Need some advice here ...... my SA has recently started hinting to me to "look at" RTW. Last month when I was in the store, she walked me through the RTW department and mentioned how she could imagine me in one of the pieces. Then earlier this week she sent me a picture of a cashmere coat noting that made her thought of me.

Question - do you think I need to venture into RTW now (I have only been buying bags, SLGs, scarves/belts/fashion jeweleries, shoes, bag charms, and an H watch & a Farandole silver long necklace)? She has been great and we have a very good relationship - I've been with her for 2 years now and so far I've got 6 quota bags, 3 KPs, constance 18, kelly danse, mini lindy, and even a special order just last month. I'm worried that if I don't "diversify" my purchases into other departments, I won't have such great offers anymore. I'm thinking of maybe not getting the cashmere coat she suggested (as it is ~$5,000 and I don't really wear cashmere coats) but maybe a tee + a sweater to satisfy the "purchase diversification" request. What do you all think?

Part of her job as an SA is to softly introduce you to new categories you may have not purchased in. My SA did the same thing to me earlier this year. I was apprehensive to look at the RTW as I honestly did not think I would fit into it, and was also not sure how I felt about trying on clothes in a pandemic. After I got vaccinated, we tried a couple of pieces, they turned out to fit and I loved them... now I am on the incredible slippery slope that is H RTW. Sorry if I'm an enabler  but obviously, don't feel pressured to buy what you don't love and want, but another part of the shopping experience is at least exploring and trying new things.

Honestly, just buy what you love. You guys have a great relationship. If you don’t show interest in RTW, she should not and would not push them on you. Continue buying what you like. It seems like you have been offered many items within 2 years that people waited for much longer for.
My SA kept pushing fine jewelry. I said I have no interest in adding anymore pieces because I am out of wrist space to add anything. I am wearing 2 Cartier love, and a tennis bracelet already. I have no room to add a Kelly bracelet lol. Just be straight forward and don’t hesitate to say no.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Do you know if silver jewelry belong to the fine jewelry department? I would rather check out jewelry or even homeware than RTW as they don't really interest me :P

Thank you for sharing your experience! I have looked at their RTW the past few season and nothing really interested me, especially not their cashmere coats because they are too oversized/cocoon/egg shaped not for me with a petite frame (I'm only 5'2"). I don't like their hip-length cashmere jacket either as it lacks the elegant feel to me (I think cashmere coats need to be knee length but that's just me). I'm someone who would get multiple Uniqlo fine merino sweaters of the same color so I can throw them into the washer/dryer and change to a new one if the old one is too washed out. I'm worried I'm just too lazy to "maintain" a high priced Hermes RTW piece. Too much work for me :P

I think you should buy what you like. She may have just been trying to introduce you to new items/categories to gauge your interest so she can better help you find things you like. I don't think it'll effect your relationship by saying no to items you don't particularly like since your SA has already offered you 6 quota bags and SO within 2 years which is more than the standard 2 quotas per year...this alone shows that you have a great relationship with her already.

Me too! I would never consider RTW but I tried one of their sweaters. Wow, very nice fit. Love it

I guess their job is also to introduce us to other aspects of Hermes. Whoel they have a job to do, we control what we want to buy. At the end of the day, buy only what you would use.

When I finally summoned the courage to mention my hope of a B, my SA laughed, took some notes about what I hoped for (B30 in craie (apparently unlikely) or bleu nuit (more likely) with GHW), she asked if I liked porcelain!!! I am not into porcelain AT ALL...I'm happy to continue buying what I love...scarves/shawls, some fashion jewelry, SLGs, a change tray for my honey, but I'm not going to buy something I don't love to get my dream bag. If necessary I'll pay over market on the resellers market or find something on the pre-loved market. I really like my SA and I enjoy visiting with her and she likes to help me find the items I love (I send her screenshots of my online cart!) but I'm going to stick with the things I like. That being said, maybe RTW will turn out to be your thing ;)

Anyone successfully have a buyer history at two stores and still receive offers?

