Do most people even bother to make an appointment with their SAs for small (< $500) purchases?

I worked with an SA in 2019, but took a break from shopping throughout the entirety of 2020. I'm not even sure if my SA even works at my local store anymore..

I am, by my own definition, a very small fry at H, and just don't want to inconvenience the SA when she can work with other clients that might provide her a bigger commission. I'm just wondering if I'd be better off as a walk-in customer, since I have no aspirations to acquire a quota bag.
I would still call the store and see if the SA is still at the store. If yes, then I'd book an appointment with him/her and shop with them regardless of the intention to spend big or small. Who knows what will happen once I walked into the store... I oftentimes walked out with more items than planned because I just could't pass on some goodies when I saw them in store.

As for the quota bags, even if you have no interest now, it doesn't mean you won't change your mind in the future... just throwing it out there as I've seen some posters regret not building the profile and developing a relationship with an SA earlier when buying H items here and there.

Not too sure if your store will have the exact thing you want to get when you walk in.

I suggest to still go to the same SA as if you need to be put on waiting list, you can follow up with the SA.

I was put on a list for even a twilly.

i think you are under estimating yourself… give the store a call and provide a chance your SA to serve you, it’s their job at the end of day.

i said similar thing to a non-h SA before with my small order but she said to me “little water drops make the mighty ocean.”, and that always have stuck with me.

So i always want to give SAs i like a chance to serve and meet their numbers…. If they refuse then i move onto other method or SA

My girl friend just shared with me her weird encounter at boutique today. To provide some background - She has been with this SA for more than a year and she spent more than 1:1 but she rejected 2 offers of B/K (specs not communicated properly between the 2 parties). She was told that she would need to wait long thereafter since she rejected the offers. Recently my friend asked for a black Constance and today she was offered the bag. However the SA told her not to visit that boutique anymore, to go somewhere else.

I was shocked when she shared with me. Why is the SA treating my friend this way? She only rejected 2 offers, which I don’t think it warrants the ask not to visit the place anymore. This is very puzzling to me.

does anyone know if such treatment is common? I am actually quite horrified that H treats customers in such a rude manner! I’m not sure how we can maintain a relationship if SAs can just “dump“ a customer this way.

Sorry for your friend's experience...and no, I don't hear this kind of response from a SA commonly. Could you give a little more info as to where approximately is the location (Asia, UK, US, EU)? And did anything else happened between your friend and that SA? Was the SA meant to suggest that your friend going to a bigger store with more supplies to get her specific bag?

There is clearly more to the story here. It’s probably not fair to decide how “H treats customers” based off one side of one secondhand story of an experience with one SA at an H store…

I agree that she might not have shared the whole story with me. Previously she also shared about her other not too nice encounters with the SA. Eg being told no stock but there was actually stock of an item a couple of days later after her friend checked in (which I told her could be that the stock just happened to come in).

I had encounter with this SA too and decided to switch boutique as the SA openly shared about the displeasures working in the boutique and expressed unhappiness to me that my friend rejected the offer twice.

my intention was to ask if this is a common treatment and am glad that such encounter should be deemed rare

Rare enough to defy belief on the facts thus far presented, imho. Most of us have, at a minimum, a pleasant business report with our SAs, if not friendly.

I'm very surprised by this. If the SA didn't want to work with her anymore, he wouldn't have offered her the Constance, or he would have asked her to work with another SA. What surprises me most is that she was asked not to visit the boutique anymore.

Any chance your friend could have been flagged as a reseller?

What reason did the SA give for asking her to not visit the store anymore?

Did she go to the SA and said something like “so and so got this exact bag I want from you/your store, but why did you not give it to me”?

I know some people are in disbelief but I have heard some horrible customer service stories. Some snobby SAs who are only nice to VIPs and very rude to small fries. But since she was actually offered a bag twice before there could be a story behind. Perhaps some misunderstanding. That's really strange.
