I believe that these days, bags are more readily offered as “surprises” while already in store shopping, especially for newer clients. H doesn’t really care if you only like a small set of items, they have hundreds of clients who (unfortunately) are willing to buy whatever it takes to get the bag, even if that means a hundred pairs of orans. If you aren’t spending regularly and to the tune of the numbers I mentioned above, then unfortunately it’s not about the SA and switching will only reset you to zero.
Hard truth.
I’ve been visiting my SA minimally once a month since last May. This month has been the most difficult. Nothing to buy.

Why don’t you make a trip and ask him face to face?

Good question and I think you’re right. I just need to make a trip over to him soon.

I believe it. I’m in no rush obviously it’s a bag not a kidney but I was just curious on everyone’s thoughts on this. Also, I thought I read somewhere in the H forum that your wishlist expires after I believe it was like 5 months of no spend?? I’m not sure if y’all have heard that but I asked him about it and he said that’s not true and that wishlists never expire.

That’s a UK thing. The US doesn’t really have a “wishlist” like that and it’s nothing formal. Here, it’s just the SA scribbling down notes in their personal note app, if at all. It doesn’t go anywhere else, it’s not a storewide list or anything. It’s just “oh yeah, Susan wants a black B25”.

hmmm…..I think I would like to keep close to my SA during this time. Remain in frequent contact. At least I will know if she is resigning.

Seems not many people on this thread are concerned that their SA resigned and their bag offer never came though.

Nobody in the store will know Susan wants a black b25 if her SA left.

I mean, you would just bring it up to the next SA you’re assigned to at the store. If the SA disappears, it’s not like all their clients are sorry out of luck. The SM cares about your purchases too and is the final gate to bag offers.

Interesting. He showed me the tablet they used and it was some form of app they use and it was literally divided up into a b/k/c category already with the options of color families. He didn’t write anything he “chose” options. Although he did write a comment no lime. But it didn’t look like a notes app. I’m not sure but I know I need to increase my spend. Unfortunately, H just hasn’t been on the top of my list and my fiancé and I have probably spent upwards of $100k on Cartier and VCA these past two years so H has been on the back burner. That’ll change once I decide how bad I want a bag lol.

Thats another thing that worries about him. I was a client of his when he worked at Chanel before this H boutique opened and then he made the switch. He was at Chanel for about 3 years so I wonder how long he’ll stay at H. According to his LinkedIn, he’s been at many brands before that. If he leaves I’ll probably consider switching boutiques. My boutique is low traffic and stock has never been great. Most everything I’ve bought in store had to be transferred to be shipped to me…from the store I would consider switching to lol.

Will the new SA offer a quota bag without any pre spending?
It’s very different in the US than where you are. The client would work with the new SA and the SM who would be aware of all the clients affected by the other SA leaving. Here it doesn’t work that you hit a certain spend and “qualify” for a bag and then just sit around and wait. It’s more an ebb and flow of: I like you, I see you often, I can tell you like the brand because you buy many different things, you havent gotten a bag in a while, we just got a big delivery, I took care of my mega spenders already this season, your profile is strong enough that if I recommend you for this bag the SM will probably agree, etc. The client would likely have to at least make minimal purchases with the new SA, but they likely would have had to make those purchases with the old SA too in order to get over the ”hump” into an offer, if that makes sense.

The reality is over the past year, there's been a huge increase in store traffic and new clients at H. At my store, on average, each SA has double the client book they had the previous year. Who many of them are probably coming in more often to show their face than every 4 to 5 months with a few phone orders in-between.

I've personally noticed over the past 6-8 months, my store would much rather me come in than sell to me remotely also, whereas before if I had just a small bit of items they'd offer to ship. I live about an hour from my boutique also, but I've found it easier to set an appointment a couple of weeks in advance so that I can work it into my schedule. My SA knows me well enough now they can generally procure a number of things I would love by the time I come in.

I'd also just advise patience. You said you get along well and if your SA is securing the items you want to buy outside of bags, I'd stick it out. If he were to leave, I'd give it couple trips with the new SA to see how it goes.

You can increase your spend, but let it come naturally. Don't force it. So many people are trying to force the relationship and wind up burning out. There's been a surge of new customers, all trying to obtain a quota bag. H is distinguish between those who will be around for the long haul and those who will burn out, which means longer wait times for bags for new customers. Being patient, showing consistency, and focusing on the areas that interest you outside of bags is the best path forward.

My thoughts exactly! I’m in no rush whatsoever but I was just wondering if there is ever such a time to move on to another SA if said SA isn’t doing much for you. I started my profile in 2018 but that was at two Vegas boutiques, when quota bags weren’t on my mind, and I live in Florida and needed to establish a relationship locally. I had a no H spend gap from after those 2018 purchases up until I met him in 2020.

I don't think he is leading you on based on what you have described. It sounds to me like you just need to keep working on your profile, but I definitely recommend that you take the extra time to drive to the boutique to go in person to do your shopping. These face to face visits help you to continue building a rapport with your SA and allow you to try various items that you just might fall in love with. Shopping by phone doesn't allow you to become seduced by something unexpectedly or allow your SA to offer any special surprises to you. :)

Thanks!

Well, I’ve heard from many no matter which country they are in, even though they might have pre spent a lot, they still have to spend with the new SA to “build the relationship “….the smoothest excuse I’ve heard so far is “Oh, I need to understand your buying pattern before we talk about b/k offers”.

It’s such a chore to break the ice with H SAs that I am not keen to repeat the experience.

Thank you everyone! I think y’all are right. I just need to make the effort to drive to the store more often. We’re building a home this year so that will give me more opportunities to buy home items too.