Backstory i didnt click with my first H SA so shopped in Hawaii and found an SA I love! But swung by my home store and ended up finding a girl who is great, but i think she has an established client base. Shes asked about my travel purchases before which made me a bit worried if they looked bad or if it was genuine curiosity?

I cant imagine others dont shop on vacation. Also Hawaii seems to get a different influx of products. Id like to keep shopping at both and get quota bags eventually, but I wonder if I should open an acct with my fiances name? Id prefer to keep on mine though. Would love any and all thoughts

I have a similar consideration as well…
I’m pretty new to my Harrods boutique and so far I got a farandole long necklace, 2 RTW pieces, Apple Watch and other bits. I’m also planning to get a pair of boots and the allure rain coat later this year.
I have something on my wish list.
Question is… This year I’m looking to add a piece of fine jewelry. I’m looking at several houses, including the H d’Ancre bracelet…
Strategically thinking…Should I just get the H d’Ancre this year or get something else then get the H d’Ancre next year?
What do you guys think?

I admire your firm stand! I'm not sure I would be able to stand firm though as I'm really afraid to lose the flow of nice items. It may not be her but the SM pushing for the expansion of my purchase history in order for her to continue sending good stuff my way :P

I’ll keep you posted…I’m seeing her after the 4th to see the items she has in store.

This is pure speculation but I sense that the pre-spend for quota bags is going up.

I say this because:
1/ There seems to be more people trying to get quota bags based on what I'm seeing on Instagram and YouTube (and price increases at Chanel may continue to encourage this)
2/ Looking at recent financials, Hermes managed to increase the sale of non-leather goods whilst the supply of bags seems to be down
3/ Quota bag prices on resale websites have gone through the roof (I suspect this is partly due to increased demand and resellers having to pre-spend more)

Again this is speculation, but @Ball it may be that your SA has realised she'll need you to spend more / across more categories to continue to offer you so many bags. Or it could be that the SM has reviewed your profile and told your SA that it's light vs. the bags being offered.

In your position, I'd try to get more clarity from your SA since you have such a good relationship. Do you need to hit a certain spend in RTW to make sure you get your SO? This is what I'd be worried about.

If so, you can decide to continue to play the game. If not, then you don't need to spend $3,000 on a tee and sweater you never wanted!

it could also be that your SA is short on hitting her sales goals this month and that this has nothing to do with your purchase history... But I wouldn't drop so much money without knowing what's going on and no one on this forum will know!

Best of luck and keep us posted xx

+1. I love designer RTW, but some H pieces just don‘t fit my body type (Long waisted, thicker in the waist, with shorter arms). Hermes cannot always accommodate the alternations I need (especially in outerwear), and going up or down a size messes with the shoulder. But, H RTW can be far better priced than comparable pieces at Brunello Cuchinelli, Dior, or Chanel, and it doesn’t hurt to keep an open mind and try new things. you may be very pleasantly surprised. And, sometimes the pieces that you think you love end up not being the pieces you take home. Take comfort in the fact that no SA wants to sell you stuff that you will end up regretting.

The original SA I was working with (~a year) went on a leave and when I couldn't reach her at the expected time of her return, I stopped by the store and picked up a few things with a new SA, whom I really enjoyed working with. But my original SA just came back and now I feel really bad I shopped with someone else - does anyone have experience working with two SAs at the same store and if so, how do you split your purchases? Since I liked both, I'm not sure what to do or what is right at this point.

You have clearly been a reliable client in a position to buy what takes your fancy.
Your SA has probably thought, or had the idea put to her, that you might be the kind of client who could be interested in some other Hermes offerings
With your purchasing portfolio, I don't think you should read any more into it than that.
Do not feel obliged to buy RTW or anything else for that matter.
If necessary you should say so firmly, but it should not come to that.
You must be a valued client that they would not wish to loose.
