You asked her kind of an unanswerable question. For all she knows, you’re about to hit her with an “ok great! Can you grab the display rose Sakura mini Kelly for me from Madison? I’ll be in on Tuesday to pick it up!”
I see. I did tell say it was a scarf in a different colorway and was just checking if it can be transferred, but I didn't realize all these nuances in texting with the SA. I would think that if it was possible, the response would be "sure, give me the reference number and let me check" . I'm newish to this brand so it's good to have resources like this to ask people who have more experience!

I’m not an sa. However, I have lots of clients that have to text me. The ones that get the quickest response, because I am busy, are the ones that would be direct, clear and concise. The ones I have to pull info from unfortunately are the ones that don’t get the quickest responses. I can’t imagine having to have back and forth texts with 20-30 people a day!

Hey! This is SpiderMan. Id like to order im item abc in color x and size b. Please let me know when you’ve ordered.

No SA will ask u to give the reference number. Coz any normal customer will not care about the company’s internal inventory reference number.

It is only in this crazy world of H game/race that customers do the work of the SA to find the inventory reference. Otherwise they have no time to look for it.

I can't speak for all the SAs out there, but all of mine (Hermes, Chanel, LV) would ask for a reference code or link if I sent them a screenshot from the website. I think it's a reasonable thing to ask...

Ha….Really? None of mine ever…I mean we r luxury shopping. Not grocery shopping.

I think it’s very reasonable as well if they can see it’s a screenshot from website. But if it is a social media photo, then I hope they don’t ask.

It is also my practice to give the reference.

Yes only when it's clearly a screenshot from the website! Sometimes the name alone is not very descriptive ("Shirt", "Denim Jacket", "Flap Bag"). It only happened a few times, I just include the reference code now to make their lives easier

My SA says giving the reference number is super helpful, that way she can look up if it’s coming, not coming and/or if she can just order it or even if it’s on the way to the store. Best way to get exactly what you are after. I don’t think all SA’s ask this, but mine has mentioned to me a number of times that she appreciates when I send the reference number as it also saves her time searching for an item.

My sa has never asked me for reference number. I just personally try to give as much info as possible because I deal with people that drag things on unnecessarily. I’m trying to be helpful and get what I want and get out of the store! I don’t feel the need to be served or trying to make someone do their job, no matter the environment.

Hi ladies, so I have been shopping with my sa for 6 months now. I spent a little more than 1:1 ratio. I don’t want to spend any more and just want to wait for an offer but the sa keeps texting me about a piece of fine jewelry. Is it ok if I can tell her I would like to wait for the bag first and purchase that fine jewelry together with the bag? Thank u!

Don’t think they can hold any stock for so long nowadays. And if u don’t buy it, u may not get the bag.

The problem is I already Spent more than 1:1 and my location is not that competitive, so I try not to spend more than what I need to or u think I might have to buy it?
All stores are competitive now. 1:1 probably isn’t enough and your SA is likely hinting at that by offering you expensive jewelry pieces. Sadly, 2-3:1 is a better expectation these days. ETA just looked at your other posts and it looks like you shop in Toronto? That’s a notoriously difficult store.

It’s always alright to do what’s best for you, but understand it will impact the relationship if it’s something you requested. They probably won’t be able to hold it and will be disappointed they aren’t getting the sale. Current ratios are about 3:1 in the US. Smaller stores are still competitive; they get less inventory.

Sounds like she wants you to purchase the FJ which will "unlock" the bag for you.
