For advice on how to obtain a B/K/C please go to the reading room in the Reading Room The Newbie's HOW DO I GET A BIRKIN (or other bag) Reading Room

For advice on how to shop at your local store please do a search in Hermes Shopping sub-forum and look for your store/region/country.

Just my personal opinion but asking for another bag immediately after the first seems ungrateful and unappreciated. I would focus on loving what you got and being happy with it. Bring it with you when you return to shop for those other items. SAs have a way of letting you know when another bag is coming due so I would wait for that prompting. Bag #1 and #2 in three months in 2023, unless you are doing fast and furious spending ($30k non leather per visit for example) seems like an unreasonable expectation. I see no reason to wait on the other items though. Spending in October vs January isn’t going to have any difference in effect (in fact, if I HAD to choose, I would say continuing to spend without a break eliminates the thought that you were disappearing after a bag purchase).
Gotcha, good point. I’m definitely not
planning on doing the fast and furious hahaha. How soon after the first bag offer would you bring up a second one? Like a few months?

I love my SA, I usually go see him once every few months ( I am not rich ) he helps me find or order the stuff I want, but I think male SA doesn’t give as much advice as female SA but anyway , we also talk about some other stuff like traveling, parenting , sth like that. Just like friendship, and he knows I do love the brand, also understands I won’t spend that much money every year. My opinion is please don’t spend tons of money on things you don’t like, i know people buy them to please their SAs, in order to get the QB, but trust me all the employees know the reason why we are shopping at Hermes, yes QBs! So sit back and relax, buy things you like, make the store visit like hangout with your friends, the SAs are more willing to offer the QBs to those who truly love the brand. Seriously, If you are store employees, do you like those customers coming and told you “give me a QB, I will spend $$$$$ today, just tell me how much I need to spend “ unless you are a celebrity

Deviating from your personality because you just got this bag is not necessary. Take a deep breath, enjoy your purchase, and continue to shop as you have previously done. There's no magic formula for how to shop or have a conversation. Only you know your relationship with your SA and how this person works and acts.

If you are in the store and the wish list conversation comes up in an organic matter, go for it. Maybe you check out the F/W or S/S24 swatches and say "gosh this new beige marfa color is the dream! I wonder if it would ever be possible to get this in ... insert xyz whatever bag you like". Or whatever is on your list; I don't know your wishes.

I try my best to read the room and go from there. When it comes up it comes up. But I'm also not trying to fill a quota year on year. After 14 years of collecting that is simply too much bag volume for me to handle in my tiny closet.

For those who got 2+ offers, did you think your 2nd offer was more difficult to obtain than your 1 one, easier, or same? If I got a first offer early September can I try and go for another one by the end of the year? Or no point in even trying?
I can offer you my observations on how things seem to work Post Covid in my boutique. Typically, if a client has been offered a B or a K in September or October, they consider the "need met" for the highly sought after bag and they try to offer to other clients who have not had their wish list recently granted for that quarter. Demand for these bags always outstrips the actual supply and I believe they do try to make a wider audience satisfied versus multiples to the same client in a relatively short period. Congrats on your new bag. Enjoy to the fullest and be patient, another bag will come in time!:)

Super helpful, thank you!

why space purchases out (unless you are in ASia and spend doesn’t carry over)
I buy when I see something I like bc I don’t know if I will see it again

is there a reason why you are in a rush to get another by year end?

as to whether you could get one, by that time, probably depends on your level of spend*
and whether other clients similarly situated have gotten their first ones yet.

I’m personally anti wish list and would rather my SA hunt for what he thinks will be perfect for me.
IMO, it’s slower but more organic. If you update now, I think it sends the wrong message

*by level of spend, I mean that if you are spending at many multiples (in my local store, it’s not unusual
for clients to spend 2-8X per visit) and have regularly sustained that level for a lengthy period of time,
not squeezing out 1-2X more between this bag and the next. JMO and YMMV
I’m honestly not in a rush I know we get 2 qb per year so if there’s a possibility of the second one I would go for it. That’s why I’m asking for your experiences.

Reactions: highend
I was thinking more 20K-80K lol, if you want it that fast (in two months)

i would NOT bring up another bag after 10K. Because it would be a combo of greedy
(perhaps we all are, but still) AND ungrateful
I see your point. But then there are “fashion bloggers” who get bags offered after buying a pair of shoes.. lol

I was thinking of writing a tome, mostly thanking all those tPFers who so generously share their experience and advice about how to maintain a relationship with H, and then I read your post and thought I'd just quote a sentence or two but ended up finding too much good info! Ditto to most of what you've written @jimmyshoogirl
I also think we may both have the same particular bag high on our list
Late to this discussion, but as someone who started shopping H bags in the good old days, then returned after years of focusing on raising kids etc to find the H world had completely changed (“what do you mean I can’t just order absolutely any bag I want any more??” ), I echo this. I think because H bags (especially) are timeless, there’s not really any issue about waiting. It’s not as if you are going to miss some fast trend. I just try to remember that for me it’s fun luxury shopping but for the SA it’s transactional at heart (no matter how lovely she may be) - striking the balance between those two leads to a happy outcome.
