My most recent anecdote in this regard is that I’ve been waiting for a bowl in the Soleil d’Hermes series (only managed to get one at the time of the line’s launch and I want a pair) since their launch which I think was May 2022. And I literally just got a text from my SA today that they finally got some:nuts:!! Now there is only one more bowl in the same series (diff size) that I’m still waiting for…hahaha

Sometimes it is a bit of timing and luck too! It can also depend on things such as what your SM likes to order for your store.
My oh my!!! The Soleil d'Hermes series! :drinks: I wanted to buy the bowls and plates on the first day I met my SA and guess what... several months later, here I am with my dream Kelly and still waiting for the bowls  And my SA has been wonderful in finding me sought-after belts and shawls but the bowls hahaha

@880 @jbeans @PrincessSoFear your comments crack me up

To stay on topic, I would guess that SAs allocate the in-demand items across their existing clients like A gets the Kelly belt just a week ago so perhaps she won't mind waiting for a bit for the Orans whereas B hasn't got anything on her wishlist for a while so I'll let her get the Orans first? Then everyone gets a bit of what they want and waits a bit (and saves up a bit before the next boutique visit)?

Agree with @maxroxxherhandbags about jumping from SAs to SAs (if that's the case) and that SAs might prefer if you have established yourself as a regular returning client before they allocate in-demand items to you given the limited stock. Good luck in finding the items that make your heart sing :flowers:

I recently purchased a Birkin that my SA helped me secure after waiting for a few months. It’s been a couple weeks since the purchase, and I want to thank him in a simple, courteous manner. I’d love to purchase a quota bag every year or so, and I’m not an insane spender, so maintaining the relationship with him is important to me. I was thinking about handwriting a note and mailing it to the store address. Is that a strange idea, or a nice gesture? Of course I don’t want to come off like a crazy person stalking my SA or bribing him. What do you think is appropriate?

I've written a card specifically to thank my FSH SA (who went above and beyond) and also to the person who crafted my Horizon bag.
This I felt was appropriate and yet something special to do, because in this case we could request that SA to pass it to the person who made it from scratch, at the atelier upstairs at FSH. Would have loved to do that for all my bags, but logistically probably not possible especially nowadays with so many ateliers opened.
I think your SA would appreciate it very much.

Not a strange idea! A handwritten note/card is the best available choice - it’s actually forbidden (corporate policy) for them to accept gifts of value because of what you said (that it can veer into bribery for quota bags).

The other option some people do is to send something that can be shared by the whole team (normally that means some sort of food/treats) but I feel like that since the pandemic it’s been less common.

Hi everyone! I have always wanted a B25 and have shopped with my SA for a 2.5 years. I mentioned wanting a bag last year and was basically told that we'd have to work together and implied that I need to spend more money. I just got a non-quota bag a little less than a month ago and want to bring up getting a birkin again but not sure how to go about it since I just got a bag from the SA. How long would you wait or do you think it's okay to bring it up again next time I see them?

Alot of people have this same worry. If you take the time to read the posts in this thread, you will see that a lot of people and responded to this very question.

I would bring it up every chance you feel comfortable talking about it. Obviously, don't "beg", but duscussing it let's your SA know you are serious and what your intentions are.

I brought up my wishlist the second time (or maybe even the first time) I shopped with my SA, and discuss it everytime we talk. Matter of fact, my SA and I reviewed my wishlist again last night while standing in my closet.

I think people make shopping with H more difficult for themselves than it need to be. I can also see why some people struggle with the relationship part. Sometimes too much info can be bad. Just shop and ask for what you want. If they don’t have it ask when/if they can get it. We are spending way too money to be afraid to ask for what we want to pay for.

Someone just asked this question the previous page. Just read through the thread. The easiest thing would just be to ask your SA for what you want. Forget timing of other purchases. “Hey x, I was wanting to put in a request for x. When can we do it?”

I asked my second time visiting only because I wasn’t sure of what I wanted and I wanted to talk to the SA and familiarize myself with the store. 2.5 years is a good amount of time to be shopping with someone regularly. You both should know each other well enough to speak about your wants. Just go for it!

I would be honest. It’s a business relationship and you don’t want to be spending into a void or your SA to forget about. That said it’s an in demand bag and she may set your expectations accordingly. 2.5 years is a long time but bag allocation will also depend on spend etc. and if you are really far off it’s better to know.

Or more since size 25 in B or K are in high demand right now!!!

Just wondering: if the SM / SA of your home store orders something for you from Paris (as in the warehouse/atelier rather than a boutique in Paris) as it’s not something they stock, does the home store get credit since you’re not buying from that store’s inventory?

Home store will get credit for facilitating the sale.
