I think my SA was going to offer me my first qb ( a c18) as he talked to me about it yesterday. He didn’t outwardly say one was available for me or that he was going to offer me one. Instead he just asked if I would be interested in one when we were in store yesterday. He then said he would show me one if he had it in person next time. Today when texting him about some orans, I confirmed that I wasn’t interested in the c as the shape and size wasn’t to my liking so I wouldn’t buy it. I think he took it well cuz he replied with “fair enough, i got u!” ( thru text message). Hopefully he’s not going to take it personally. What do u think?
I'm sure it's fine. They don't want you buying things you don't love. Someone else will gladly take that C18. Hell, I'd take a Constance. Lol. If a SA got his panties in a twist over declining a bag, it's time for a new SA. I've declined a Kelly To Go and I know a lot of people want that, but my SA was totally cool with it and offered me a Birkin may 2 weeks later. Spend on what you love so you have no regrets. I think that's where people go wrong. They overthink it and focus on "building a profile", instead of just buying what they really love (not like, love. You gotta love it at these prices). If you buy what you love, it doesn't matter if you get offered a bag.

Thanks for chiming in. You’re right, someone else will pounce on the c18 and love it. From the YouTube videos I’ve seen online they’re beautiful and cute at the same time. I just have a specific preference for rectangular bags, square , round or heart shaped bags don’t sit right with me. Lol. The money I’m spending on my H obsession is my own which I worked hard for so I definitely only buy things I truly love especially for the prices that Hermes products command

My apologies if this is a basic/crass question, but upon reading the bag offers thread I must ask: Is it in poor form to ask the price of a bag before accepting/declining?
No, it’s not poor form, but some people get shy about asking, especially, I would assume, if they are leaning toward turning down the offer (might then appear they turned it down over financing rather than desire).

You should ask as much as you like. There are many times in shops when I want to decide how to allocate what I want to spend, and I couldn’t do it without the information on price.

No way! I don't think SAs expect you to know the price for everything, or that "money is no object." :lol: For shoes/bags I usually know ball-park price of things I ordered/want, but for random RTW or fine jewelry pieces I see in store and consider buying I never hesitate to ask for prices. Sometimes my SA would even tell me prices of different options that are available (e.g. +$X for touch, +$Y for more diamonds).

How often do you all visit your local boutique with your SA?
When he texts me that something I might like has come in. It really varies and there is an ebb and flow.

@pinksandblues ,
+1 with @jbeans re my SA telling me the price of X compared to a few other things. My SA might also say, hey, get this now, bc it will disappear, or take time to think about it bc it will be around. . . Also, you really need to ask re RTW and home items, bc some prices are relatively reasonable and others are ridiculous IMO.

I have been trying to work up my H relationship recently. I'm not able to just pop in to the boutique, as the nearest store is 2-3+ hours away from me, depending on the horrific traffic... but over the past few months I have bought a Roulis, some twillies, perfume, 2 Orans and a belt. So, maybe 15k - nothing too crazy. I'm friendly with my SA and check in sporadically. I usually do phone orders, as I have a newborn and the trip to the boutique is even more difficult now:sad: She also knows my wishlist - B30, K28, Garden party and other misc., non-quota items. My SA has said the boutique just hasn't had great stock lately, obvi for the B and K, but also incl. the non-quota pieces....:-s

Do you guys think an offer will come soon or still need more purchase history behind me?

Just curious b/c my birthday is coming up in two months... So, I'm debating whether I should keep my fingers crossed that I get an offer w/n the next two months, or if I should have my jeweler start making me something instead... Also want to add that I'm in no rush for a B or K, just curious if I could maybe get a bag for a bday present with my current purchase history... TIA!:biggrin:

Lol yes! You definitely don't wanna accidentally buy the Panthera blanket when you'd budgeted for the Avalon! Almost happened to a friend, she missed a 0 when checking price online. :lol:
