I have been trying to work up my H relationship recently. I'm not able to just pop in to the boutique, as the nearest store is 2-3+ hours away from me, depending on the horrific traffic... but over the past few months I have bought a Roulis, some twillies, perfume, 2 Orans and a belt. So, maybe 15k - nothing too crazy. I'm friendly with my SA and check in sporadically. I usually do phone orders, as I have a newborn and the trip to the boutique is even more difficult now:sad: She also knows my wishlist - B30, K28, Garden party and other misc., non-quota items. My SA has said the boutique just hasn't had great stock lately, obvi for the B and K, but also incl. the non-quota pieces....:-s

Do you guys think an offer will come soon or still need more purchase history behind me?

Just curious b/c my birthday is coming up in two months... So, I'm debating whether I should keep my fingers crossed that I get an offer w/n the next two months, or if I should have my jeweler start making me something instead... Also want to add that I'm in no rush for a B or K, just curious if I could maybe get a bag for a bday present with my current purchase history... TIA!
Unfortunately, the Roulis won’t count for much on your profile so your spend number that matters is much less than 15k. However, you aren’t asking for mini bags so your chances are higher. You likely still need to make a few trips to the store for visits and purchases. Face time with the SA is sadly important. That being said, the best luck in getting a bag offer tends to be right after you’ve decided you won’t be getting an offer and spend the money elsewhere… Good luck!

Sounds about right! Looks like I will be giving my jeweler a call then...

Curious. Why does the Roulis not count for much on my profile? Is it based more on how often I buy random, misc. items and not how much each item costs? Thinking about it now, all my purchases have been in person, except the last 2 Orans. The first oran, I was in store but they didn't have my size. My SA located and then shipped after they arrived to the store. The second oran was a complete phone order. It's just not feasible for me to make the trip with a 2-month old now. So, if not a lot of face time is a deal breaker, guess I won't be getting an offer any time soon:sad:

Usually leather goods, and in particular handbags, don't count towards your pre-spend. I think they do show your *general* appreciation and love for the brand, but other categories (for example, home goods, fine jewelry, RTW) are the ones that really count.

I also heard that clients have to buy something from all depts ( rtw, jewelry, slg, home, non qb bags, ) at H to qualify for the b/k. Is that true fm your experience?

I am still on my journey  but I will say my SA went from "our stock is low" and "we aren't getting anything" to "are you open to size 30?" and "what about other leather types?" when I started buying from other categories. I don't think you *need* to buy from all categories (and I certainly don't plan to because I'm not drawn to certain categories and I won't buy just to buy), and I don't think you need to spend an inordinate amount (based on stories I hear on tPF, YT, etc.), but I think it helps when your SA and the SM see that you appreciate the brand as a whole, and not just on bags / leather. I hope this is helpful and best of luck!

Hello everyone

I have been reading this thread for awhile now but would like any advice for my specific situation.

I do not live near an Hermes store however I was able to connect with an SA at the closest Hermes store several hours drive from me. I have only been in store once and had previously had items shipped to me. On that visit, I was fortunate enough to be offered a B30 in a seasonal color. It was not my dream color however it was beautiful and I purchased it. I made it clear while I love the bag, I would love a neutral b30 . I have been contacting my SA via text when I am interested in purchasing items. Since the Birkin purchase I have only bought one other item all other items I wanted were out of stock. I do not over-text maybe once a month to ask if anything on my list is available. I have been very patient and always tell my SA there's no rush because there isn't. However it's been over 6 months and I haven't been able to purchase anything. While I do not mind waiting isn't 6 months a long time to receive anything in stock? (ie: shoes, small accessories, homeware etc)

I understand because I am a remote, fairly new client that hasn't spent much so I am not top of the list for a QB however I haven't have anything fulfilled in 2022. My SA is so lovely and we clicked when i was in person but via text it's hard to maintain that same camaraderie. I don't expect my SA to respond to all my texts but I feel completely ignored and don't know how to proceed.

I have seen items I am interested in online but refrained from purchasing hoping to buy from my SA and build my purchase history as well as maintain the relationship but at this point I feel defeated.

My questions are:

1. Should I try to find a new SA? (in the same store or another store- keeping in mind my store is in a smaller city)

2. Should I shop on hermes.com since it seems like my SA either doesn't care to fulfill my wish list or should I wait it out a bit longer? (Last time my SA responded was two weeks ago saying go ahead and send your update wish list- haven't heard back since. I followed up yesterday and have yet to hear anything)

Thank you in advance!

Online purchases will not help toward that goal and may in fact work against you. I think you should text your SA more regularly than once a month to add to your wish list items since the SA is able to ship to your home. The pre-spend resets after your first QB so if you have not purchased anything else but 1 item since, then you will have to continue building your purchases again if you want to be ordered a B30 in neutral. I heard that neutral colors are also more popular and may be harder to come by...

1. I definitely don't think a new SA in the same store would help since they have access to the same stock. This is especially if you're texting once a month and your SA is responding to you already.

A different store might have better stock - but stock is pretty poor everywhere - so there are more unknowns switching to a different store. It is unlikely to magically change your situation.

2. If there's something you really want on H.com, you should probably just order it because it won't be on H.com for a long time. That being said, if there's something on H.com that doesn't go out of stock quickly (like a scarf), maybe it's worth it for you to drive to the store when you have a couple of those type of items and have the SA charge send it for you in-store.

People in this thread often say "Buy what you love". Honestly I have drop into the store to check out what there is, and if there's anything I like. It's actually very hard to shop these days with low stock looking for exactly what I want. Seeing it for the first time in stores still counts as buying what I love! ...I just didn't know I would love it before seeing it in the store for the first time - unfortunately it might be an impulse buy! I do wait for my SA to text me back when finally something I want is in store - but I think more often than not that day never arrives...

My apologies if this is a basic/crass question, but upon reading the bag offers thread I must ask: Is it in poor form to ask the price of a bag before accepting/declining?
Hahaha! My SA and I have a running joke that he cannot put anything on me that is older than me in price. I am 58, so when he put a $65k bracelet on me, we laughed and I reminded him of my rule. I also don’t like spending more than my age at one visit, so he always subtotals for me as we pack my goodies away. Always ask, it is your money!

How do you think h jewelry stacks up against cartier love/juc?

It’s been my experience that H SAs are not at their best via text message. Especially bc there is somewhat low stock and they are supposed to prioritize clients who are physically in the store. Post Covid there are also a lot of clients shopping in person, and SA hours can be variable, so an SA may not have the time to respond by text. (In NY at least, i believe that there was a point where the SAs did not have access to their work phones at home).

If you would like another B30, I would strongly suggest making an in person appointment with your SA to reconnect and keep an open mind as to what is available. If you honestly don’t want anything but the items on your list that you cannot get, I would suggest buying bags from a reseller (have them authenticated by @bababebi before purchase. i Don’t recommend shopping on line if you are trying to build up prespend for a boutique QB. Good luck

ETA: while stock is relatively low and demand is high, regular clients who show up in person and buy across categories are still getting coveted items and QB offers. But, it may take a bit longer, and the SM ultimately decides whether an SA can offer a bag. I kind of feel that impulse buys can sometimes lead to surprising offers. JMO though

Feeling a bit conflicted on starting a new SA relationship and would love some opinions.

I moved to New York from Hong Kong last fall. I previously had a wonderful SA in Hong Kong who have helped me acquire quota bags among many other H items and I feel like I’m quite happy with my overall collection. (H RTW doesn’t really suit me so my focus was more fine jewellery, scarves and shoes in addition to bags.) I did wander into H Madison once last fall but without a good SA by my side and l found nothing I wanted and haven’t been tempted back since.

Fast forward this past month when I wandered into H as I had some time to kill and met the nicest SA by chance who not only helped me choose a few things but pro-actively gave me his contact and did a charge-send on one purchase (I didn’t ask, never done one as Hk doesn’t really do these). He told me he’s happy to do VOX for me if I see anything in future that I want online etc. and to please go through him. He was really friendly and I enjoyed shopping with him.

So here is my dilemma. I actually have very few things I want from H right now. I’m quite happy with my bag collection and while I would not say no to a Q bag in the right specs, my prevuous spend was mostly through fine jewellery (which I love and use). My problem is I’m recently more attracted to VCA and Cartier pieces so I don’t think I’m going to be a very good customer for him. But I would love to keep him as my SA in case that changes in the future. So should I try to go in anyway and try look for things just to keep our connection alive. Or since I don’t really want anything right now, I just hold off until I do and then see if he’s still responsive to me as his client.
