For advice on how to obtain a B/K/C please go to the reading room in the Reading Room The Newbie's HOW DO I GET A BIRKIN (or other bag) Reading Room

For advice on how to shop at your local store please do a search in Hermes Shopping sub-forum and look for your store/region/country.

So glad you asked this question because I was wondering about the switching between SA's as well. My situation is related but also different. I have only JUST started my journey and created a profile with an SA of my "wishlist" bags (one of them a Birkin the other a Constance) at one of the 3 locations in NYC. While the SA seem like a good fit, the store itself is pretty threadbare and I'm contemplating taking a look at the other 2 locations? Am I already getting off on the wrong foot if I end up buying something at the other 2 stores and not the ones my SA works at?
If you haven't spent a significant amount with the first SA, then i think now is a good time to check out the other locations and see where you want to start building your relationship. if you're after a quota bag, you should be spending your money at one store with the same SA. for ex, don't buy a high ticket item (a watch or RTW) at MP and then decide that you actually want to do all your spending at WS. Buying a twilly or perfume might be a good way to test the waters at the other stores, its a small purchase (and won't hurt you if you decide to go back to store #1). the vibe at madison is really different vs meatpacking or wall street ime. good luck! :)

I am also based in the US, more specifically on the west coast. I would say it differ by store or SA if non quota bag count towards B/K. I was told by my new SA that leather does not count at their store. If you shop at a competitive store, most likely a non quota bag will not count. It would be best to check with the SA

Yes, I have also heard that SA gets commission from everything except for QB.
I’m in west coast as well, I’m not that close to my SA to ask that question yet. Curious to know more. I got RTW, homeware close to the 1:1 but have not heard anything about asking for my wishlist.

It doesn’t hurt to bring it up yourself if you are close to 1:1.

I brought up the wishlist myself at my second visit at the first H store I shopped at. I was very nervous but I expressed my interest in learning how it works to get k or c (at the time, I was not interested in birkin :P). I didn’t end up getting a QB offer at that particular store but I don’t think it hurt to ask in a nice and non pushy way. Good luck!!!

Actually I think it is important to ask the question “how does one build their profile towards a bkc in the store” as soon as practicable in the current climate and be guided by the SA

Coz some SAs are full with existing customers who are on their journey towards their QB. If a new customer comes along and show such intentions, they may not want to take on. They may turn nasty, they may turn away nicely….whatever it may be, it’s good for the new customer. Better than spending lots and building up expectations but ended up in disappointment and frustration.

For those who want to build a relationship out of genuine love for the brand, QB or no QB, pls ignore what I said. :)

thank you, I wish I thought about this earlier. I should’ve asked this before I got too deep. I remembered she told me it would be a two years wait. But recent she had said that she got a lot more new good clients. I don’t know what that means.

With Hermes shrouded in such mysteries for so long, most people thinking it’s a game, very few people would ask directly.

Anyway, after I’ve spoken to a number of customers who are successful in their journey and more or less have an okay working relationship with their SAs, I concluded that the important thing is to see whether the SA is sincere at the very beginning.

If the SA doesn’t come across as sincere to acquire a new customer, then just revisit to meet another SA at the same store another time. Or visit a different store.

In all relationships, it’s more fun for 2 to tango. Rather than being one sided.

Thank you, compare to my first SA, this one actually sent me a hand written note thanking my purchase after my first visit. So I felt very special and have fallen deeply very quickly. Then there is not much dance move from the other side after that.

That’s very nice!

unfortunately, I should be clearer….sincerity means being directly replying on the question “how does one build their profile towards a bkc in the store”….

I think you should just ask her. That way it’s clear how your store operates etc.

1:1 spending for your first QB during the pandemic may not be “enough” and you may need to be very patient as many folks are (1) not traveling out of country and (2) spending a lot of $$ at their local stores. Many loyal customers are also waiting a long time for a QB due to the very limited supply.

Thank you. I feel like an hour appointment is never enough to try things on and have any meaningful conversation. I will for sure have less on my agenda and ask my SA directly at the next visit. Thank you.

Just sharing how I spent my appointments for references….they are almost never to try things on. It’s a good 20mins to check stocks armed with product references readily for my SA to copy and paste into the app on her phone. Next few minutes to pack and make payment for items previously ordered or reserved. The rest of the time to ask sensitive questions.

when we are free, we measure ring sizes, wrist sizes, shoe sizes….so when there r stocks in my size, my SA can get those for me.

Don’t think this way is suitable way of shopping for one and all….but I am an online shopaholic. It is almost only Hermes that I made an exception to go to the store and spent an hour. Often I leave within 30mins.

This is super helpful, thanks! I was thinking I must be doing something wrong as I always run out of time and my SA always have to rush me out.

No no….u r doing what normal people would be doing. I think under normal circumstances when luxury shopping is fun and people take their time, try on stuff and mull it over. The items would still be in store even after thinking for few days or weeks.

however, nowadays is quite a different story.

I’m pretty much like you too. I normally know what I want and in and out the shop within 30 mins max.

H is an exception. I normally text my SA before I go in. I let her know what I’m looking for so she can check if she has them or anything else in stock (she knows my/DH style and preferences, so she always have options for me :) ) and I make sure that I don’t take too much of her time hence I know she’s super busy.
I’m pretty upfront and open with her regarding the items and if I’m not sure, I don’t even bother her to order or transfer them in. She also will tell me if the items are good for me/DH or not which I really appreciate it.

That sound great. But it took some relationship building before my SA will attend to the things I txt her about. Now she does reserve things for me when I txt her. So I’m not sure if it’s good to advise this to those who are new to their SA.

also, before I decided, I would have researched on all colour ways of the item. Usually no need for the SA to propose anything else. Not so good as that’s why I spend months waiting for the exact item to come into the store.
