the apartment (I know firsthand how complicated it can get, even for French nationals).
Stay strong and recover well. My entire family are doctors and my Dad is a
cancer specialist. We understand what you are going through. Please don't let Hermes add any additional stress.

Thank you very, very much. Honestly, I can't decide whether finding an apartment or buying a QB is harder. Lol. :girlsigh:

Cancer is hard to explain. I'm learning by experiencing it. Frankly, I have no place for extra stress.

Hi, after waiting for a year plus, my quota bag finally came. My SA updated me on the day of collection of my bag, that unfortunately, the bag has two dots and will inform me when the new batch arrives. It's been a month and there's still no news of my bag. I have requested a neutral 25 birkin. I thought this popular combination should come in more often. My question is how often I should ask my SA on the status of my birkin? I have asked my SA twice and the 2nd time, my SA did not answer that question anymore. I'm so afraid that I will be put on the queue to wait again.
I'm happy to update my SA finally notified me to collect my bag slightly over a month since the date when I was informed that the bag has spots and the bag I received is perfect..=)

I wonder if this varies from store to store. I have heard/read others say a non quota bag counted toward their pre-spend, in the context that they were at or under 1:1 and had purchased a few non quota bags, but then again they might be trying to make it sound like they were receiving preferential treatment, fanning the flames, as social media commentary tends to do. But I have heard people say it counted "for them." I have also heard/read that some clients get offered a B or K and then another shortly after, making it seem as though the first QB counted toward pre-spend. But maybe they got something else, secretly. Other Hermes enthusiasts are becoming unreliable narrators! jkjkjk
So I do believe the people who said their non-quota counted towards their prespend bc I think this was true years before. I have a friend who started the journey years ago and her parents have established accounts as well. So when she was giving me advice on my journey, she kept telling me my non-quota should count towards my prespend which in more recent years, people have said it doesn’t. So I think for older clients the rules probably still apply since they have shown they are established clients who loves the brand.

No, they do not count but the spend varies by person and relationship so yes some do receive bags with a relatively low spend

low/no prespend because one only purchased bags is kind of like girl math. does one consider being offered their QB on sale then since they didn't have to spend in other areas? I'm just kidding. but thank you for clarifying.

In 2021 I was told that non-QBs do count toward pre-spend, then in 2022 I was told they themselves now almost require pre-spend due to low stock and overwhelming demand, so they don’t count toward pre-spend anymore.

I have been shopping at Madison for around a year, have had 2QB offers thus far at <1:1 that were not quite right so declined. Have very specific specs in mind and don’t mind waiting. But how to stay in touch with my SA when there is nothing I need right now? Waiting for fall RTW to come in. Don’t want to bother the SA since I know they have aggressive sales goals to meet

I would just text pls let me know if there is anything in Upcoming RTW that you think I would like.

I had an appt recently and there was a ton of new RTW. Not much runway, but more wearable offerings (no traffic light yellow lol)

ETA: if you have very specific specs for your next bag, your SA will not forget :)

Thanks this is helpful. I am not looking to buy things just for the sake of prespend especially since I know bags are scarce this year, I have been offered before and I am willing to wait for my exact specs. But also don’t want the SA to forget me or think I have disappeared

Hello all !

Looking for an advice on the below:

When I last visited the store, my SA brought up my wish list the moment we met and said we need to narrow down the list to a primary choice and a “back up” choice. My SA said they should have likely have news for me by day X.

As the day has passed, I wonder what is the etiquette here?

Assuming my offer may not have
been endorsed by SM. Should I just check in next time I’m in store or would an email be fine ?

I strongly encourage not to email about it. Just ask the next time you are face to face. Clearly if the answer were a "yes", she'd have reached out but following up may get you back in line for the next one. "Any news on the XYZ you thought might have been in by last week?"
