Gotcha, good point. I’m definitely not
planning on doing the fast and furious hahaha. How soon after the first bag offer would you bring up a second one? Like a few months?
I would wait for the sa to bring it up. If you bring it up, you may end up spending a lot and being strung along for an expensive ride. When you are ready (ie have spent enough for the next one) your sa will be the one reminding you.

I know everytime I hear that I’m like is this real?? Seems like everyone on youtube is getting offers with little to no spend. But when I go here people are saying they spend $40-50k minimum.
You don’t have to rely on either social media bloggers or tPF commenters if you are uncertain about how truthful/useful the information is. As my DH says, ‘economics will have its way’. Take a look at the price of the bags you’re interested in across a few reputable resellers. That’s the real economic price. Everything else is mostly noise.

All I know is my own shopping experience and some trusted commentators here- that have been shopping much longer than I have and are established clients. Perhaps there are rare occurrences that a shopper can purchase a bag with little or no shopping profile (attribute it to timing, weather, randomness etc) but that is not the norm for most.

From my experience my first quota bag was with little prespend (when I was not even aware of what quota bag was) then second with a little more spending, and on and on. I have posted it before- so please don’t quote me if my figures are incorrect as I don’t track spending - but there have been times I have spent at least 5-8/10x bf a bag offer. Then I have had bag offer back to back with minimal spending.

I have a very nice shopping relationship with my SA (bc i spend money when I go in) I do not ask for quota bags and I have been told that I can get any non quota bag any time and since I’m not in a rush- I can also get most quota bags I am interested in. I currently can’t thing of a bag I would want. I am after a difficult to find necklace and some homeware most of the time.

Do not believe all that you see on social media, while I do not follow any influencers, I can assure you getting a kelly or a birkin requires lots of spending and takes time. When you ask for a quota bag, SA may think you will buy just to get an offer - it can get expensive. Best of luck

This 100% It’s just a question of whether you want other stuff for that economic price as well as the bag (in which case stick with boutique) or you just want the bag - then a reputable reseller is a valid option.

Mod feel free to move is this is better suited in another thread. I’ve been a long time Hermes collector but really only purchased via resellers because I have never lived near an Hermes boutique and the opportunity never presented itself and I never really sought it out. I am H bag content but I am looking to create a relationship with an SA (have made a connection with one). I’m not looking for a b or a k at the moment but obviously would purchase if the moment presented itself organically down the road… I am looking towards a long term H relationship and will buy what I like and actually want and have no expectation of getting offered a b or a k. I do not live near this boutique but will travel there and visit the boutique a few times a year. The SA asked for my wishlist right off the bat for my first visit. I just said I’m looking for some shoes and maybe a few scarves if they hit my fancy or mentioned a mini bolide if they have one in stock when I visit. Obviously every store, SA, country is different (I’m in the US). Since I’m not familiar with this whole H boutique thing did she mean my long term wishlist or “hey what are some items I can pull for you that are readily available?“ I have no expectations for this visit or future ones for that matter other than making a connection and starting a relationship with a SA/store. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t misunderstand her and the H lingo lol

I’m honestly not in a rush I know we get 2 qb per year so if there’s a possibility of the second one I would go for it. That’s why I’m asking for your experiences.
It's typically one QB every 6 months, different rules for certain clientele of course, not 2 per calendar year. Just wanted to point that out given your other post mentioning getting a second QB by end of year after just getting your last one(congrats btw!)

I’m not sure if it’s just my store (in so cal) or it’s just bc I don’t spend mega bucks but I was told at my store it’s one/year. Or maybe bc I’m a newer client? Or perhaps just increased demand.

At first I was bummed but in retrospect it’s probably better for my psyche and my wallet to slow down and appreciate what I get instead of feeling the need to “get two in before the year ends”

I was told 1/year too, ha! Different rules for different people I guess?

The transparency is sickening lmao.

Maybe I'm the only one, but...one a year seems like enough? I appreciate that people want to build collections (I do, too!), but it doesn't have to happen overnight. Given the amount of spend that goes into getting each bag, one a year seems like a more than reasonable pace for the vast majority of shoppers. Getting two a year sounds like a really big spending experience, and a treat if someone can pull it off, but why not just enjoy the one?

I’m in the US, and been told 1. Been waiting for a long time now and contemplating switching boutiques/SAs.
ah, got it. I do agree with @Midge Maisel above in that I’m content with where I am. I meant up to 2 in the US. If it helps with anyone’s calculus, last year, I did not personally accept more than 1 offer in the US and my spend is probably maintained at least 5X plus (which is not VIP level where I am).

I’m in so cal too. I defiantly think it depends on relationship and spend. I hit 2QB early this year (April) but because I received a SO in January. I feel like SoCal is very competitive so high spend is something that affects QB.
